GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY AND FRIENDLY STAFF.

The IMAX cinema is the best place to see blockbuster movies.

The food is cheap and delicious too.

Went down to South bank cinema and was worried about parking, but they have their own parking and they let you stay there for four hours free, lovely staff and a clean place,

The staff are horrifically rude.
After seeing my movie and going to validate my parking the two men working the counter informed me that since I had been outside the cinema before coming back in to validate the parking they believed I was lying about having seen a movie and I wouldnt be able to leave without paying $35 for parking. When I tried to explain what happened they informed me that I was a liar and they didn't care what I had to say.
I hope you consider this before going there. It made a nice trip to the movies horrifically expensive and ruined it all. I certainly won't be back.

One of the cheapest cinemas in Brisbane but still provides a high quality theater experience. The seats are not up to the standard of some of the more expensive cinemas.

Always good for a cheap night out. $8.50 instead. Of $16-18 at event cinemas. We usually go to a 7 pm movie on sat night and go across the rd to a choice of eateries, sushi, lebanese, cafe on the boardwalk. Easy walk from the station, parking is cheaper after 6 pm. The old imax theatre in there is awesome. The foyer is always clean, toilets clean, snacks are pricey byo lol .seats can get a bit uncomfy in long sessions but all in all its a good night out

South bank Cinema is my first option whenever I wanted to watch a movie. You can choose to order the tickets online or just buy it at the counter. I would recommend an online booking for more popular movies as they are sold out really quick.

These cinemas are very good value, i went to see despicable me on the weekend, large screen, friendly enough staff but not amazing. As i went during the school holidays it was very busy and they sold out of most movies at the time i was there.

This really is a top cinema. Not only are the cinems large, the screens big and of quality, the sound great, the tickets cheap, the staff friendly and parking good value but the Candy bar is super affordable too. They have a great range of movies at all times, just about every session time is packed and there are plenty of restaurants in the area too.

I've now moved on to Melbourne and this cinema would be greatly appreciated here. Please build a cinema in Melbourne!!!

what a comples i have been here a few times and love the experience , price are the best for this city 8.5 per ticket is nothing to sneeze at , they are centrally situated and are close to public transport so use that rather than parking as that is the killer . close to the markets on the weekend and many fine food places from chineese to the norm including nandos so check it out they also have a variety of snacks and drinks , the movies they have are a great range from new releases to the oldies

This is pretty much the only place I go to see movies, excluding when I am given gift vouchers as gifts for other places.
They are crazy cheap compared to other places (like $8.50 for adults, cheaper for students, and on Tuesdays and during the day) for the ticket itself and also for the food products that you can purchase there.
They have 5 cinemas and heaps of variety in the movies that they show. It's not like you only get old movies or anything, they have all the new releases and really good times that they are on - exactly the same in every way to other cinemas but half the price.
The location is fabulous, there are heaps of eating venues around to grab dinner before or after the film, and free parking under the complex for up to 4 hours if you see a film and get your parking ticket validated. If you go over the 4 hours you get hammered with parking, so be careful of that (it is $35, so completely kills the cheap movie experience if you get hit with it). You can also park in Southbank and walk over, the general parking there is only $15 so with the ticket and food savings you still really come out on top, if you are car pooling.
The cinemas themselves are comfortable, good chairs, easy to snuggle with your partner if you want, and lots of room. The screens are nice and clear and big.
They do ask that you take all your rubbish with you and put it in the bins when you leave. I am a bit of a crazy on this whenever we go - to keep the venue cheap they count on their customers to do the right thing and not trash the place, because they don't have as many staff there to clean up. That does sometime mean if you see a later show on a busy day the cinema isn't entirely spotless, but I really don't blame the staff for that, customers need to take responsibility for their inability to keep their popcorn in their mouth.
While yes the main advantage of this place (and the other Cineplex cinemas around Brisbane) is the cheap ticket, you really don't have to compromise and lose other features like you might think. Definitely a great family friendly outing that won't send you broke.

Probably one of the cheapest cinemas in town! Some of the best movies was watched in the imax sized theatre.

Some of the peak times it can get really busy so if you don't like the crowds, best to go during the non peak times.

Definitely would come here again! :)

Very good value for money. Tickets are only $8.50 for adults at a cinema which is very good and in a nice condition. They allow non hot food and drink (except coffee) to be brought in, or you can buy from their relatively cheap candy bar.

Cheap as chips but the best quality. Tickets here are so cheap. I honestly don't know why people go to the more expensive ones. This place is just as nice, looks good and is well kept. Their chocolate milkshakes are lovely! Free parking if you show your ticket and are out within 4 hours. What more could you want?

You need to check out South Bank Cineplex. Why I hear you ask, well to start movie prices. Children and Pens are $4.50, students are $6.50 and adults are $7.50 (and yes these are EVERY DAY prices, not specials). Snack bar large popcorn is $4.50 and as to the sizes their small is nearly as big as a BCC large. Easily accessible by public transport, car park is very small but it is FREE by showing your movie ticket! Great destination place if you wanna make a day of it cause right near Southbank and weekend markets. Also have sister cinemas at Balmoral, Hawthorne and Victoria Point if you want to drive. Been going to this place myself since I took 2 adults, 2 pensioners and 4 children out and got dinner, movie tickets and movie drinks and snacks to watch the Lion King for the same price as just getting tickets at BCC cinemas. Very busy place so make sure your early but still very clean and tidy. Check it out and I promise you won't be disappointed!!

Great venue, comfortable and fairly priced. Long queues though and no eftpos facilities to make sure you take enough cash in with you. (Although there is an atm right outside the doors) Good selection of beverages too.

Cineplex at Southbank offers great value for money. I am willing to drive that little bit further to get to it to know the amount of money I will be saving. $3 parking is also offered, which makes it attractive. I can also see my favourite movies on the Imax screen from time to time, making it the ultimate viewing experience.
