Their food is really authentic and tastes great! I really like their fried chicken and rotis. However, the queues are way too long and sometimes you don't feel it's worth the wait.

Food is great, but not really worth the long queues you usually see. Pretty authentic though I am not a professional nor am I Malaysian. Recommend the fried noodles and Nasi Goreng.

Great flavour for Sydney Malaysian food. Quick friendly service and great food. Get there early for be at the front of the line of people. Well worth the effort.
My partner complains it is expensive, but that is because he is comparing it to hawker food in asia, but i think it is cheap in aussie terms and great flavour.

I love this place! The spicy foods are at just the right level - not too spicy, but spicy enough to get my appetite going, and the staff are super friendly (e.g. after taking your order, they'll say "thank you, we hope you'll enjoy your meal here at Mamak, and please let me know if there is something I could help you with" - something that most restaurants ignore and just walk away after taking your order!)

For Malaysian food, this place isn't cheap, but it definitely tastes great! Their stretch tea is particularly nice because it soothes the spiciness of the foods. I love it how they accept Amex credit cards too.

It's not hard to notice the long, long queue of people waiting outside the door. We decided we had to try it because of the long queue. We went on a Wednesday night and the wait wasn't too bad. We ordered chicken curry, original roti (get this) and a panang filled roti with ice-cream for dessert. The food was good, it was satisfying and it was cheap! It only came up to $27 even with a hot tea (which was really bitter and tasted slightly weird).
And while you are waiting, watch the guys make roti, it looks fun.

One of the best Malaysian restaurants around but the menu is a little small. It must be halal because I noticed there was no dishes which contained pork. Unfortunately, this includes char kway teow which is one of my favourite dishes. The curry is 100% authentic and delicious. Great food and fast service, once you finally get in.
I strongly recommend arriving at the beginning of service because the queue can be very long.

I can't quite figure out why this place has been so hyped. It's good, but seriously, there are lots of better, more authentic Malaysian restaurants in and around the city. You have to queue for ages to get a table here, they're way overpriced for the food, service and ambience you get, and their "famous" roti sucks! Every time I've had it it's been soggy - nothing like the amazing blend of greasy, crispy, flaky, fluffy and doughy goodness like you get in Malaysia/Thailand... or in certain restaurants in the Kingsford/Kensington area!
The fried chicken is really, really good though!

Speaking as a malaysian, their roti is excellent. $6 for roti canai is also dead cheap.

Once you've managed to get through the ridiculously long queue the service is fast, and the rotis, which are made to order, are one of the most authentic ones you can find outside of Malaysia. They are quite pricey compared to Malaysia but you would pay to get your hands on those buttery, flaky breads with curry dipping sauces. On a cold night make sure you try the hot teh halia or hot ginger tea. Roti tissue is another favourite, a cone of tissue thin sweet crispy bread served with ice cream
