We needed polo shirts in a hurry as the original supplier who didn't contact us back totally let our organisation down. So I got searching for another business on the net to supply 50 Polo Shirts in a hurry. This business is a new business and I have to say that their approach to our situation was excellent. My 1st contact with this company was on the Tuesday and by Friday we had our Polo Shirts in the sizes and colour we wanted. They also did a great deal better price than the other company that we were trying to deal with. We have a big event coming up and these shirts needed to get to the lady who is doing our logo on our shirts and thankfully to this new and wonderful company they came thru for us. They are an internet based company in Sydney somewhere just starting up and did everything right. We needed the shirts in Qld 200kms north of Brisbane. She rang me back when she said she would not like other companies, over a week later I am still waiting for the original company to ring me back. They have all types for clothing for clubs in different brands etc. Just check their website out for yourselves and hopefully you will be as happy with them as I am. The prices range from low to high depending on which brand of shirt you require. We are more than happy with the quality of the Polo range that we ordered which was at the lower end of the price range. Brand was Fashion Biz Pique Polo Shirts 65% Polyester 35% cotton and comes with a loose pocket, the shirts are not too flimsy in the fabric weight which suited us just fine. Haven't washed the shirts at this stage, but Direct Uniform are only the supplier and not the manufacturer of the product that we ordered.

We found the staff great and friendly and apparently the new owner has only been there for 4 weeks. We both had the Big Breakfast with Mugs of Coffee. The breakfast was nice, but I thought maybe a little overpriced for the area. The owner is a chef and the breakfast was cooked to perfection, but I must remember to ask for my eggs a little more cooked. I think the wait staff was fairly new as she had to look at the board for the prices. It was clean and tidy and hopefully the new owner will do well. Price includes 1 breakfast at $13.50 plus coffee $5.00 per person.

Approximate cost: $18.50

This review is for Bush And Bay Cafe, Tiaro QLD

If you want the best Fish and Chips then the Bush and Bay Cafe is the place to go. We have tried numerous places up and down the coast from the Gold Coast to Gladstone and we would have to say that this is the place to go. They do get busy at times, so have a little patience and it will be worth the wait. We usually have either battered cod and they make a beautiful batter and hubby has crumbed cod. Chips are good, but I love the Seafood Platter. Give it a try next time you are driving either north or south on the Bruce Hwy. Tiaro is nearly half way between Maryborough and Gympie. Price is based on cod and chips.

Approximate cost: $8.00

This review is for Dr Michael Donovan, Nambour QLD

If you are overweight and are thinking about having a Gastric Lap Banding Proceedure then think no further that having Dr M Donovan do your surgery. No he does not do it thru the public system as I had to go private for the surgery, but my fills and other consultations are done at Nambour General Hospital at present, but I do have a pension card, so are not sure what the costs are if you are not on a pension. I found his whole attitude brillant, friendly and you can talk to him without feeling that you are not inferior like some surgeons do. I would never hesitate in recommending him one little bit especially if you live on the Sunshine Coast. He has saved my life by doing this surgery for me. I have lost so far 26kgs since 1st being weighed back on the 19th Feb and have lost 16kgs since my surgery in the middle of april. The Gastric Lap Band is not done lightly as you have to have a BMI of more than 35 and you will have to discuss what you have done to loose weight in the past. This is not a quick fix type of surgery and as with any surgery there are always risks. The band is a tool to help you to help yourself, it is no magical cure that you don't have to work at. You still have heaps of hard work in front of you with the band. I am more than happy to discuss this procedure with anyone interested. My costs so far are in excess of $13,000 and I didn't have health insurance. I think if you have health insurance some people say their out of pocket expenses are around $5000, but you would have to check with your health insurer.

