This place is always a great choice when I can't decide what I want for dinner ...
It's got a wide selection of dishes ... some Aussie-fied traditionals like Butter Chicken but also some authentics too.
Vegetarian options are always delicious!
Combine it with a mango lassi & you're set!

Great little spot for casual dining, food was better than I expected, large portions however so consider sharing a main if you're not a big eater .. terrific value for money. Staff are really helpful

I started going to the North Indian Diner years ago and it is getting better and better. Although there is nothing all that different it's still very tasty food with yummy Naan bread and a special mango yogurt drink. It really is tried and tested food and usually very satisfying.

This is a really big restaurant with heaps of seating. This is great if you are dining by yourself and want some space and privacy. I've been here a few times, and I've found the food delicious and tasty, you can even smell the aroma of curry just walking past on King St. A favourite of mine is the butter chicken. The only downside to Tamana's, in my opinion, is that it's a little bit pricey. From memory I got a very small plastic container of curry for around the $8 mark. (with Naan)

This is a really big place and I think that is what the main problem is because the quality of food is not that good. The have a big variety of dishes which are below par especially in comparison to other places nearby. I have not been in the upstairs portion so it maybe better but the downstairs one is no better then of the pretty ordinary indian takeaways available in the city. When I visited the service was really really slow even though it was pretty much empty.

This used to be my regular stop when heading out for drinks in newtown, get a curry when you get up there. They have a wide selection and quite a few dish combos which is great when you want a mix. There is always a table and the service is fast, however i have found that due to being so popular they dont put as much effort into their dishes anymore since they have to produce a lot for the busy restaurant downstairs. Having said that you get a lot on your plate and i have never walked out hungry or unsatisfied. I have not been upstairs yet (new renovations), you may receive a different or more traditional menu there. The prices are decent, but there are definitely some better priced indian choices in the area.
