Fantastic food so indulgent absolutely delicious.
Staff are rude and snobby and borderline off putting.
location is out of the way and you have to have it in mind already if that's where you want to go for lunch.
Expensive but for such good food worth it.

It was lunchtime and House of Anvers had a pretty broad and nice sounding range of lunch options, but we were at a chocolate factory. So we got waffles with chocolate and hazelnuts and more chocolate and hot chocolates and it was bliss. It was also really sweet but that was to be expected. The waffles were crispy and the chocolate sauce was really tasty and hot. They also had some nice variations if that much chocolate isn't your idea of heaven!

Approximate cost: $15

I had lunch at the "House of Anvers" today - and what a taste sensation! They make the most delectable Belgian chocolates, and you can view the process, and can try the results in their "Tasting Room"!! They also have a very varied menu, including cheese platters (which we had), as well as a variety of seafood/ meat/ vegetarian platters. The cheese platter consisted of a variety of Tasmanian cheeses - very tasty. Also - get this! - they have a variety of chocolate platters with the most amazing choices of the most melt-in-the-mouth chocolates. We had large mugs of delicious, decadent hot chocolate - their specialty. I tried the Aztec chilli spiced hot chocolate - wonderful! Just a hint of chilli, with pieces of chocolate floating on top of the drink. Well worth a visit!

We often stop here on our way to Devonport, they have a great range of cholocates and even free samples in store. If you time things correctly you can also watch demonstrations or grab a bite to eat in the onsite cafe. Staff are always happy and welcoming

House of Anvers is easy to miss driving by but definately worth stopping in for a look, sample and purchase. I love that house of Anvers is set up so you can try before you buy, the chocolates and fudges are devine and my husband adores their choc orange. This is not a place where you could easily spend a whole day but most definately worth stopping for

This place is great. It is fascinating to see the chocolate being made. The chocolate is made of the best quality ingredients, it is expensive, but oh so worth it. Also, the shop has free samples. And they make great coffee. Check it out.

If you are a chocolate fiend, this quaint little gem is for you and any other choco-junky you may know.
Only 15 Mins from Devonport and 45 mins from Launceston believe me when i say it is worth you while to make a little detour for a slice of heaven. Anvers has a cafe with a delicious menu, it does get really busy thou, the truffles and fudge are the best i have ever had the pleaseure of eating, they are a bit pricey but OH SO WORTH IT.

we happened to stumble upon house on anvers on a day trip to devonport. We decided to stop and have a look. My daughter thought she was in heaven with all the chocolates. Entry is free and you can walk around and watch the chocolates being made. You also are given samples to try... i loved this part.
You can buy their chocolates in store. They are a bit on the dear side but the quality is superb so they are well worth it.
The staff are really friendly and pleasent.
My favourite item is the fudge...yummo

Have been getting coffee here regularly for the last few months and great coffee it is. Particularly as a) it is very cheap at $4.20 for a large and b) it comes with a free truffle and piece of fudge, made fresh on premises. Sure it's a ploy to get you to buy it but hey it works. And regardless even if it doesn't you get it each and every time you buy a hot drink!!

Aside from the coffee Anvers fudge is to die for. They have a "cellar door" there where you can buy their products, and it is substantially cheaper than buying it at some of the retail places you can find it. They also have a selection of their fudge and truffles, as well as their courveture chocolate available for free tasting. Very high quality and "moreish".

For the first time the other day I had breakfast at the cafe there. It took me about 20 minutes to decide on what to have and the selection isnt really overly large. Problem is it all just sounded too good. I had the specialty "Stollen" - four slices of belgian fruit loaf with a good splodge of almond paste through it and served with farm fresh butter, chocolate praline spread and fresh fruit. I like to try different things when I return to an eatery buy sometimes you just love something so much that you reorder that time and time again and I think this will be the case here. Oh and the coffee came in the most adorable mug, but no free fudge or truffles when you dine in :(

I was quite surprised to get the free chocolates too for such a great price!
