Once again, marvellous food and service.
Is it just me, or is this place starting to get more expensive?
Still, I love the trundle down to the cellars every time I come here.

Yes, I agree it seems to be a bit more expensive but it is worth it.

We certainly enjoyed the spectacular views while awaiting our meals. No disappointment here, we both had the freshest fish and crispy chips with salad, service was prompt and staff very accommodating. We were impressed as it was so busy.

Hmm... Where can I start.
I did like the place. Always have admired it. A place in the middle of nowhere that can attract such clientele. It has a marvelous cellar and the people are lovely. A few complications with our wine, but they sorted it out pretty quickly without fuss. They had to replace one of our bottles of wine as they were in error with their menu, but then they charged us the new bottle's price. That's a bit of bad news as it was their error to start with.
The meals weren't that great either. Have heard all these good things about the place, but we try and it's woeful. The pork belly was like an appetiser in size. The rump steak was all chewey and full of sinew. Their chips were just average.
For the prices we paid, could have got a lot more and better at many other closer locations.

Oh yeah, the booking. We booked for a table of 4 under 2 names. I called them back the next week to confirm. They had us under a table of 12 with the 2 names combined! We had to validate the phone number to ensure that it was us definitely!!! What chaos.

Anyway, won't be back anytime soon... if ever.
Shameful

That's disappointing to hear, I recently had a meal here with my family and it was great.

Have always heard how great this Hotel is and it was. Went for a family function and we were looked after very well by the staff, started with some platters of chorizo, olives, smoked
meats, feta, pickled baby vegetables, dukkah & crusty bread, main meals were filling, came with bowls of salad or vegetables to share, plenty of gluten free options and South Australian produce, we sat outside and the kids could play outside on the grassed area where we could see them.

Approximate cost: $17.00

My wife and I have been here a few times now, never been disappointed.

My husband suggested we go here for a meal as it has such a great menu with magnificent views. We ordered some steak each, I like mine well done and my husband a bit rare. The steaks were cooked to perfection on the table within 30 minutes of ordering. We thought that was fairly good considering how busy they were. We were in no rush, just wanted to enjoy the views. A very friendly comfortable atmosphere. No complaints here, just compliments. Definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.

Went here for a work function a few years back. Glad to see it is just as good nowadays.

I have been to the Victory Hotel many times. It always has a decent crowd, surprising for it's locality. But then again the food is great, the staff are friendly and proficient, with wonderful views... well that's why I go there.

My wife and I had tea here tonight with our son and his girlfriend. We arrived a few minutes before 8pm, without a booking. It was very busy and full, but the hostess was very friendly and attempted to accommodate us. She did her best, but did not think she could fit us in; we thanked her, said that was OK, were out the door, when she chased us down the steps and said that a goup were just leaving and therefore we could be seated.
I was impressed by this, as it would have been so much easier for her to just turn us away, and we were not treated as nuisances or scolded for not making a booking.
We were even moved to a nicer table with a view out over the Southern Vales, ocean and lights, when it became available.
The hotel is very nice, with indoor and outdoor areas, impressive views, as mentioned, and was very comfortable on an extremely warm evening.
And our meals were also very nice, well cooked, nicely presented and good-size serves. Prices were reasonable as well. There is also a front bar area, with great views out over the ocean and vales.
A nice, relaxing hotel; pleasant, friendly staff; we would definitely eat here again.

Approximate cost: $19 to $26

We were not very happy with the service at the victory. As a family we dont get to eat together very often, so the only time is when we go out for a meal. Our meals came out 30 minutes after our childrens meals, so they were finished and bored by the time we got ours. Not likely to go there again.

The food here is amazing and the wine cellar unbelievable. There is a nice outdoor area as well and sometimes they have live music.
