The sushi here is fresh and very well priced, the pricing makes it one of the more appealing local places in the area but it gives also a good variety of sushis.

The most exciting part about this sushi restaurant is the fact that every plate is $3.30! To top it off the sushi is always so fresh and tasty. I love that you can order plates, sides and drinks from an iPad in front of you and they bring them to you fresh. My favourite is the prawn katsu that comes with a creamy egg garnish. When ordered fresh it always comes warm and crispy from the pan. I always find myself leaving full of food and only have to spend around $15!

The sushi at Sushi Hotaru is deliciously fresh and quite affordable. I love the sashimi. I love that you can order using a touch screen. The service is warm and welcoming.

I came here for lunch on a weekday while in the city. I had a few avocado sushi rolls and the udon noodle soup. All are ordered through a touch screen or you can choose from the sushi train. Affordable and comfortable place to dine casually.

Best place for sushi and at cheap prices!! Love this place and would recommend it to anyone!!
I always order the scampi when im there, mmm the best ever!
Most sushi places around the CBD are overpriced and dont taste that good but Hotaru is well worth the money spent.

I love going to Hotaru for Japanese sushi. Almost all of the dishes are only $3 each which is quite a good deal! My favourite $3 dishes includes the raw scampi, takowasabi and the grilled scallop. I can eat 4 dishes of scampi each time I visit as they are just so sweet and fresh. They have an extensive menu which includes udon, sashi, ramen to desserts. The staff are quick and efficient, taking orders from you the dishes aren't on the sushi train belt. I prefer to order the sushi myself so they make it for me right away to ensure its freshness, and the seaweed is still crispy. The place can be very full during peak hour, you will need to get a ticket. I find the seats are too small and there isn't space to put my bags. However, I will definitely go back for their $3 dishes!

I was expecting a lot more from this place to be honest.

We get $2.50, per dish sushi train at Chatswood. After reading some reviews I thought the sushi quality would be quite up there. Well, I'd say they were better than the $2.50 dishes but only marginally.

A huge portion of rotation were not nigiri. Of course this is expected with all sushi trains, but I expect to see 5 different types of nigiri, then may be some california rolls followed by chicken karage, several different nigiri followed by green pea pods or something.

For $3, it really isn't all that bad, but definitely falls short from being a top notch sushi train. Service was acceptable at best, had to wait a little while to order my drink, and believe me, i'm 6 feet 1, you can't miss me.

If you're in the Galeries and looking for a quick feed, Sushi Hotaru is the place to go. Their plates start from a mere $3, and the quality is decent. I will admit that I have had superior tasting sushi, but Sushi Hotaru puts up a good fight. Their chicken sushi plates are my favourites, and my friends have recommended the eel to me on numerous occasions (I'm just too squeamish).

The only drawback of this sushi train is the seating arrangements. I have been here with a group of 4 people, and we were seated in a row. I find this annoying as it makes for difficult conversation. Nonetheless, the cheap sushi makes up for it.

At $3 a plate for a sushi train, what more could you ask for? I LOVE the takoyaki here it is delicious especially when it's hot. Although i did wish they had potato croquettes, nevertheless if you're in the area. Great place for lunch!
