The waiters here are EXCELLENT! It has a bistro type of bustle but the service is definitely better than at a bistro. They are very attentive and very cheerful despite such a busy environment.

The menu wasn't too fancy. I just had the oysters fresh. Can't really go wrong with fresh oysters. My partner had the steak and I was surprised that they offer a selection of cuts for you to choose from. Definitely up-ed the impressive factor. I had a side of peas. May be strange but it was recommended. :)

For dessert, we had the pear tarte tatin to share. Very very sweet. Make sure you ask for water with it too. Just to clear your throat afterwards.

The dining area is attached to a five-star hotel with nice quirky decor.

The ribs really packs a punch in terms of flavour. So good! My partner had the salt and pepper fried squid which was also full of flavour. It definitely wasn't too salty as some places seem to make it. You can taste the squid without too much of that strong seafood smell. :)

For dessert, we had a caramel date with butter ice-cream to share. So thick and creamy and definitely something you'd want to share. It's too heavy for one to finish.

The menu is very succinct so deciding what to get wasn't too troublesome. I wouldn't call it limited though. I had a pie which was very delicious. There was a good mixture of black olives in with the chicken. My friend had some chicken dish (forgot the name, there's only one anyway) and it had to be cooked twice because the first time, it was just a tad too moist. But cooking something twice never tastes that great. Takes away all the natural juices.

Service was so-so. They get quite busy so it's hard to get the waiter's attention.

Good wine list.

I reallly really like the streamers placed over the kitchen window. Gives it a very authentic italian vibe! The place is quite small, cosy perhaps. :)

Service is very good - the waiters are very cheery people and very attentive. They helped us through their somewhat complicated menu. The pasta is very soft with lots of mozarella! The fettucine is very thin and very different to what I've had before. The boscaiolo sauce was devine. It was good that the servings were small because the dishes can be somewhat on the salty side.

The place is a very nicely decorated. Looks very fancy, strange that I decided to come here for breakfast. I had time on a Sunday morning so came here for breakfast/brunch.

I just had the bruschetta. This was very nice. The bread was crisp without being too crunchy and crumbling all over the place. The topping was just saucy enough without dripping everywhere! I ordered seconds! :)

It is a bit on the pricey side but I decided to spoil myself since I was down in Melbourne for a trip anyway.

It was very quiet which is how I like it in the mornings. I can't deal with too much noise and the service was a bit absent but that made things just perfect for me. Don't want to have to talk too much so early in the morning! Good Job guys! Great how you can really read the customers. :)

I came down to Melbourne for a business trip a little while a go and this is where we came for work lunch.

The ambience is lovely. It's very serene have such a nice harbour right outside the restaurant and it wasn't overly busy so it wasn't too noisy either. There was some soft music in the background and you could just hear soft chatter.

I had the steak. Food wasn't absolutely amazing but it was reasonable for the price, about $25. Service was top notch. Very impressed. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends if they were going down to Melbourne and in the area. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here though.

Came here for a 20th birthday party. There was a fairly large group of us and it was lovely to see that they were well prepared for such a big group and were happy to oblige to our requests.

We asked if we could have a private room and they gave us the huge room with a pool table in it and a view of cockle bay. stunning! All this at no extra cost to our bowling games.

Drinks were pricey though so I didn't get any. The range of cocktails available was quite limited as well.

Other than that, had a very nice night.

The view from this bar is stunning but that doesn't make up for bad service. I came for drinks with the girls on a Friday night after dinner. The bartenders and waiters don't seem to want to be there. They just plonk our drinks on the table and walk off. no eye contact whatsoever. I think that's pretty rude.

We order 4 drinks between us but it took about 30-35 minutes for them to arrive. There were other people in the place but a 30 minute wait for drinks is not excusable. It wasn't even THAT busy.

This is a very nicely serviced bar/hotel. It's a nice local bar if you stay at the hotel, otherwise, there are a lot more trendier bars in the area.

The drinks are reasonably priced, cocktails are about 11-13$. Since it's not really that busy, there isn't much of a queue so getting a drink is nice and quick. Not to say that it's an empty place though.

Nice music, but mainly just hotel people hanging around. If you want to meet more locals, I'd have to say go to a more popular bar.

I come here for take away thai after work sometimes. Because I always just call ahead and pick up the food, I don't get too much 'bad' service that some of my friends complain about. They don't have very good english over the phone but I know exactly what I want so they don't have too much trouble udnerstanding me. By the time I get there, (about 10-15 minutes), the food is all ready and I just pay and take it home.

I almost always just get pad thai. It's pretty standard. No wow factor but I'm a hopeless cook so it's very convenient to buy take away. The servings are pretty large (they jam pack one of those rectangular plastic take away containers). I can split this between 2 people or split this over 2 meals if it's just me eating.
