Great meals as always and hot drinks are actually hot. Meals were prompt. It’s always great value at coffee Club with plenty of food options for our varying tastes. Would just be nice sometimes if staff seemed a little happier to be there and smiled. Fabulous views over the passage though and will keep coming back.

It’s not often we’re disappiinted by a Coffee Club outlet but today was very sad. We ordered Earl Grey tea, which somehow became English Breakfast and then took until nearly the end of our meal before they brought out the Earl Grey. The half strength very very hot cappuccino was barely even warm and half froth. When they did remake it so it was actually hot, it came out full strength and still so much froth, it was lucky we ordered a mug just to actually get enough drink. The haloumi bruschetta we ordered with a very hard egg, and it came out runny. By this time we had had enough and couldn’t be bothered getting it replaced. Very disappointing.

There are plenty of options for accommodation in Gladstone, but we settled here as we spotted it driving past and looked quite tidy. We are glad we did as it was a very comfortable room and good value for $110 for the night. We stayed in Rm 11 which is ground floor right at the back. The car park spot was a little awkward as the pool fence opens outwards, but it was the most private room, and very spacious with everything you would want. The bathroom was large with a skylight, and a big shower. Microwave, toaster and jug was provided as well as plates and cutlery, and biscuits for the tea/coffee. The bed was very comfortable, and had 4 of the plushest pillows we've seen in a motel. Quite a comfortable bed. The room was large enough for a double lounge also which was an unexpected and nice surprise. Plenty of bench space in the room and bathroom, and a cupboard with extra blanket and ironing board/iron. Checkin was easy and the staff friendly. A big bonus here for us was the security. There is a large roller door that secures the property completely every night, and a remote if you need to get in and out during these times. The pool area at the back definitely needed some attention, a tidy up, but we weren't interested in using it at all so that wasn't an issue. Overall, a comfortable good-value stay that's in the Main Street and close to shops and groceries.

This review is for Kipara Tropical Rainforest Retreat, Airlie Beach QLD

It was surprisingly hard to find accommodation in the area when we needed it, and with very competitive prices even during school holidays we found that Kilpara offered basic but clean and tidy rooms with everything we needed. Air-con and all facilities worked brilliantly, and it felt quite private with all the trees around. Parking was right next door to our room which was handy as well as secure. Extremely friendly and helpful staff and we would have stayed longer except we had to get back to Brisbane. There is a variety of rooms available and even the cottage we stayed in had bunks which would suit a family with 2 kids.

This review is for Twin Pines Motel, Yamba NSW

The location of the motel is handy to the bowls club which offers reasonably priced meals. Value for money we thought was very good, and the manager at reception was very friendly and welcoming. Our room had everything we needed, and very tidy. Unlike other guests, we had no complaints with the size of coffee cups - it's not a homewares stores and they can't offer 3 different sizes and types. We had no noise complaints at all, and would stay again.

We dined here a few times during our stay in Yamba, and loved it each time. The vintage decor inside and out was lovely, so you can take your pick of indoor dining or out in the backyard grassed area which could be good for people with kids, though obviously warmer in hot weather. The menu is natural, and good prices, and very tasty. We wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

This review is for The Honey Place, Urunga NSW

We have driven past many times in our travels and thought it was time to finally stop by. The shop itself is an interesting look at some honey products (and many totally unrelated non-honey products), and while we were expecting much more of a display of bees and honey making, there was a distinct lack of this which was quite disappointing. At the back is a totally unconnected old house with displays of old dolls and clothes that don't have any connection with honey at all. The small cafe does offer some delicious drinks. Overall we are glad we stopped by to have a look, but I don't think we will return, and even for those with kids, it doesn't offer too much to look at or kill time with.

This review is for The Chocolate Cottage & Cafe, Highfields QLD

It's not the first time we have dined here and won't be the last. We love admiring all the varieties of chocolate treats on display, and the other shops on the site also make for some great window shopping. There are plenty of knickknack and gift ideas, or if you just want brunch or lunch, we have never been disappointed here. Even when our hot chocolate came out barely warm, we didn't want to cause a fuss but the staff were exceptionally friendly and fixed everything without a hassle. Thank you for another nice day out.

It's not often we write negative reviews, thankfully because we don't tend to have many bad experiences but we were quite disappointed with this visit. We were asked to take a seat by a friendly man when we arrived and someone would be with us shortly to take our order. It was quite a lengthy wait before we even received menus, during which time we noticed the number of other customers waiting at tables too. One table actually asked the waitress as soon as she left another table to take their order at the same time as they'd been waiting so long and were doubtful she's return. On the positive side, the service was friendly, but there definitely appeared to not be enough of them. The food when it did arrive was quite tasty, but it is the first time that I've not wanted to finish a meal because of a hair found in the middle of it, and sadly not just a tiny one but rather lengthy, and really ruined the rest of the experience. The view over the water is quite nice, and there are inside and outside dining options. Some extra staff wouldn't go astray, and some more attention by the kitchen staff when preparing the meals.

We were actually walking past this cafe on our way to look at another that we'd spotted while driving, but when we saw the menu and fresh food being served we had to stop in. The sweet potato patty, Thai tuna party, and the two fresh salads were delicious, good serving sizes and we felt good value at $12 for a patty and salad. The fenced off children's play area inside was being used by mothers and we thought a great ideas. Friendly service, we're very glad we stopped by.
