Purchased a voucher to tried some kind of keratin and colour treatment. Don't ever go there no matter how cheap or good the voucher sound! The place was dirty, hair everywhere, chairs were stained with dye, towels do not look clean. The so called hairdresser, or school drop outs were rude, useless, unprofessional. Never had a keratin done before, but it had to be the worse hair straighten method. Was asked to wait at the sink with my head back for like forever, I nearly hurt my back bending like that! Then they basically just used straightener like home, I was worried about them burning me! the girl who blow dry my hair nearly burn my head and hair since she was too busy checking her bum out at the mirror! When it was hurting I said ouch and she just gave me a dirty look and continue to pull my hair to dry! Colour job was like a home job, I could have done a better job! And they demanded I have to purchased their hair products as the keratin treatment needs it, what a bunch of cons!!! Lucky the shampoo and conditioner was nice and actually did a better job than those useless people at the salon! DON'T EVER GO TO THIS SALON FOR ANYTHING!

i bought a groupon voucher for foils and a cut - had to wait months for an appointment (to be expected) and when i finally got there i waited for an hour before anyone saw me (again they were REALLY busy)... but once i got some attention the hairdresser gave me one of the best cuts i have had in ages and i am looking to go back now - well done girls, and let it be a lesson to you that there are some really horrible people out there, its no reflection on your business, it simply reflects on what catty people they are, and they treat everyone else with the same level of rudeness as they do you

I've now been to this hair dressers 3 times and will have booked for my 4th time. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this business! These girls are BUSY all the time (great sign!) and yes the phone may be hard to get through on and appointments may be hard to get but that's also a good sign! I've had colours, straightens, conditioning treatments, cuts and even had my hair curled there for my daughters engagement party and i've always left there happy. The place is very busy but the girls are always helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I book my next treatment before i leave there and that way there's no problem getting a booking. An last but not least the prices are fantastic value for money.

Great for blow waves and basic colour treatments, but if you're after anything more complicated, forget it. Had been going there for sometime, but the difficulty in making appointments (due to phones not being answered), and the long waiting times once you actually get to there, have put me off for good. The great level of service they provided when they first opened is long gone.

I'm keeping this short because I have already written a huge complaint on another website and it amazingly got deleted. Isn't it funny how only the good reviews remain on some sights? The Secret Hair Code should be shut down! They store all of their dryers and straighteners on the floor, which for starters is an OH&S issue. They do not clean any of their brushes. My main issue is that I now have blue streaks in my hair. I wanted an all over colour of light brown, so the 'colourist' told me she would have to put blue over the lighter bits so the brown would stick. I now have jet black hair with lovely blue streaks in it. My only option is to strip my beautiful long hair that will completely damage it. I got my money back from the site I bought the voucher off, but more importantly, I need to tell everyone what a huge mistake you will be making even going to this place for a simple thing. I am in the process of trying to get them investigated and shut down.

I went to The Secret Hair Code with a Cudo keratin treatment voucher. This was a 30th birthday gift from my sister. I was so excited as I have had frizzy, curly hair for most of my life. When I got there they washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo (or so they said) and left it on for about 10 mins then rinsed it out. They then blow dried my hair and applied what they said was the keratin solution. As I didn't see the bottle at all and saw no other signage in the salon I have no idea what it was they actually used.

They left that on for one hour and then began blow drying my hair. It looked to me exactly the same as my hair normally looks and I thought that was strange. I asked if that was it and she said that they would straighten it next. I then asked why it was still frizzy and curly after the blow drying and was told it would get better in 3 days. I was told not to wet it for 3 days and to straighten it day and night for those 3 days as it is heat activated. Apparently me straightening it was going to get the results I paid for, yeah right! I was also told I could not tie it back or put it behind my ears for 3 days.

So she finished straightening it which was extremely quick, just like an ordinary straighten I get when having my hair coloured. Except it didn't look at all different, in fact I have had much better results from other salons when no 'keratin solution' was used.

I was told that I MUST buy their brand of shampoo or else the keratin would wash out within 2 washes. After looking at the Elixir 79 brand they recommended I asked them why there was no keratin in it. They told me oh it's the same stuff as what we put on your hair, it's really great and gets rid of frizz. I was feeling very uncertain but was still holding out some hope that perhaps it would work. It contains sodium which should NOT be used in keratin treated hair as that is what strips it out!.

