This review is for The Kitchen Company, Fyshwick ACT

We have just had our new kitchen installed by The Kitchen Company and couldn't be more pleased with the results. We chose them after reading many positive reviews online; they are so popular that we had to wait four months for our initial appointment with the designer, Sarah. She was very helpful and suggested all kinds of nifty space-saving ideas that we hadn't even considered.

The project manager, Adam, provided us with a schedule, and let us know when the various tradesmen would arrive. All of the tradesmen were very professional and courteous.

We would highly recommend The Kitchen Company.

This review is for The Tipsy Bull, Braddon ACT

No wonder the bull got tipsy! The Tipsy Bull offers more varieties of gin than I would have thought possible, plus a delicious range of Asian-inspired share plates.

The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, and the food is top-notch. It's no surprise that The Tipsy Bull won an Australian Good Food Guide 2018 Readers Choice Award. Highly recommended!

This review is for Winning Appliances, Kingston ACT

When choosing appliances for our kitchen renovation, we visited Winning Appliances because of their very positive online reviews. We weren't disappointed. Their Kingston showrooms are really impressive, and the floor staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The delivery staff were also professional, and arrived promptly.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Winning Appliances.

This review is for Wildbrumby Schnapps Distillery Door and Cafe, Jindabyne NSW

verified email - 11 Aug 2018

After sampling some Wild Brumby schnapps and gin at the Lake Crackenback resort, we dropped in for lunch (and to buy more schnapps and gin) last week.

The cafe serves a range of German dishes. Our lunches were delicious, generously proportioned and reasonably priced.

After lunch we sampled some of Wild Brumby's produce. They craft a variety of schnapps, and three different types of gin. I would highly recommend a visit the next time you are in the area, but you will definitely need to book as the café is very popular.

This review is for Vapiano, Canberra Central ACT

verified email - 11 Aug 2018

Vapiano is a new casual Italian restaurant in the corner of the Canberra Centre. It's airy with lots of natural light, and little pots of basil and rosemary on the tables, which is a nice touch.

On the day we lunched, the staff were very attentive and friendly. While nice, our pasta dishes weren't anything out of the ordinary. I'm not sure I would go there again.

This review is for Next Door, Canberra ACT

verified email - 16 Jul 2018

We dropped into the Next Door cafe, which has just opened next to David Jones, today for lunch and were a bit underwhelmed.

The cafe offers a small range of salads with a difference — such as grilled veggies with the addition of pear — which you can order either on their own or in a roll. The fillings were good, but our rolls were slightly less than fresh.

The cafe serves Red Brick Espresso coffee, and offers a loyalty card, with every 10th coffee free.

This review is for Bean Cafe, Fyshwick ACT

verified email - 14 Jun 2018

Bean! Cafe is operated by Bean!Roasters, a specialty coffee roaster which supplies coffee and coffee-making equipment to Canberra cafes and restaurants. So naturally, their coffee is excellent.

Quality lunch spots are rare in Fyshwick, so if you're spending time there, it's worth planning to be in Kembla Street around midday. Bean! Cafe's rolls are generously-sized and very yummy, and they also offer a range of tempting baked goods. Coffee loyalty cards are also available.

This review is for Zeus Street Greek, Canberra Central ACT

verified email - 03 Jun 2018

We dropped into Zeus Street Greek a few days ago for lunch and were somewhat underwhelmed. My meat-loving partner was unimpressed by the signature grilled lamb; I sampled a piece and it was fatty and a little stringy.

I loved the Haloumi Chips, which were dusted in tapioca flour and lightly fried, and my Organic Grains side salad. However, the house white wine wasn't the best.

This review is for Lonsdale Street Cafe, Braddon ACT

verified email - 08 May 2018

We dropped into Lonsdale Street Cafe a couple of weeks ago for lunch. There was one guest inside and only a few people outside, so we expected to get served promptly. Wrong. We waited, and waited, and waited...

We weren't sure whether the cafe provides table service (there is no indication on the menu, nor at the counter) so we waited a bit longer. We couldn't gain the attention of any staff, so eventually left. Judging from some reviews online, our experience was not unusual.

This review is for Daughters at Hall, Hall ACT

verified email - 08 May 2018

As its name implies, Daughters at Hall is a genuine community-based business, offering home-baked goodies made from locally sourced produce. They also offer a book exchange, the funds from which support the community herb garden which is right out front.

They are definitely worth a visit the next time you are in the region.
