This doesn't even deserve a rating - we made a booking for 6 (as we are a family of six), only to be told that we were wrong and it was for 4. The manager was rude, arrogant and made absolutely no attempt to rectify his mistake. He also accused us as being 'wrong'. We walked out, afraid if we requested to be sat, that our food would be compromised. Worst service I have ever received. I wouldn't speak to my worst enemy the way the manager spoke to me and my family. Would NEVER GO BACK.

Although we do our out most to please all our customers, we do not accept abusive behavior.
Our record in service and food quality speaks for itself.

We never booked for 10 - why would we? There is only 6 in our family and it was my mother's birthday, and despite calling to confirm twice, apparently we are still wrong. The response from the restaurant only confirms that we will never go back. We were trying to be nice, but when we were told we were wrong and the owner made no attempt to rectify the situation, of course we got upset, especially since we travelled from Ringwood. Luckily, Zum Zums in Carlton North, bent over backwards to cater for us, despite being booked out. And after all the drama, my mother got her birthday dinner (even if it was 9pm before we were seated).

I agree with FionaD, I also visited the Abyssinian and had a very similar thing happen. The owner was EXTREMELY rude to me, i would never go back here either. What happened to the customer is always right!!

Very small restaurant but very popular. Must make a booking to gain a seat/table on a Friday night. We visited as a large Girls night out group and shared a communal style banquet. This was recommend to most people on the night. Beautiful food and plenty for all. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Good well cooked food, with excellent service and overall great value for money. Best Ethiopian restaurant I have been to and happy to recommend. This kind of diversity of dining choices is why I love Melbourne.

Approximate cost: $15

The food was good and the couple who run it are friendly and efficient. They also have half a dozen new and interesting Ethiopian beers to try. What's not to like!! We had the platter which you should definitely order.

Relaxed, friendly and very yummy. Each time we go we have the chef's choice, as it gives you a great selection of meat and vegie courses. The Ethiopian beer is also really yummy.

Ethiopian cuisine from the Horn of Africa. Superb stews and meat dishes spiced with berbera spices, served with injera bread..... eaten with your fingers (if you so choose, otherwise cutlery is available)... the owners are friendly and will try to accomodate your requests... the tasting platter is a good introduction to the restaurant as you will get a taste of everything .

Approximate cost: $16
