The food tasted delicious and was very nicely presented. Staff were nice and friendly but they did take a long time to serve us. Food here is nice but do expect to pay heightened prices.

nice, quite expensive restaurant but worth it if you're here for quality food

i found the atmosphere maybe a bit too dark lighting wise, but overall not too bad - we were seated near the chefs so there was something to look at

service was great, no problems there

food was amazing, the wagyu beef basically melted in my mouth

wouldn't recommend the potatoes for sides was pretty ordinary, would definitely say i loved the caramelized baby onions though

I had heard Rockpool had one of the best burgers in Melbourne and as I am currently on a burger quest I had to try it. I certainly wasn't disappointed it was fantastic! Featuring a 100% pure bred wagyu patty the beef was juicy and cooked perfectly and the bun complimented it well. It's expensive for a burger at $24 but worth it. This is certainly a place for special occasions or business lunches as it is very nice place to spoil yourself with an expensive steak.

We just celebrated my father-in-law's 70th birthday at Rockpool and what a great night! Given it's not a restaurant geared towards vegetarians, I was pretty happy with what I had - the tortellini was absolutely lovely, and they removed the prawns & reduced the price for me :) My husband and father-in-law had 36-month fillets and they both oooo'd and aaaah'd over them. You get to pick sauces to try - and my husband picked them all! :) My mother-in-law got the lobster omlette (asked for it to come out as a main) and she says that's one of the best dishes ever. Sides are large, tasty. We had 2 bottles of chardonnay ($40/each) ... overall, I think a great value for such a lovely place. The only thing I thought was a bit odd -- they charged us a CC surcharge .... you'd think at this level of dining, they'd just add that into their menu prices and not tack it on at the end. Anyway, I'd happily go back given they cater to both herbivores and carnivores - and the service was fantastic! Great for a special night!

Very expensive place to eat even if it is situated in the Crown complex I had the Hand Cut Linguini with Spanner Crab and
Spicy Prawn Oil which was delicious but $32 and my husband had just an entree of Fried Calamari, Radicchio and
Chilli Salad with Romesco for $26 and they were the cheapest on the menu. Even though their food is fresh and organic $26 for 4 bits of calamari is ridiculous. Won't be coming back here again

Words cannot describe what a beautiful place this is.

We have eaten here several times, and have tried a few different dishes. Steak is my partner's favourite, and EVERY TIME it is cooked exactly as ordered. I lean toward the chicken and pasta dishes, all of which are just gorgeous.

We have not had dessert here, as we never have enough room left... BUT... do NOT leave without a salted caramel!

YUM

I can't wait to recommend this place to more people and go again myself. Not usuallya steak eater, I actually ordered pasta, however after tasting my husband's perfectly cooked steak I would absolutely order it from here. The ambiance is great, the wait staff are professional and attentive, offering suggestions when asked and explaining how the menu worked. Our glasses were never empty and the food is amazing!

I took my partner here for his 25th birthday and it was such a memorable evening. We were seated at an intimate table that was never noisy and nice mood lighting. The waiters know their product and are very friendly. Our steak and chicken was delicious and filling, the bread was so fresh and the desserts were delicious. That salted caramels are so nice, so if you can squeeze something in at the end of the meal try them! Rockpool is definitely for a special occasion as it isn't cheap, but it will be a meal to remember.

My husband and I went here for lunch after receiving a $200 gift certificate from a close friend. I didn't think lunch for 2 could ever come close to costing $200, but by the time we had entree, $55 fillet steak each, two sides and a dessert each, we were already over.
Having said that, the food was really amazing and we couldn't actually fit it all in (my passionfruit pavlova slice was the size of my head).
The service was friendly, although we did have to flag down the waiter/waitress on a couple of occasions after waiting too long.
The atmosphere was also good.

Approximate cost: $40-100
