A great overall concept and it was a rather fun experience. Went here at night and for lunch and I much prefer the night time dining with the little candles and seemed to be a little romantic and cosy.
The food was served in buffet style baine maries with tea lights on the bottom. All vegetarian food spread. It tasted ok given they were in baine maries but by the time you get to your table, the food gets cold very quickly. In all fairness I believe volunteers work here so you cannot really compare this to any experience where there are set prices.
Good but don't expect too much.

Fantastic concept for a restaurant (pay how much you think the meal is worth) and they do such fantastic work. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxed and the food is excellent. Worth a look just for the experience.

Love this place - not only is the food fantastic but it is a wonderful setting at the Abbotsford convent. Adding to that is the fantastic service it does for our community, supporting and training refugees and others who need skills and employment to get a start. You pay for what you feel the meal is worth and I do hope that people put in the box a decent amount as the food here is worth it!

The food here is lovely. I always want to give them my entire paycheck when I eat here, as they work so hard. It is a wonderful idea and I urge everyone to eat there at least once. I you love good vegetarian food, this is the place to go!

The food is buffet style. What food is on offer and how many varities of dishes varies each time. I guess it all depends on what food is available to them. I've had some good dishes and I've had some delicious dishes. Generally it's pretty yummy. They operate solely on donation so you pay what you think the food is worth (what you might pay at a restaurant).

Approximate cost: $Pay what you think it is worth

This place has always been a good vegetarian/vegan dining option. Recently it has improved in terms of service, staff, food & decor. Worth giving it a go, especially if the concept of reciprocity appeals to you.

Approximate cost: $pay as you feel

Worth a visit for the terrific value buffet. Food can be hit and miss, but bound to find something you like from the wide range of pasta, rice, vegetable curries or dahl and pay only what you feel it is worth. Great atmosphere, great concept and lovely location in grounds of Abbotsford Convent.

I love the food and the whole concept. I just hope that it will be there forever, as they do some amazing work at Lentils. The food is fresh, abundant and varied.
