Yes, the cakes look and taste delicious, but if you've got a bit of extra cash to splash around, why not investigate the adjoining restaurant? Meals are somewhat traditionally inspired, and all of the expected Italian stereotypes- Antipasto and Brushcetta for entree, coffee after dinner- is available. The Restaurant itself is small, yet provides a nice intimate setting, and staff are helpful, unintrusive and professional. Not to be confused with the sandwish bar/ buffet area, which also provides decent food. But the real reason anyone visits brunettis is always to see their decadent cakes- worth a window shop when you're in the area.

Food is great value, staff don't hassle patrons, and ever since anti-smoking laws were introduced ambience has increased. Relaxed, casual atmosphere, personally we often use the bistro as a venue for family functions. Seniors discounts also available!

This review is for Diaco's Discount Nursery, Heatherton VIC

Diaco's sells a great variety of plants but the thing most worth noting is the incredibly low price of their mature trees. Those who live locally should keep an eye out for smart saver catalogues in which Diaco's has been known to make an appearance. Small courtesies make the experience all the more worthwhile; umbrellas are provided for rainy days, trolleys for carting your selections around, bags to place over the bottom of the pots to prevent spillages in your car.

This review is for Ritchies Supermarket, Bentleigh East VIC

Staff are sometimes friendly but some tend to be incredibly depressing. Prices are ok, but you have to do your research- often when not on special most items tend to be excessively priced. The car park is not unlike a tiny war zone. Filled with octogenarians, and also utilised by many others shopping in the east bentleigh district, tends to be crazy and filled with dementia patients. You get the picture.

Attended a private function in the bar section. Staff were friendly (although that may have been overdrawn due to the open bar) and food was absolutely delicious. Ambience was lovely and views (although obstructed by the carpark) were quite nice also.

This review is for Borders, Chadstone VIC

Borders chadstone is really just remarkable. Staff are all genuinely interested in their area of employment, the variety always exceeds my needs, costs are generally quite low, and (as other ratings have noted) there are great discounts to be had if you join the mailing list- "the shortlist". Although the sorting of genres can often be quite frustrating (who would have thought Harry Potter would live in sci-fi?) the collection at borders is extensive.

This review is for Hoyts Cinemas, Chadstone VIC

verified email - 09 Jan 2008

Facilities are above par, yet hoyts chadstone brings nothing particularly unique to the cinema plateau. 'Tight arse Tuesdays' are a good find, but then again, is something offered by many others in the business. La Premier is worth it, though, if you're upto it, where seating is considerably larger and certainly more comfortable. Food Bars tend to become busy quickly and are often under-staffed, and often toilets can become ridiculously full post-films.

This review is for JB Hi-Fi, Chadstone VIC

verified email - 09 Jan 2008

Recent changes to store location seem to have cramped the store and amplified JB's consistently crowded status. Although prices are usually better than most, one has to do a little bit of research-often I've spent a considerably higher amount on a product believing that JB was always cheaper. That said, in terms of more expensive equipment, the staff are always friendly, helpful and willing to haggle. During busier times, you may have to wait forever to actually buy your product though!

This review is for Rivoli Cinema, Hawthorn East VIC

Often showing the arthouse films that rarely show in mainstream cinemas, the rivoli and its gorgeous art nouveau interiors is a cinema well worth visiting. Although the place can tend to get a bit busy, its position- near camberwell junction- is convenient if you're after a dinner/movie combo.

Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful but don't pester you as you walk around the store. When sales are on on more expensive machinery, discounts are amazing (Once I managed to save more than 50% on an elliptical trainer). Family often visits in search of good quality, inexpensive shoes.
