I really like the seats and how they display all their drinks , it is very easy to get what your want & it is very cheap to watch a movie in nice reclining seats .

They are a great cinema except they have terrible prices. There tickets are over priced and there food bar is out of this planet with prices. you cannot go to the movies there and spent less then 150 dollars if youd lie to get food too. they have great comfy seating and large screens but that does not give them a right to bump there prices sky high!

Movies are too expensive and a bottle of water should not cost $4.40. Rediculous. I would be better off waiting till they go to dvd. Queue's went quite quickly though and it was amply staffed. I would go again but never buy from candy bar.

Watched Life of Pi and Sky Fall at Hoyts Chadstone l, it was not the best cinema but it was ok - not as bad as some of the reviews ...., the movies were so good, we didn't even notice other stuff other people mentioned.

Our experience at hoyts chadstone seems very similar to the other reviews on WOMOW. The chairs are really uncomfortable and hoyts is no where near as good as village cinemas in that respect. We booked for LaPreier only once- what a disappointment. We arrived in plenty of time and when we looked at the menus we were told there was only one thing available. We ordered that even though we wouldn't have selected it if there had been other choices. it was brought to our seats without any cutlery and it was very messy. Would never go back - not sure what hoyts think premiere means!

I agree with you! Hoyts is not that great for movies, if i can avoid Hoyts all together I do as the seats are uncomfortable. In my opinion Hoyts Cinemas needs a total revamp and new seats!
Yeap Village cinemas are much more comfortable to sit in and worth every cent for your movie ticket :)

I generally don't like going to Hoyts as I feel that Village have more modern and bigger cinemas. The chairs at Hoyts chadstone are not all that comfortable and I find that La Premier is nothing special, like Gold Class is. Given, you get popcorn and a drink, but you are in the same cinema as the others and at the back.

The staff are very friendly however they have this ancient lift. I have emailed Hoyt's and they didn't reply to me. I have complained about this old and open archive lift that you have to hold the button as you are going down and also ask a staff member to unlock the door for you to use. I am 50 and have bad knees and i feel uncomfortable going in this horrible lift. Imagine how people feel who are in wheelchairs and the like. I find it kind of scary too. I reckon they would be loosing their customers by having this horrible lift. Please get a ramp!

Approachable staff, glamourous surroundings (especially if you're on the sunny side of 7). great movies, a decent number of toilets, escalators galore (great for running the wrong way up) and right near Borders. Way to go!

Great facilities, all new cinemas, makes for an enjoyable movie-watching experience. The machines are also very good for buying tickets, makes it much quicker.

I repeat below an email sent by my wife to Hoyts Cinemas on 8 January 2010. There has been no response from the company. We use village Gold Class at Century Glen Waverley sometimes and have only had positive experiences. We are not in the habit of making formal complaints :

I would like to express my disappointment in our experience whilst attending a film at your La Premier Cinema in Chadstone last night.

I was given gift vouchers for Christmas and booked for the 5.30pm showing of Its Complicated.

On arrival we were shown around and ordered drinks in the lobby which were served promptly.
We also ordered a plate of nachos to be brought into the theatre at 5.45pm, with the intention of ordering another meal later in the movie.

The nachos arrived at 7.10pm. As we had finished our wine by this stage my husband went out to the bar and ordered another glass of wine each to be brought into the theatre.

Unfortunately the nachos we received (almost 1 hour late), were lukewarm and 50% of the crisps consisted of broken/crunched pieces from the bottom of the packet. The extra glasses of wine we ordered didn't arrive at all.

On leaving the theatre we advised the staff of our disappointment at the experience and were advised the staff member had written down the wrong theatre therefore the nachos were late and not hot. They couldn't even locate the order for the extra wine ordered.

As we are in the hospitality industry we recognise the importance of raising issues such as this and asked to speak to a manager. We were advised a manager wasnt on duty at La Premier. With further persistence a manager was called up from downstairs. We explained what had happened and she advised us there is a window of 30 minutes for delivery of meals -
this does not explain the 1 hour delay, the quality of the food, or the loss of the order for the extra wine.

