Went here tonight with work colleagues and tried the "bar express" option as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine festival and was pretty impressed. Staff were friendly and efficient, the layout was good with plenty of seating, food was good and the cocktails were yummy! Impressed enough to want to go back.
Offers a good selection of items for breakfast and for lunch. Bit on the expensive side though. Plenty of seating (especially as the other 2 food places in this "food courtyard" have folded) - the best of which are the booths behind the service counter/kitchen. The coffee is consistently of a good standard. Soups are good in winter!
Only ever been here for a drink with my father, who lives around the corner. Pretty ordinary tavern in my book - nothing to differentiate it from a thousand other taverns around Australia. Staff are ok but don't go out of their way. Decor is very Wodonga-ish, which if you know Wodonga should tell you all you need to know. It's ok for a drink, but if it's a choice between here and anywhere else, I'd personally pick anywhere else.
This pizza shop has existed for decades, and has stuck to its tried and true formula throughout. It's pizza isn't going to set the world on fire but it's perfectly good. The only issue with it is that it's a bit of a magnet for trouble as its open late and attracts clientele who've had a little too much to drink. That said, the staff are always nice, and if you aren't there at 1 in the morning you're probably not going to have any issues.
I've only ever eaten the fried food from here. It's ok - it fills a hole, but is just your basic fried food. They also sell slices of pizza - base is slightly on the soggy side but they're ok still. The staff are a crack up - they look like shady characters but they are great personalities. Outside seating is just basic plastic table and chairs, and it's on Swanston st so it's loud and busy. In short, it's not the place for a romantic first date or anything, but to grab something on the go it's not a bad choice.
Excellent family medical clinic that has a good number of doctors. Runs into the usual problems of waiting room times but generally they are pretty good. Parking is a problem there though, so if you are driving give yourself plenty of time to find a park and perhaps walk a distance to the clinic. Also they are definitely not the cheapest clinic around, so if money is tight I wouldnt recommend them, but if its not and you want excellent service from doctors that really care about you and your health, give them a go.
Decent place for a night out, especially with the Irish bar attached at the back of it with the seriously long wooden bar, which is definitely a feature of the place. Has a good outdoor area for when the weather is hot. Service is excellent - bar staff are friendly and quick!
More Lavington than Albury, the Siesta Motel ticks the boxes for clean accommodation with a decent pool for the kids, but not much else. Location wise its pretty ordinary - perhaps it made sense for it to be where it is before the bypass was put in so that it could catch the Sydney-Melbourne through-traffic, but now it just makes it terribly inconvenient to anything of interest in Albury. If you can get past the bad location though, its not a bad place to lay your head.
Probably not a place I'd go to by choice - the Boomerang has always had an air of roughness around it and times haven't changed that, nor has time been kind to it. Dated décor doesn't help this, nor do its patrons. Yes the prices are right, but then they really have to be because I cant think of any other single redeeming quality about it.
Not the best pub in Albury but far from the worst, the Newmarket isn't pretentious in any way and doesn't pretend to be anything that its not. It has a good sized bar - yes its mainly dominated by male patrons but its not a bad place because of that.
