A tough one, given that we have had a few fairly good meals there before. But.... we were there with friends recently and I ordered one piece of fish, chips and salad. Yes, it was nice, but the fish was quite small, there were only a dozen chips and the salad was 85% lettuce. Luckily I wasn’t very hungry! Considering it cost $16, it was not good value.

I used to come here with my parents as a child and it still being here makes it an institution of the area. They must be doing something good.

This visit was a nice surprise. The previous couple of meals at the T.A. have left a bit to be desired, but my friends talked me into giving it another try.

I'm happy to say that it was really good! I had a chicken schnitzel, chips and salad and it was well cooked. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals, so I won't be so cautious in future.

I am often suspicious of restaurants with an 'executive chef'; it sometimes seems to up the price and presentation of dishes, but not necessarily the taste. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the TA Hotel. Their menu straddles the zeitgeist without becoming too fanciful, and the serving sizes remain generous despite the fancy presentation.

I had a lamb quinoa salad, with a fragrant yoghurt sauce, and my colleague had some meat on sweet potato mash, which I shared because I'm a sucker for sweet potato mash!

If you find yourself in the area, it's a good place for a feed.

Been at least 20 years since my last visit. The decor has certainly been upgraded and they've changed the name from Torrens Arms, to TA ... bit yuppy but the interior is nicely set out and modern looking.

As for the meals, not all that impressed. I had a chicken Schnitzel Hawaiian ($23). The hot chips were sensational - 10/10! The schnitzel however had been over cooked ... burnt around the edges and quite dry inside. My partner had the Beer Battered Garfish ($24). Again, the chips were great but the fish was very greasy. Pushed on it with the flat side of a knife and the oil ran out. Yuck!
The service was friendly and waitresses were very nice to deal with. The food quality however, needs improvement.

I have mixed feelings about this Hotel as I have experienced both good and bad. On both occasions the service was slow and our meals were average, with my girlfriends schnitzel being cool in the middle and my steak on the chewy side. The atmosphere is pleasant and they offer a good menu. Unsure if we will try again.

I've been to the "TA" a couple of times and it has a nice atmosphere and decor. Their chicken burger was quite good, although the chicken could have been hotter, but overall it was fine. The front bar (where you can have burgers) can be noisy, but the dining room is attractive and worth paying that bit extra.

I celebrated a special birthday here with my family. Was disappointed in the booking experience and also the food was ok but not as delicious as the previous dining experience here. Overall the bistro did not seem to be run as professionally as previously. Won't return for awhile - wait and see.

Although I have been here before and found no fault with this hotel dining experience when we were here last night for my husband's birthday I was disappointed with the very slow service. The food selection is great and it was well served. However the people with seafood weren't overimpressed with their meals. However the chicken breast and the pork belly was well received. The service was very slow and a little sloppy. I guess this was just a bad night for the staff. Hope it will be better next time

Went to the TA with the family for my birthday dinner. Staff were very attentive and provided excellent service. Food was great and the kids were given activity packs to keep them entertained.
