Great value for anyone who doesn't have private health care. Obviously there can be some difference in expertise, depending on the student, but some of them are exceptional, and there are professional clinicians who train them during their internship here.

Approximate cost: $15-$25

Classic diner-style arrangement that's open 24 hours...and you can get breakfast 24 hours a day! (...if that's your thing). Young and friendly, it's cool.

Great, loungy little cafe and cocktail bar, centrally located but away from the crowds in Manly. Good food, good music and a comfy courtyard. Nice spot for brekkie

Chocolates as good as you could expect to find in Switzerland - in fact the second owner trained in Switzerland. Easily the best chocolate maker in Australia, one of the best in the world. Charming stores and friendly staff who give you a free taste-test every time you buy a pack of chocolate :)

the best pastries I've had anywhere. The creme brulee tart is orgasmically good, and the lamb and harissa sausage rolls are just yum. The coffee's good too, and at $3.50 a pop, the value's pretty good considering the quality of the food.

Very simple, great value, unfortunately quite fattening but incredibly yummy food in a no-frills but comfy environment. The various pastizzis (both sweet and savoury) are what keep me coming back. They're delicious, and so is the sauce that comes with them. You can even buy whole bags of them to take home and put in the freezer for later...

Fantastic second-hand bookseller and cafe. Interesting collection of books with loads of sci-fi, and excellent little cafe garden complete with graffiti artwork. Really charming.

Great atmosphere - no nasty interior design overkill, the pub is pretty relaxed and funky and maintains it's original character. Good place for a few beers and some nibblies.
