we accepted a policy on the basis that we could claim emergency admission for our todder, a claim that we doubly checked and assured again by the telesales person. We come to claim and find out that this is not covered. Tell_lies_sales clearly say what they want to sell the policy. Have requested a copy of the verbal recording, still waiting.........

I wish we had seen this site before we signed up with them, looks like we've been had.
In my experience they supply an unacceptable service to the public seeking a quality rental service.

We rented a property through Noel Jones, Glen Iris from the 4th October 2013

The inspection report indicated that it was habitable noting some cosmetic wear and tear issues. We noted a high number of defects that were not present in the report ,including not even counting the number of windows correctly.

Within a 3 days of moving in we discovered rising damp (dry rot) in the lounge( front room) with evidence that it was starting to affect the adjoining dining room (rear room), the shower tray in the en-suite was came loose when we stepped into the shower and showed signs of damp/rot due to the shower not being sealed properly. There were signs that the roof was leaking in the same bedroom(side front room) and signs of condensation damage on the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom with ensuite.

10th October a damp inspection confirmed these issues and showed up more.. The inspection person also revealed further exterior damp issues and expressed an opinion that the roof was probably a cause.

Yesterday evening (22nd October) water from the rain starting dripping through the ceiling in two bedrooms including the one our baby daughter was in. . It dripped into her cot and the light next to her bed. The back bedroom also had water coming down the inside wall.

We have paid over the odds rent for a property that is clearly substandard.

We moved in with the intention of staying for a few years but the state of the property as it stands has made it impossible to do so.

Noel Jones state clearly in their adverts and corporate statements that they are a premier agency

"Since 1977 Noel Jones Glen Iris has cemented itself as a pre-eminent provider of consistently superior service, backed up by the most effective in-house processes available. This has only been achieved by ensuring that our representatives have a client-first approach, are attuned to your personal needs and aspirations & work collaboratively with you to achieve your real estate ambitions. Director Karl Fitch is a long-standing local resident, familiar with realistic property values & market trends, able to personally customise & deliver savvy marketing techniques, supported by an elite team of experienced & dedicated professionals."

Noel Jones are clearly not providing a superior service or assessing an appropriate or realistic rental value for the state of the property. They by their own admission have known about the state of the property for a long time and despite this have been willing to put this on the market for rental at a top notch rent. To us this is false advertising as Noel Jones are setting an expectation of their service that they demonstrably cannot meet

My advice to ant potential tennant considering renting through them, I would be wary of their self publised integrity and check out any property they market to you with a fine toothcomb. As a landlord they will market at any condition, but will you keep your tenant.
