We have been to Black Lime a few times now, and really enjoy it. You can't beat it for a weekend breakfast! (Their eggs on avocado with a dash of chilli is fabulous). There is easy parking, and the split level eating areas makes it interesting from an atmosphere point of view.
They have a great range of products although I would like to see more stamps. Excellent papers and always a specials bin. Docrafts magazine is often available and is very cheap. Their emailing list is good to be on as they let you know about upcoming classes and papercraft shows.
WOW, WOW, WOW! Navona has been completely revamped and is modern and quite trendy. It now offers free WIFI which works easily and well, still the same great service and a quiet place to sit. .........What follows was my original review: Good old fashioned style cafe food and I like the fact that Navona is connected to the food court but has its own quiet interior space. The thing we have been most impressed with is the service. The lass who works on the weekends is totally tuned into who has arrived, how long they have been waiting and what they may need. The less favorable comments about service in the other posts surprised me. Maybe it's different on weekdays.
We have relied on several of the doctors here for nearly 30 years since their previous practice together. They treat the 'whole person' and get to know the family. The clinic is well serviced with nursing support and pathology services.
This is our local cinema and is always up to date with a good range of timeslots for current movies. Cinemas and bathrooms are clean and service is efficient. (Ads before the movie can be way too loud at times.)
King Bean is one our favourites, particularly for breakfast at the weekend. Great range of tasty choices and a real buzz about the place. Very popular with locals. Also, it's a bonus if you are a member of the local Goodlife gym, as the coffee loyalty cards between there and King Bean are interchangeable.
We are from Melbourne, but have had breakfast at Turret cafe twice now when visiting Ballarat. Their coffee is without doubt the best coffee in Ballarat (and some of the best coffee you would hope to get anywhere!).
The menu has a good range of breakfasts (we didn't look at the lunch items, but I'm confident those would be great as well), and we chose to share the big breakfast which comes with some of their home made delicious chutney. Happily, you can also buy jars of their chutney, coffee beans and other treats to take away.
Another great feature is the cake cabinet! They have a few larger cakes/desserts that you can buy a slice of, and as well as that they have many sweet treats that are small enough to be tempting and at the same time not make you feel that you are 'overdoing it'. These include lemon tarts, individual sticky date puddings, chocolate delicacies (various) and slices.
Having won a number of awards, Turret is somewhere that you can't beat for tasty food and magnificent coffee. I'd like to try it out for lunch next time ...
We visit Ballarat a couple of times a year, but I had not tried Bibo until this weekend. We had a fabulous lunch on a cold rainy Saturday consisting of a really hearty tomato and white bean soup and some nice crispy toasted sandwiches. Love the retro decor and really enjoyed quick, courteous table service. (The soup was brilliant and was a very generous helping too).
I worked within walking distance of here for years and it was a favorite lunch spot both for day to day lunches and taking friends and business colleagues. Fabulous salads which are reinvented on a seasonal basis and a vibrant atmosphere. Terrific.
Kofe Run makes the best coffee in Knox City and also has a reasonable range of light cafe food. The people who work there are friendly, deliver to the table, and they also offer a coffee loyalty card. One of things I really like is the positioning and layout of the seating. Although it's right by the food court, it has soft seats, and tables which look down to the lower level of the centre. It feels quite private with your back to the world.
