Never had a problem with the company and would highly recommend them to anyone.
I called Woolleys, as I have many times, for various plumbing problems. This time was for my ducted heater. Ken sent out a very pleasant and polite young man who diagnosed the fault and said he would have to order a part. Later that day he returned with new part, installed it and it now works perfectly. A big thank you to all at Woolleys Plumbing.

This has been the worst company I have ever dealt with. Staff [redacted] no idea about how to deal with a customer appropriately. They attended to instal a new heater after providing a quote for a specific amount, for which I had paid a deposit, and then said it would cost more on the day due to a vent. When I refused to pay any more they said the existing one is actually fine. I wish I had read these reviews prior to booking them, I never would have used their service and I never will again.

Had an air conditioner that stopped working. My wife called what she thought was a Brivis technician but turned out to be K.&J.Woolley from Fairfield. They charged me $195 to come and inspect the unit and told me that the control board and the solenoid (an electrical Switch) was faulty and had to be repaired. They quoted a repair cost of $940.00 and both components had to be changed.
I asked two questions how did the technician test the solenoid, could not tell me, asked how did he test the control board, response came back he used a tester, no idea.
I booked them to repair the two units as the boss Ken told me that they come together, not according to Brivis who sell the genuine parts, just another story to make some money.
Did my homework via Brivis and then engaged another air conditioner repair company who charged only $154.00 to check out the system as they did not believe the diagnostic report from Woolley's. They, Woolley's told me that it would take two techs to remove the control board from the unit (not true quite small and manageable for one tech). So the new company diagnosed the unit seems only the solenoid was faulty total cost including call out $550 plus a full service.
Told Woolleys the story and asked them to do the right thing since they totally diagnosed this wrong to refund $100 from the call out fee of $195.00 as a token of their customer service and mistake and to do the decent thing, was told tech is now off with a bad back and [redacted personal identifier] promised follow to contact him then come back to me with an answer, did not happen. After seven days he never responded to my email, obviously NO answer.
Popped into the office to speak to Ken and asked nicely what he intended to do, got nothing but the run around and no answers he even denied giving me a quote and I responded how could you book in the job to be done If you did not give me a quote of $940 all I got was I'm too busy to deal with you. Had a few choice words with him.
Do not expect any customer service from him just not there, evasive and tells you nothing did not respond as promised. At one point the they suggested to my wife we change to whole unit cost $2000-$3000 due to it's age. Do not engage this company, received unprofessional service. Bad news, terrible and totally wrong diagnosis and very expensive.
Can't warn you enough about this company and the boss there. Denied that they said control board and solenoid needs replacing yet it listed on their call out invoice and they booked the repair job based on their quote, funny that

Will never use them again, technician came to check our hot water service and said we needed a new gas valve which he had none of in his van and would come back the next day or the day after that
He invoiced us for $195 and said the invoice would not be processed until the job as completed but requested payment that day,
Another technician came 2 days later changed the gas valve and wrote up another invoice for $310
At no time we were informed that it would cost us another $310 . Spoke to another staff member who was rude and not even interested in what I had to say and said it had to be paid. Have used them a few times but will never recommend them to anyone again.

I had Woolley's Plumbing install our hot water system this month. They price matched quotes I had gathered from other companies on labour and the price of the hot water unit. Fantastic! Removal of the old unit and installation of the new was quick – 1 hour. I would recommend Woolley's with 1 caveat. Check the invoice. Some mistakes were made and we weren't provided with a cost breakdown of the job – just a pencilled calculation on the day. However, within a few days the discrepancies were resolved. The fact that Woolley's credited the disputed amount back onto our card after we had paid the bill is especially impressive. For me, the strength of a company is partly measured by its willingness to resolve such discrepancies. Alex.S