This review is for Ginger Factory, Yandina QLD

They do have a good variety of good for sale mainly to do with the sales of Ginger which is what their trade is all about Buderim Ginger. You can buy a lot of food varietys which contain Ginger. They have quite a few different little shops including Cafes and a Ice Creamy. We have been to the Cafe for Devonshire teas, they have ginger as well as ordinary scones. The scones are quite nice but we have found the service in this food area sometimes quite unfriendly and abrupt. So we don't go to their food section any more. They get paid to give you a smile and service but some of them don't know how to do it, so we go down the road for Devonshire teas where the staff are all volunteers and don't get paid. But if you want information and help with purchases or want to buy ginger products the staff at the main counter where you 1st come in are usually friendly. They also have a train attraction which takes you around the grounds and you can also see where Ginger is manufactured. A nice place for a family get together or overseas tourist, but remember to take your wallet with you as things can be a little expensive here.

We started going here when they opened up the new Centro Shopping Centre. They have 1 staff member who really made our 1st visit so much that we keep on going back. I really do think that they need to be rewarded for their excellent service and great coffee. I wouldn't rate the service in their Main Bakery and Cafe as high, but the food is still good. They serve up pies and they also have mushy peas to go with it if you ask for it. Their cake range is also quite good. Also if you go in don't forget to ask for their reward cards that they do. I think it is some where around your 8th or 10th coffee you get the next one free.

This review is for Windsong Cabins and Cafe, Gunalda QLD

Windsong is a building which houses a few businesses, the design is based on a small Thai Village. The cafe has changed ownership so many times since we have been going there over 5.5 years. The whole complex has had new owners for the past probably 2 to 3 years now and have the place up for sale once again. They have a mens hairdresser which is fairly new and moved out from Gympie, they have an Opal Shop which is a good source for Opals especially if you are an overseas tourist, as well as having other jewellery made from other rocks and crystals. The owners are also entertainers who are quite friendly, but sometimes have the music turned up too loud when you are with family and friends trying to have a conversation and especially when the music is not to your taste, I suppose sometimes the music is more suited to an older generation, as I know some friends who are in their late 60's and early 70's who do enjoy the music but still say it is too loud. Sorry I am more of listening to 60's and upwards classic hits, but again not too loud when trying to have a conversation. It is handy to where we live, but still do not go in their too often. Their food is reasonably priced but it is not really top quality, I suppose you pay for what you get. We will go back but don't are not in too much of a hurry.

This review is for Gold Town Framing, Mothar Mountain QLD

Talk about friendly people and service, if you want all of this and a good price well made frame you cannot go any further than Gold Town Framing. I am on a pension so for my very 1st piece of art work they made a frame from my choice of wood and did a great job and sold it to me for an excellent budget price. I was extremely happy. They kind of make you feel as part of the family, very down to earth attitude. I also approached them at one point if they would donate a couple of very small frames for 2 paintings that I painted as a donation to our local Lions Club for a raffle to raise some funds. Elly did so without any hesitation at all. They are a little out of Gympie if you head down the Noosa Rd, but they do have signs up further out. They are open on Wed, Thur and Fridays and Saturday by appointment. So for good price framing you cannot do better than Gold Town Framing.

This review is for Mama & Papa's Pizzeria, Gympie QLD

We have been to this Pizza place on a number of occassions and will always go back for more. They have lunch time specials during the week, so I am not sure if they do on weekends. They are closed on mondays so don't go then. I really enjoy their tortellini and their garlic pizza is so yummy. Haven't had a bad meal here yet.

This review is for CJ's On The Park, Gympie QLD

verified email - 07 Jun 2008

We wanted somewhere for a late morning tea and thought that seeing we hadn't been to CJ's since new owners we would try them once again. Not too impressed I must say. We only had scones and skinny muggachinos. It took ages for the waitress to come back to take an order and we were the only 2nd table of people there. The scones were crappy and very dry and crumbling away, they used that aerated whipped cream out of a can and very little of it so it was really only enough for 1 half of 1 scone between the 1 scone each delivered. The coffees were so cool it wasn't funny. The curtains in the place were discusting and some were tied back and others not, they used red and white check gingham material which looked very scrappy and frayed in places. Even the table looked as if it hadn't been wiped properly. The new owners are not doing this restaurant a good service and we know we will never go back again, because if they couldn't get simple scones right what hope did they have for getting other food like a cooked meal right, and it was a weekend and they were not busy means maybe other diners had dined there in the past and certainly were not coming back. It was really a waste of time and money. The overall of this restaurant even for simple things like a Devonshire tea need a huge improvement.
