On Wednesday 14th February 2024 somebody used my card fraudulently to purchased a $100 Gift Certificate so I called them on Friday 23rd February 2024 and I spoke to a manager to explain with had happened but he refused to help me and he was extremely rude and abusive to me so I would definitely avoid this place. On Monday 26th February 2024 I lodged a payment dispute with my financial institution against them. On Wednesday 27th March 2024 the dispute was closed in my favour so I got to keep the credit of $101.00. On Thursday 4th April 2024 I called them and I spoke to a supervisor who cancelled the Gift Certificate after I explained that I thought I paid by Credit Card for the booking on Friday 1st March 2024 because I told her I made an honest mistake. I will be using Alba Hot Springs in the future because the manager there is helpful and he listens to me when I try and explain things also I have heard it is a more positive and pleasant experience.
We have been going to the spring on a regular basis since it first opened and have had many good experiences and watched it grow.
I'm so very disappointed when after the covid period and then some serious health issues the lack of compassion in honoring 2 gift voucher ($200) that have expired.
I was told the the system does allow them to use the voucher once they have passed the expiry date (who are they kidding all systems can be over ridden) and that they follow the ACCC regulations. Was also told I should have called before the expiration date unfortunately I was preoccupied with my health. Clearly it's up to your discretion.
Is the money grab worth losing long time costumers. Just keep spending on advertising, word of mouth is so much stronger.
Sorry to say but its goodbye from me, and I'm sure many of my family and friends also.
PS We're Locals!
Great variety of relaxing bathing options surrounded by beautiful nature.
Booked and got sick but not allowed for a refund even a medical cert provided. Should reconsider a refund option in this case
I went there with Kellie this morning and I had a Margarita Pizza to eat with a Skinny Hot Chocolate to drink and she shared the Margarita Pizza with me with a soda water to drink as well also we went for a swim in the Pools.
Approximate cost: $110
Pathetic place. If you want Covid, this is a place for it. No option of negative rating else not worth of one star also.
2 of our group got covid from this place.
Reason : No hygiene.
Most people normally have a separate towels in the family to maintain hygiene.
But here where hundreds of people bathing, they give Bath robes of one size, one colour with no identification.
When we entered first pool, after few minutes, all our dried bathrobes gone and we have to wear the wet robes of others.
Same thing on the second pool. Other people literally caught few exchanging robes and had a heated arguments.
So you wear different robes after coming out of each pool. People don't bother and they don't care whose robes they are wearing.
Imagine how you will feel wearing someone else wet robes. It's yukkkky but no choice.
People cough, spit, use robe to clean face and what not.
The simple rules could have prevented this.
1. Having number on each robe and noting it at the time of entry.
2. Asking to return the same number else fined for not doing so.
Good when it's not completely busy and full. Avoid on the days they offer their 'specials' and weekends. Relaxing otherwise
This is a great venue to de-stress. I loved the different themes and walk-ways. Yes it is pricey but it's super good and therapeutic for mind, body and spirit.
this is the most relaxing place. i love coming here with my family. the scenery is amazing and they have provided good service.
Love the hot springs, relaxing hot pools and cooler pools. The tubs are really fun to sit in. If only the price didn't keep getting higher! it's great when there isn't so many people as pools can get very crowded and noisy.
Love it here! I prefer to go in the evening, as there are less people and little to no children. I have my favourite pools but can't deny that they are all divine. Only been to the public side but can't see how private side could be any better. as it is already amazing. relaxing, tranquil, and lovely
love the atmosphere
I would not recommend buying gift vouchers from Peninsula Hot Springs. There was a 12 month expiry on a gift voucher I had and no flex on this even though I was pregnant so couldn't use the voucher for the bulk of the valid timeframe. A $400+ gift voucher was rendered null and void as soon as the voucher expired. I can understand an additional payment may be needed if prices of a package go up, but I feel to render it worthless post expiry is nothing short of criminal.
Approximate cost: $400
This is my little treat when I'm at my home away from home. It can be expensive though and sometimes very crowded with holiday makers.