I followed their instructions even though I knew it was fruitless. After four days my hair is back to it's usual curly self. I haven't used their shampoo as I am trying to get my money back on it. It seems to me they have no idea of the correct keratin process, and just make it up on the day!

I would really like to know what it was they put in my hair, and try to get a refund on the shampoo/conditioner. I also feel my sister deserves a refund as the service advertised was NOT provided, so far Cudo are refusing but we will not give up. I have tried almost 15 times in the last 3 days to contact them but it is either engaged or it rings out!!

I am overall so angry and bitter at the Secret Hair Code. I believe they should be stopped, they are blatantly ripping people off. Not to mention the salon was filthy and the brushes were full of hair.

My advice to others looking for a good keratin deal, do your research on the salon first if you can, or save up and pay full price. Whatever you do, do not go to the Secret Hair Code!!

Like many others, I too had read the bad reviews on this site but decided to go and see for myself. Best thing I ever did!! I went in with a voucher for balayage and I couldn't be happier with the result. The service these girls provide is amazing!! They were under the pump but that didn't stop them from being lovely and warm to all of their customers. I have my hair done regularly and honestly - I've never been pampered like this before! Don't believe everything you read - go and try it for yourself. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

I used a Groupon voucher here for a cut and all over colour. All up I was in the salon for 3 1/2 hours and the stylist said they weren't busy that day. The whole place looked quite dirty. The chair was white with lots of stains on it. I must have looked at it in disgust because she then said to me, don't worry, it's only hair dye. I seemed to be left sitting around while the colour was developing for a very long time while they were shuffling me between the chair, the lounge, the basin and back to the chair. The end result was ok, but i certainly wouldn't go there again. I would recommend that you pay a bit extra to go somewhere else.

To the secret hair code : girls good work u try hard to achieve something and it's beautiful seeing young girls trying to make it work!!! I will be back

I also received the "keratin" treatment and followed all instructions given to me by the hairdresser, but product did not work, as hair is exactly as it was prior to treatment, in fact it is actually in worse condition. I know how this should work as I have had a Keratin treatment before and my hair was dead straight for 4 months after. I have tried to call the hairdresser many times, but it is either engaged or rings out (this is during business hours). I even drove out there during their advertised times and the place was closed. Other concerns; the place is absolutely filthy with no ventilation or exhaust fan so customers and staff breathing in a lot of fumes. Waste of money and time, I will be requesting a refund via Groupon and/or Consumer Affairs as the product is not as described.

The internet deal provider (Groupon etc..) is required by consumer law to provide a refund if they sell a product that does not work, exactly the same as if you brought a product ie. computer, that does not work. Contact them, request a refund and notify Consumer Affairs as well.

As a previous regular client of this salon, I am sad to say I will not be going back. The service has gone from alright (I don't mind not being fussed over the whole time so never minded that it wasn't overly attentive), to NON-EXISTENT. They put your colour on and then disappear out the back not to be seen again. Most of the time their is no one in the front area which means they also miss people walking in the door. The last two times they left the bleach on too long and my hair is very brittle now (I've been getting bleached regrowth for years and know my hair can be perfectly healthy when it is done right).

They prioritise new 'deal voucher' customers and leave you to sit there neglected in the seat, and then at the basin, for so long. What used to take under 2 hours on a good day but usually no more than 2.5 hours, I have been in there for 3+, up to 4 hours the last few times. I started noticing they were going downhill well over 6 months ago but I was willing to give them the chance to improve again as they know my hair and I don't like finding a new hairdresser. I can say with certainty though, I am done with this salon.

I hope they pick up their game because by the looks of it new customers with vouchers aren't happy and won't be returning (as per other reviews) and old, LOYAL customers, are leaving too!!

I went here with a discount voucher for keratin straightening and a style cut: when I booked I told them I had a Groupon voucher for this. When I went in the salon was filthy and I waited forty minutes to be seated. I finally had my hair washed and some kind of solution applied. I now do not believe this was a proper keratin treatment after doing a little research, as they washed it out and put a hair mask in after, rather than drying it with the solution in. After leaving me sitting with my head in a sink for what seemed an eternity, they rinsed it out and straightened my hair to what was a less straight and more frizzy version of how I straighten it myself at home. I asked about the style cut and they said I wasn't booked for it and there was no one who could do it except an apprentice. In the end I asked them just to trim off the ends. As I had had keratin done before I was willing to put up with this if it would eventuate into hair that was at least a little straighter, but later that night my hair was completely frizzy and in the morning curly as ever. Total waste of time and money and I actually think my hair is frizzier than before. Avoid this place like the plague. EDIT: spoke to Groupon who investigated the matter, as they told me I am not the only one who has complained, and they gave me a credit (not a refund) to spend on something else.

