The most friendly and intimate bar in Melbourne for the younger art-driven crowd. The atmosphere is created by an exquisitely sharp eye, a back room with open fire, a terrific beer garden and art gallery upstairs. The easiest place to relax with friends I can think of.
An intimate, cosy drinking hole with an original relaxed interior with references to shabby chic and just plain chic. Open fire, smoking garden and above all the CHIPS! They come wrapped in newspaper with mayonnaise. Excellent for soaking up the excellent grog. Sit and watch the trams rattle down the street with a view onto this remarkable precinct.
A true local experience with a clientelle ranging from elderly greek and italian folks to young families who are moving out from the inner city. A great range of cheap fruit and veg, an excellent deli and extensive range of continental ingredients - all in a friendly family-run business.
Local and interstate band venue for the latest in indie music. The front bar remains largely original but with a hip feel and a large communal table. the back room features edgy, exposed framework and holds around 150 people who come here to enjoy the live acts. A great newcomer to the reviving melbourne live music scene.
A funky, cool alternative bar for those interested in great atmosphere, arty crowds and retro and the latest music played on vinyl by discerning dj's . Great beer garden too.
