Update May 2017: I'm revising my 2014 review of Gryphons. The last time we went there to celebrate my birthday, we were impressed with the quality of the food and service.

Today, however, was a different story. We booked for Sunday lunch and when we arrived, the girl behind the bar told us to take a table in the restaurant. After waiting for 15 minutes without seeing any waitstaff, my husband and a customer from another table (part of a small group also celebrating a birthday) went to inquire at the bar. Apparently, Gryphons no longer provides table service and guests are expected to order their food and drinks at the bar. It's a pity the the girl behind the bar didn't advise us of this when we arrived.

Given that the staff didn't seem keen to serve us, we left. I hope the other birthday girl had a better experience than I did!

My husband and I have had many pleasant dining experiences at Waters Edge, and were looking forward to celebrating our wedding anniversary there last night. The service and food has nosedived since our anniversary last year.

For dinner, Waters Edge offers either a degustation menu, or a four course fixed-price menu for $80 per head. We chose the fixed price menu, as we have enjoyed that before. The first two courses, as expected, were very tiny, so we waited for the main course. By 9.10, I felt as though I were about to pass out from low blood sugar levels, and there were no signs of our mains arriving. We told the hostess that we were leaving, but she persuaded us to stay, adding that the main course would be only another five minutes.

Our main courses arrived about 15 minutes later; the staff apologised for the delay and brought two complimentary side dishes.

All the food, while delicious and creative, was also very salty and barely warm which further detracted from our dining experience. We didn't wait for dessert or coffee.

We won't be dining at Waters Edge again.

The Teddy Bear Shop provides a repair service for soft toys, called MediBear. I have had excellent service from MediBear in the past, but received horrendous service recently.

On 11 November 2012, I dropped off a small soft toy that needed a minor repair. I was quoted $10 and told to expect a phone call in a week. Over six weeks later, there has been no sign of my soft toy, none of my phone calls have been returned, and the MediBear service person, Meg, has given me one excuse after another.

I would not recommend this service to anyone - least of all a parent or grandparent who doesn't want to upset a small child!

Update 16 June 2016 - We had a call today to say that our plush toy was ready to be picked up. Only three and a half years too late!

I have been buying items such as Pilates balls, wobble cushions, BodyGlide and Bio-Freeze gel from Physio Supplies for many years now. They are always helpful to deal with, ship promptly, and carry quality products. I'm glad to see they have recently expanded their range. I would definitely recommend them.