I had them come to repair a ducted heating service. It was not turning on all the time. They came out assessed it and I suppose serviced it and when they left it was working but somehow it needed a combustion fan. Even though I questioned why it needed a combustion fan replacing when the heater was working I got no response apart from that it needed replacing. So reluctantly as it was so cold I needed my tenants to have a heater and said fix it. Then it started making a noise and got a call advising the big fan needs changing as well. In the meantime I went out and checked to see why the heater was making a noise and saw my heater had been left dismantled. Called them back and advised them of this and was told that is not the case. I told them I'm not replacing the other fan and to get someone to come and put the heater back together. Another technician was sent and he put the heater together and tested everything and the big fan did not need replacing but the heater was still noisy and said that the gas valve may need replacing. I received another call advising me of this and not acknowledging the state my heater was originally left in but quoted me more money to have gas valve replaced. I had enough and called Consumer Affairs as I was not going to keep getting the run around. In the end I agreed to pay the original invoice and they did not want to do any more work and they could not provide me with an itemised invoice as per request. In the end they contacted Consumer Affairs and told them that they will take 50% off the bill and close the matter. Why?
Very rude, Bullies, bad customer service(no customer service). Do not call them for heating repairs.. By the way I found out in the end they do not guarantee their work.

Woolleys Plumbing Charged Me for Doing Nothing

Stay away from Woolleys Plumbing unless you want to be charged exorbitant prices for no service and like to be bullied!
In July 2011 my heater started to turn itself on and off. I found Woolley's in the yellow pages under heater repairs. They came out had a look and advised me that the fault was with remote control and that if they took it away I would have no heating until it was returned. They advised me to put up with the fault until the weather warmed up. They charged me $195.00 for this. I put up with a faulty heater for the whole winter on their advice. When the weather got better I called them and they took the remote away for testing. There was nothing wrong with it. Then they took the circuit board away for repair and advised that now the heater was fixed. They charged me $703.51 cents for this. The next winter came and the problem started immediately and was, if anything worse than before. I called Woolleys and advised them that the fault had not been repaired and they told me, quite aggressively, that all the warranties (parts and labour) had expired so I was back to square one. I called another company who, within 5 minutes, had tested the unit and advised that the flame sensor was not working and had never been cleaned. They also advised me that another part had been left disconnected. I was charged $350 for the repair and new part and was left with a working heater.
I contacted Woolleys and asked them to refund me the $703.51 only. I was ready to forgo the initial $195.00 in the spirit of conciliation. They first advised me that I would get nothing, then advised that they would reimburse the charges I had paid to the other company when I advised that I was going to Consumer Affairs and the Master Plumbers Association.
I disputed this and escalated the complaint to Consumer Affairs and the Master Plumbers Association. Woolley's was advised to resolve this complaint to MY satisfaction. By this time I had advised them that I wanted the full $898.51 as they had been so aggressive and difficult to deal with. They did not listen to the recommendations of their Association and instead sent me a cheque for the 703.51! By this time, I was pretty tired of it all and I cashed that cheque. I have been told by both Consumer Affairs and the Master Plumbers Association that Woolleys Plumbing is now on a register so if any other complaints are lodged against them there may be an investigation into their failure to meet their obligations to provide a fit for purpose service under the Australian Consumer Law.

Fixed a blocked pipe. They had tried twice to unblock with a machine which after the first time should have been an indication it was blocked and where. The crew turned up at different times everyday they were working and spent most of the time standing around. The bill was overpriced, the ad we found showed they owned their own machines and tools but charged us for the "hire" of tools and machines. When questioned about the invoice, we got the run around and nothing got solved. I wouldn't suggest this company to my enemy let alone a friend. I have actually advised friends not to hire them.

I wholeheartedly agree. They overcharge and underdeliver. More interested in the $'s to the detriment of customers. They do not guarantee their work and you are charged close to $200 for them to walk through the door. I too, are now telling friends and family to avoid.

Very true, and incredibly rude on the phone!

I have had a lot of work done by K & J Woolley's Plumbing over the years from sewer blockages, installation of new heater and repairs to storm water and general maintenance plumbing.
