An interesting and welcoming bar that delivers amazing cocktails, an impressive wine list and super cute little bits of food like sausage rolls and cupcakes. Worth the price as the atmosphere is memorable and the staff know their stuff.
Approximate cost: $15
While the drinks are a touch expensive, the place looks great and is certainly a unique place to grab a drink! Try and grab a table outside and enjoy the atmosphere
A charming rooftop bar on Bourke St with a delicious selection of cocktails and beers, and best of all jugs of drinks to share with friends and loved ones. Perfect for a gathering all year round, with amazing hot drinks and blankets in the cold Melbourne winters and refreshing cool cocktails in summer. The quality and value is always excellent.
Great fun place, gets busy at sundown as you would expect so can be hard to get a seat. Drinks are pricey, but worth popping in for one just for the experience
Melbourne's quirkiest night spot is Madam Brussels. A outside on the inside theme draws fake grass and tacky wallpaper while the waiters fanny around in country club attire all being perfect at their jobs. The waiters are very knowledgeable about cocktails etc and provide service to you while you sit under the stars atop the rooftop balcony. And even if you get the chills while outside you can grab one of the many blankets to keep warm! It's great for groups as jugs of cocktails become cheap and tasty options when shared between friends.
Good place, would recommend. Love the decor, they're all cocktail experts and good clean crowd. Right in the heart of the city too! A bit of attitude but you come to expect that these days
Went to a friend's birthday drinks event at Madame Brussels and found it to be a totally unique and fun experience. The whole place is a mix of pink, fake lawn, antique furnishings and somehow pulls it off as a totally funky and fun venue wihtout seeming to "try too hard". We sampled many (oh dear!) of the cocktails and fantastic punches on offer (they go by fantastic names such as "vanilla and fruit of the loins punch") - although not cheap at $25, a small jug of punch between two goes a fair way (maybe 3 glasses each), so I would suggest everything's fairly priced. We didn't eat here at all, but the Grotto (out the back) was a perfect venue for a group of 10+. Nice anc cosy in Melbourne's Winter too.
Approximate cost: $Drinks varied from $10+
