My favourite place for sushi train. They have a wide variety of sushi to choose from and it's fresh, but they can be quite pricey. They are also very crowded but it's worth a try.

Always my no. 1 choice in sushi train restaurant in Chatswood. The price are slightly higher than others but it worth. They will have some changes from time to time. waiting time is not too long though it seems to have many people always.

Freshly made sushis in from of you. Good variety to choose from. Can be very expensive if you don't pay attention to the colours of the plate.

One of the better sushi trains out there. Quality is better than most. The taste, not bad. Not too authentic but not too bad.

Always long queues waiting. Worth a try though.

I really like the variety of sushi that they offer. Sushi train can get a bit pricey, but I would normally get a few sushi dishes and order a main dish with rice that would fill me up. The sushi is quite fresh and it can be quite crowded at night.

I'm a little fussy with my Japanese food. No not super fussy, only a little, but fussy enough to know if the dish in front of me is authentic Japanese. (yes I lived in Japan some odd 10~11 years ago)

Quality of the food isn't exactly bad, I've had a lot worse, but considering how some dishes cost good 6~7 dollars, the sushi on the train aren't exactly appealing to me.

However, they do have their cheap discount nights during weekdays (they might not have these anymore, have not been there on weekdays in awhile sorry)

If you pick your sushi plates carefully you wouldn't be getting a enormous bill. Be ware of the colours of the plates, I've seen people confuse colours, thus prices.

Interior is nice, and clean, staffs will attend your need.
You may need to wait a lil on a busy night to be even seated.

If you stay with dishes below 5 dollars, I think you'd do just fine.

I didn't expect any service at this busy place as all Makotos aren't in the business to offer quality service and/or comfy dining experience.
However, I was truly disappointed by the food. It was alright when it first opened but quality has dropped tremendously since and I'm really surprised that it still commands a queue at their door.
There are better sushi places in Chatswood.

You don't come here for the service, you don't come here to have a nice dining experience of space or room to move. Or people talking in "restaurant voices."You don't come to Chatswood (the Cabramatta of the North Shore) because you like to be pushed into, or to show your kids how to form a orderly line.

You do come to Makoto for the food which is sublime and close to the best Japanese (Sushi train style or otherwise) in the land. Do try the Karaage Chicken and Soft Shell Crab - can take a while but it's worth the wait.

I would also add it's a bit more expensive then other places, which could be tough for families. But I would suggest it's worth every penny!

This place was brilliant when it first opened. Now queueing up for run of the mill sushi when so many other places are available is not worth the effort... BUT if there is no queue, go for it!