I bought their most popular 1 hour massage package plus bathing pass for me and my partner. I would have to say this is the most expensive massage I ever paid for but the worst massage I ever had in Melbourne so far. 'you get what you pay for' is proven to be wrong in this case. Almost $200 per head I was told at the time of booking that they only do massage with light to medium strength nothing would be hard. But I was reassure that all the therapists are qualified and will do pressure points and know what they are doing and we would surely enjoy the massage. However, both me and my partner were extremely disappointed. Not that it is not really an hour massage by the time they explained everything, mug around with changing and waiting etc etc etc. In fact this does not matter that much to us if it is genuine a good massage but the worst thing is we could not feel a thing about the massage. It was so light even my 10 years old at home could do better than that. It was just like fingers running through your skin and no pressure applied. We were asked a few times if the towels were ok on us or the temperature of the heat pack was ok, never once asked if the pressure applied is right. We thought they know what they were doing so did not raise the issue and hoping the best was still to come and was shocked it was finished so quick and none of our body part had felt like been massaged. It was supposed to be a full body massage but we didn't even get to have a head massage. It was so quick and light and we didn't feel we had a massage, not even a relaxation one. The most expensive body touch we ever had! Very disappointing and would never go back for the massage. If you love your massage this is not the place for you. If you like your body to be touched and called it massage, it might be ok. Maybe it is for tourists as they can't normally go back anyway!! Not for local and regular massage fans!
Having been there before, I was excited to book a full day of pampering to celebrate my partner's birthday.
After a series of horrific events, my relationship broke down and we separated the evening before the booking. I contacted the Hot Springs immediately - in my absolute devastation I was mindful of not inconveniencing them and also not losing the $1200 I had paid. My contact went ignored until the following morning. The response I received was essentially that my family needed to have fallen apart within 24 hours and they'd either keep my money or I SHOULD COME DOWN ANYWAY! In the midst of a family breakdown, an emotional breakdown, kids to manage, no sleep... I should drive the 45 minutes to Fingal in a storm for a massage. I raised how absolutely appalled I was by this. The lack of concern for safety, the lack of compassion and humanity... it's truly disgusting.
[redacted due to inflammatory statement]. They did nothing to earn my $1200. I didn't even ask for a refund - I asked TWELVE HOURS BEFORE A BOOKING (and 16 hours before the actual scheduled treatments) if they could be moved to another day! One would think there is room for discretion when a fellow human being is suffering.
Absolutely disgusting. For a wellbeing business they do not care AT ALL about people's wellbeing. Go to [redacted - mentions alternative business by name] instead. This is the most appalling and compasionless business I have ever encountered. I am happy to provide copies of the correspondence to anyone who asks so that you can see for yourselves who you do business with if you give these monsters your money.
How awful for you. Certainly not what you needed at an already stressful time. They are such terrible business operators. They have ripped my family off of $400+ by deeming a gift voucher void post expiry. So they have taken our money without giving us any service. Crooks if you ask me. I'm onto Consumer Affairs about them. I had a similar experience to you with Managers not being available to talk to and no empathy for the fact I was pregnant during 9 of the 12 months in which my voucher was valid. Horrible.
Overall I liked this place and I felt the price adequately reflected the experience. I think the temperatures need to be adjusted in winter however. A pool with 36 degree water is simply not warm enough, this was proven by the amount of people cramming into the two 40+ degree pools which are TINY! This leads me onto my next gripe, when we arrived we were informed there were 28 pools in the bath house area. I counted 16 and that included the mini rock pools which are features, not actual spa pools. We went at 12pm on a Wednesday and I'd say it was at about 80% capacity with each pool having maybe 1-2 spots left (elbow to elbow) with people/couples/groups queuing up waiting for someone to leave... not a nice feeling on either end of the spectrum. All in all, it was a pleasant experience for the price paid ($70 for a couple) but I wouldn't be in a huge hurry to return.
Approximate cost: $70
Was able to go with a group from uni which made it really cheap. This place was so calm and relaxing, I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time. It's a great place to take some time off and rejuvenate.
Have been twice, once with some friends and sadly while we had booked a private spa but when we arrived they didn't have a private spa available and we ended up going to the open area. Second time I was given a voucher so thought I would try them again, ended up in a pokey private spa that was very uninviting and we were told we couldn't talk as it may disturb the people next door. Smelt of mildew and barley enough room for 2 in the spa and we are small people. Will not return again.
what is wrong with the open areas?
I go here every year, for a bathe and massage... this place is AMAZING! even though the price is abit pricey.. but the place is lovely! best to go bathe in the evening ! :)
I love this place- I have already spread the word at my workplace, and its worth the drive out. I recently have used the spa centre and the staff there were just amazing - very knowledgable about the history of the place, the products they offer and weren't rushed about the experience at all. The Spa centre itself it such a calm and relaxing environment to recharge - i just wish I stayed down that way instead of having to drive back, in order to enjoy the whole facility properly. The hot baths itself is a great treat on the weekend and the top bath offers the best panoramic views out onto the whole countryside. The facilities I think are excellent, clean and well maintained. The staff are also great in this area too.
