Fairly new little cafe in Moonta, stopped in for a coffee and snack with a friend. Lovely range of health food style meals, raw foods, organic foods, vegetarian, juices etc. i tried the raw lemon citrus cake, it was delicious! Staff were friendly, service was prompt and prices were reasonable. Will definitely be going back to try more of the yummy looking food!
An older style motel, good for a cheap night stay. The rooms were nice and clean and staff were friendly. Rooms themselves were pretty outdated and the bed was quite uncomfortable unfortunately. It served its purpose though as we were just looking for a cheap one night stay somewhere close to the airport. Only a short distance to the Glenelg main shopping area and not far from the city either.
Lovely cafe about half way down the Main Street. Stopped in for a coffee with a friend. Staff were very friendly, service was quick and it just had a nice atmosphere about it. Not too crowded and busy, well laid out. I didnt have anything to eat this time but will be back to try the food as it looked delicious, nice and fresh. Apparently they also do dinners to take away which are like home style meals. Will have to try!
Regularly pass through Port Wakefield while travelling and thought we would get lunch from this bakery for a change. Thought it must be good as it was quite busy. Staff were quite abrupt and rude, which is always disappointing. The food itself (got a spinach and cheese pastie and beef cheese and bacon pie) was ok, but nothing fabulous. Seemed like it was well over cooked, been sitting in the pie warmer too long maybe. Dont think we will be back in a hurry sadly.
We were staying in the motel above this restaurant and wanted a quick and easy meal. Not such a good idea. There were only a couple of tables in there yet took close to an hour to get our meals. The waitress was lovely and friendly but didn't seem to really know what she was doing, cant have had much previous hospitality training and experience and seemed overwhelmed by the whole situation of waiting tables, serving in the bar and attending the motels reception desk too. The meals themselves were pretty average, vegetables partially cooked, meat overcooked, not a pleasant dining experience at all sadly. Very disappointing. Would not recommend. At least the prices werent over the top.
Love this place! Only heard about it recently and thought we would try somewhere new while staying in Adelaide. What a pleasant surprise! Stayed in one of their cabins, it was huge, well equipped with full cooking facilities, full size fridge, tv with DVD player, sofa, large bathroom, clean, modern, just perfect. I could easily stay there a month! Very reasonably priced too. It backs on to Linear park which is just beautiful too. Cant wait to stay there again. Think this will become our new regular place to stay!
Approximate cost: $125
Thought we would try somewhere new to stay while visiting Adelaide and had driven past this place previously so thought we would try. It has convenient off street parking at the back of the motel but I would wonder if theres enough parks for all the rooms if it was full. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was very clean but quite stuffy and the bed seemed old, sagging in the middle and lumpy which was disappointing. Not a good night sleep on it between that and the airplanes going over all the time. Very loud and low, the whole place rumbles. Not that its the motels fault but if you are a light sleeper i would stay elsewhere. No milk for the tea and coffee provided either, something small but i would expect it if Im paying $140 a night for a basic room. Lovely location a short walk to lots of cafes restaurants etc on Oconnell street in North Adelaide. I don't think we will be staying again, comfort and a good night sleep is my main priority and while this place has a lot of good points, it didnt deliver where it mattered to me.
Approximate cost: $140
Have visited here a few times when looking for a quick lunch. Always get the Cornish pasties as they are amazing! They have a wide range of other baked goods, pies, pasties, sausage rolls (the outback pie looks delicious - i must try it some time), plus fresh bread and sweets such as vanilla slice, huge laminations and other cakes and pastries. Reasonably priced and staff always greet you with a smile. Definitely worth the stop for lunch of you're in Moonta.
Staying nearby for the night, we were looking for a chicken shop for a quick and easy dinner. This was the first one we came across. Our order was taken promptly, and I was impressed by the fact the man who served us didn't need to write our order down. There was an extensive range of fresh salads to choose from, the usual chicken shop type menu but also offered free range chickens. It's only took a couple of minutes for out food to be ready which was impressive, 1/4 chicken and salad and chicken hot pack with chips peas carrots and gravy. While my 1/4 chicken was piping hot, it was quite dry and disappointing. My greek salad was tasty though. My friends hot pack was a generous serving, his chicken moist and tasty but the chips were pretty soggy and the gravy tasted awful. Overall it was ok but I think I will try somewhere else in future
I was craving a Vietnamese pork roll and after a quick google, this place seemed to be one of the better places in Adelaide metro area to get one. I wasn't disappointed! The lady that served me was so friendly and polite, the roll was fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The pork was succulent and the crackle was crisp. The salad fillings of carrot cucumber and corriander were fresh and tasty. Couldnt have asked for better. The place overall looked very clean and hygienic too, well laid out and bright. Would recommended this place for a fantastic Vietnamese roll.