I would also be careful of all the gushingly happy reviews on here... I have no idea whether they are legit or not (they may be), but seems a bit strange that 50% of reviews are terrible and 50% (most of which are the low trust reviews) are too good to be true...

Do not go here, even if you have a discount voucher just take the loss and go somewhere else.
I walked in and saw hair on the floor and all the chairs and stools have hair dye stains on them. I was taken to the chair and the women brushed hair off it with her hands. She asked me what I wanted and I said I would like my hair a couple of shades lighter, it is chocolate brown at the moment, I was told this couldn't be done but she could do foils which would lighten it. I said that was fine as long as they weren't to light and she assured me they wouldn't be. She went off to mix the colour and was half way thru my hair before she asked my name. When she was finished she said she would tell me when it needed to come off then she disappeared. She came back about 5 mins later at which stage I called her over to let her know that the foils were dripping which she said was normal. After sitting there for an hour one of the girls took me to the basin to rinse my hair, she then put a toner on my hair which burnt my scalp worse than when I used to get my hair bleached. That was washed off at which stage I was taken back to get the blow dry and first look at my hair which was when I realised exactly what I was hoping wouldn't happen had happened, the contrast between my hair and the highlights was about 6 shades and my regrowth was almost blonde. The girl dried my hair off and it occurred to me that no one had asked about the 'style cut' that was included in the voucher but after seeing what they had done with the colour I decided I didnt want them anywhere near me with scissors. The young girl who dried my hair whom I assume to be the apprentice was lovely but apart from that save your money and save your hair and do no go here.

This was the worst hairdressing salon I have ever been to, they were 30 minutes late and didn't even apologise or offer me a magazine to read.
I bought a voucher off Groupon but I was looking for a new hairdresser and I live in the area. I would assume the reason they sell vouchers is to attract new customers but I will NEVER go back there again.
Their customer service was terrible, the girls were more interested in talking to each other or going out the back to smoke than they were in talking to clients. And I found out at the end of my treatment that the girl doing my hair wasn't even a hairdresser!! Do not go there!!!!

Personally, I found this salon quite disappointing. I went with a Deals voucher which I assume they are affiliated with to try and increase their client base, but someone forgot to memo staff about creating an experience the customer would want to come back for!
I was there for 2 hours and was not offered so much as a magazine to read. No tea, coffee, water provided.
The girl next to me had to ask a staff member whether she was due to have her colour washed out as no timer had been set and she had sat there for 45 mins without anyone looking after her.
The floor was littered with hair and the Daddy Long Leg spiders around the salon looked like they had been there some time.
I didnt find the staff particularly friendly and they don't seem to even have been taught the art of answering the phone with a smile as when I rang to confirm my appointment (as I had not heard from them), it was like my call was an interruption on their time.
To top it all off, the Brazillian Keratin straightening treatment I had paid for with the voucher did not work (maybe something to do with the minute amount of product she put in my hair) but I live over an hour away from the salon and can't afford another 5 hours out of my day to even attempt to ask them to redo it. (The shampoo and conditioner you have to buy afterwards range from $48 a bottle to $60 a bottle. I bought the $60 bottles and it does help the frizz somewhat, for the record.)
All in all, a disappointing experience from go to woah.

This has been my hairdressers since they first opened and I can't fault them. I pay around $130 for regrowth, cut etc and I'm always happy. Half head foils is about the same, full head a bit more. I've paid twice as much before in other places and been very disappointed.

I purchased a voucher off a group buying site for this salon. The value was incredible, unsure whT their usual prices are like but i would recommend checking them out to those in the Doncaster area. The staff were friendly, salon was pleasant and in a convenient location - not too far from Doncaster Shopping Centre.
I was happy with the cut & foils i had done, however, next visit i'll request a slightly different look. This is the usual breaking in stuff of bisiting a new hairdresser.