There appears to be either a complete breakdown in procedures, or staff who are not trained properly. Surely tickets should be double checked to ensure correct theatre and seating is noted on orders.

I trust you will look into why these problems have occurred and would appreciate some feedback as it is unlikely we shall return to the cinema unless we can be confident of better service.

Regards
Bev W

Yeah this is one beauty of a cinema, went there pretty much all the time to watch a variety of movies. The seats are comfy, service is top and even the choc-cones are a delight to have during the movie. No regrets with this one at all, and go there on tuesdays when its cheaper to watch movies.

It has the best location in Chad stone. Its near the parking and different restaurants. After shopping around in Chadstone it is the best way to finish the day with a movie. The service is great and a great place to be with friends.

Great place to bring the family or a group of friends. Right in the middle of Chadstone Shopping Centre allows all invididuals to watch a flick at the end of the night or day. I really like the service, ticket people are usually friendly and seats are comfortable!

The cinama in Chadstone Shopping Centre, is a great place to go and enjoy a great movie with a friend or family member. It is a nice and welcoming cinama, but it does need a little cleaning up like new funiture as its getting old. Apart from that it is a great place to go to.

The hoyts cinemas at Chadstone are a comfortable cinema experience. They have comfortable seats, massive screens. The experience is always pleasant no matter what movie! While it is a couple of dollars more expensive than other cinemas it is 10X the better experience

I love the cinema no matter what- but when I was interstate recently and visited this Hoyts it was a really great experience. It was even better because I had been shopping all day at Chadstone's and then I went to the cinema that evening. Everything was clean, neat and the staff were friendly. I would recommend to others.

Not that great. Big multiplex, but low on service, all counters do not operate on the busiest times i.e. fridays and saturdays. night shows are not very clean. small and inadequate bathrooms on the lower floor.

Very large cinema complex but during the night session, lines can be quite long. Generally very good but I had 1 bad experience. During a day session, I arrived 15 minutes before the movie's starting time, but there was only 1 person at the ticket counter and it seemed they didn't really know what they were doing so we ended up getting our tickets about 15minutes after the movie had started. I was rather annoyed but didn't get any reimbursements.

We pre-booked tickets for La Premier. We arrived 10 minutes before the film to collect them from the La Premier queue but didn't get them until 5 minutes after the film had started. When we got to the lounge we had to wait for the bar staff to check the tickets, then go back and wait again to get cups for the drink bar. By the time we got to our seats (in the dark and not an usher in sight) the movie had started.
The lights in the seats were very bright, and staff were coming and going throughout the movie delivering food.
We used to love La Premier for special occasions or long movies, but after that experience (they are now sponsored by Vodafone - not sure if the change in service levels ties in with that) we're not likely to return.

Hoyts cinemas had good customer service alothough we were overcharged at the candy bar. Staff acted proffessionally and cinemas were clean at all times. Overall, we had a quite good experience and will return in the future for more fantastic blockbuster films.

This is one of our favourite cinemas because it's within the wonderful Chadstone Shopping Centre. It makes for a wonderful experience to first shop, eat then have a night out at the movies.

I once accidentally took a voucher from another cinema and the manager kindly honoured it. You can't beat service like that.

I made a mistake with the booking for the entire family and they respected my claims and changed the tickets although it was after 45 minutes from purchase time, and their policy is to replace only 20 minutes after purchase time. We managed to see the movie after all.

Cinema experience is great, and snack bar is massive. However upon requesting seats at back of cinema and being told that is what we were given, upon entering the cinema we were in the first row...not impressed at that type of service. Prices are also kind of expensive, even the student discount was not impressive.

Facilities are above par, yet hoyts chadstone brings nothing particularly unique to the cinema plateau. 'Tight arse Tuesdays' are a good find, but then again, is something offered by many others in the business. La Premier is worth it, though, if you're upto it, where seating is considerably larger and certainly more comfortable. Food Bars tend to become busy quickly and are often under-staffed, and often toilets can become ridiculously full post-films.
