This is one of the greatest little noodle bars I have ever frequented. The staff are exceptionally friendly and the noodles are delicious. They are very helpful when it comes to working with you to customize a dish as well, which is something I do often, partly because I'm gluten intolerant and partly because I just like to be a little adventurous sometimes. This place is a real hit among myself and my friends when a cheap and delicious meal is on the cards.

(Try their new Potato Prawns as an accompaniment to any of the noodle/rice dishes. They are very yummy with some sweet chili sauce.)

I was quite excited when I heard that this place was opening. They, rather boldly, opened up right next door to one of Melbourne's cheapest computer hardware stores, MSY Technologies. With prices to match and a new standard for customer service, they instantly became my favourite place to shop. I must say that they've done very well to remain in business while maintaining a higher standard of customer service in spite of who they are competing with. Very highly recommended.

I've been shopping at MSY Box Hill for as long as it's been there. It was wonderful in the beginning before it became just another busy MSY like all the others in Melbourne. As others have pointed out, they're great if you know exactly what you want. But CALL FIRST. One of the most common criticisms of this and any of their other stores is that their price list does not accurately reflect what they actually have in stock. This is a side effect of their decision to use a single price list for all of their stores.

Customer service is sometimes decent but often terrible. As they are typically very busy they don't always answer the phone so you need to keep calling if you're checking to see if they have something in stock. To be honest, as soon as PCDIY opened up next door I've been buying the majority of computer stuff from them, only resorting to MSY if they don't have what I need. Like a lot of consumers I'm happy to pay a tiny bit extra for a more pleasant purchasing experience and better after sales support, and in this case we're typically only talking a couple of dollars.

In the end however I have to say that everyone has benefited from the presence of MSY. They've driven prices down to the point where computer swap meets (which used to be an integral part of each and every weekend for me) have become all but obsolete for anything other than second-hand parts. These days you can get even better prices every single day of the week.

This review is for IGA Friendly Grocers, Box Hill VIC

Anyone who lives in the area loves this little beauty of a supermarket. Not everything inside is cheap, but if you're after a good deal on your favourite poison, they are likely to have it. Yes, they are licensed, and when it comes to alcohol they have the best prices in the area.

Run by a vietnamese family who are a great friendly bunch of people and always happy to help, it's probably the greatest little supermarket I've ever frequented.

Also along this strip you'll find a good old fashioned green grocer, a butcher/deli, a post office, chemist, newsagency, cafe, fish 'n Chip shop and a noodle bar (try their "Thai Me Up" dish, it's delicious). Hands down the greatest little shopping strip in the Box Hill area.

This review is for Melbourne's Cheapest Cars, Moorabbin VIC

I've bought two cars from these guys and the experience has always been excellent. All cars are meticulously detailed and the service is exceptional. Probably one of the most compelling reasons to buy from Melbourne's Cheapest Cars however is the quality of the extended manufacturers warranty they offer through Allianz. I spent quite a significant amount of time researching used car warranties recently (most of which border on being a complete waste of money) and nothing I found even came close. Do you own research of course (they have an Allianz warranty guy on site to answer any questions) but I can say with confidence that this is a legitimate and truly decent product that doesn't force you to navigate an obstactle course that seems designed to ensure that you inadvertently void it somehow.

Aside from the above I doubt you'll find more decent second hand cars in one place anywhere else in Melbourne. The vast majority of them are ex-fleet vehicles often with higher K's than what you'd expect, but what a lot of people don't understand about the used car equation is that ex-fleet vehicles are typically meticulously maintained and in many cases have been serviced more frequently than the manufacturers recommendations. Personally I'd take a well serviced ex-fleet vehicle over something else with lower K's any day of the week. Having said all that, the last car I bought from them was a 2006 BF Falcon with 83 on the clock so if you really can't stomach a well driven vehicle there'll still be a bunch of options there for you.

Honestly, if you're in the market for a late model used vehicle, you'd be crazy not to at least check these guys out.

Been into this store on two occasions and the customer service has always been fantastic. Decent prices, decent people. What more can you ask?

This review is for Donnellans The Tyre Men, Box Hill VIC

These guys seem to be exceedingly efficient at processing. But that's all they seem to do really. Process process process. If you already know exactly what you want they're probably really good. They're very busy so they obviously do a lot of business. But don't expect to wander in and have anything resembling a friendly and reasonably paced conversation with them. They just don't seem to have the time for it and that's exactly how they make you feel.

During my last visit to the Box Hill store I eventually put through an order for some alloys + some decent tyres. But after driving away and reflecting upon my experience I quickly realized that I just didn't feel good about any of it. Being a rather principled consumer I decided that I just couldn't reward such terrible customer service with my business. As soon as I arrived home I called them back to cancel the order. They didn't ask why and didn't really seem fussed about it. Later that afternoon I dropped my $1500 on a good deal somewhere else and feel a whole lot better about it.

Bottom line: Donnellans didn't care enough about my business to treat me like a customer, so they didn't get it. In the end I got the same rims and equally suitable tyres elsewhere, and for a better price.

Approximate cost: $0.00