Had the best massage I have ever had here, wonderful place to come and relax. Only problem is the spa services are pricy and the hot springs are getting busier each time I go. Go early for the easiest parking and to relax with less people.
My partner and I went here recently. We booked well in advance for a one hour massage and bathe. Its not really cheap but we love going here, its so relaxing. We bathe for an hour or so first, and then we head to the massage waiting room. We have the massage at the same time in the same room. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. And we feel great afterwards. The springs are warm and relaxing. Some pools are hotter than others. And there is a plunge pool, which is very cold. The atmosphere is lovely. Parking can be hard to get, it fills up quickly.
This is an amazing place, it's not too expensive as you get entry for about $30, if you don't get a locker and hire a towel. I have been quite a few times particularly during the colder months and the entry gives you the time to leisurely hang around in the pools until you decide to leave.
I think that having such longer opening hours is great as you can linger longer during the summer months. I went in winter and just wandered from pool to pool. I had such a fantastic time I brought a friend along and told everyone at work about it. I have friends and staff members that go at least once a month now!
The best has got to be the pool at the top, you meander up through the steps at get up to see this amazing view.. which on a nice sunny day just makes you feel like you're on holiday someplace else.
I love going here just for a couple of hours as the drive and the experience of the hot springs always gives me that needed rest and relaxation so i can face the rest of the week!
Approximate cost: $30
Dont forget to book!!!....or wait in line. Had one hour relaxation massage last week. totally fantastic. Then dip into the hotsprings. Everyone loves this place 5 stars for sure. But it's not cheap. There are few places in the world like this...you must try it once. Very relaxing. Try the local wines and food is great!
This is heaven on earth. I spent my time there at the Dreaming centre and enjoyed their Kodo massage (60 min). The baths are of varying degrees so you can find one that suits you. The surroundings are lovely and you can watch the birds while you bathe.
The change rooms are clean and they have wristband locks for their lockers so you don't need to worry about what to do with a key while you're bathing. The showers there have everything you need - shower gel, shampoo & conditioner.
As for the massage, you begin by entering the relaxation room where you wait for someone to collect you. They have those egg-shaped swings or couches if you prefer. There is gorgeous relaxation music, a lovely aroma, and candles. When your therapist comes to collect you, you are greeted with a warm and friendly smile. They take you back through the bathing area to your room for the massage. And that is where your life changes. You enter there with all your tension but when you leave you are floating on air. When the massage was completed, you return to the relaxation room where you are offered tea and water and just sit back and enjoy your new-found peace. My husband and I never wanted to leave!
The Kodo massage was one of the best I've ever received. They got to all the important areas. I entered stiff and sore and left relaxed and loose. My tension and pain was completely gone.
This is a must do for everyone! Do the Kodo massage. You won't regret it. If you can, allow for a minimum 3-4 hours (inc massage) while you are there, but I encourage longer. We are going to return next month because it was so good!
I recommend coming to Peninsula hot springs its the place to go to relax on the mornington peninsula. The mineral baths range in temperature from hot to cold and there is a sauna. There is a range of packages you can purchase to suit your visit whether it be with family/friends or a nice quiet afternoon getting a massage and having a meal. My favourite place to be is the hilltop view were there is a spa bath and the most amazing view you have to get your spot quickly and watch the sunset. Prices are not cheap but you will not be disappointed and you will come out feeling lovely, relaxed and refreshed.
This place is absolutely divine! Am absolute must go!! They have several 'pools' with all different temperatures ranging from icy cold to boiling hot! it is so nice to relax in these pools. They also have massage and a nice place to enjoy a meal. You a purchase 'packages' through them as well which is usually a massage, meal and as long as you like in the hot springs. I wouldn't recommend young children as the water is quite hot but it is the most relaxing place ever! Lets put it this way....best sleep I had in sooo long!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Peninsula hot Springs! Set out in a beautiful location it is the most relaxing place to go. You have to places to choose from The bath House or the spa dreaming centre. So many mineral pools to choose from with different temperatures. Also has sauna and steam room. When you are there you dont wanna leave! Price is worth every cent
I love this place! It is so calming, so relaxing and very clean.
The level of service is dictated by the package ($$) you choose, but the end result is always the same. A relaxing day / night out.
I have been for both the Dine and Bathe and the discounted after 7pm general entry.
Recommend the hot springs to anyone who needs a little R&R
Approximate cost: $50
I think i spent $13 for all day bathing and a robe. It was heaven. Springs all the way up the mountain for an amazing view. Steam room included and a reflexology walk ( different types of rocks to walk along, couldn't go past the third kind was a bit too painful for me)
Great day out. so relaxing your skin will never feel better
Approximate cost: $10
