This review is for Little Lamb Hot Pot, Haymarket NSW

Going to this restaurant was my son's idea. Not only am I not experienced at hot pot, but quite frankly I find the whole idea gross. As if that wasn't bad enough, the quality of the food at this restaurant is honestly deplorable. All of the food except for the veges is put out frozen, they don't even try to hide this. Most things come out of packets, which they also don't hide. Honesty is good but they don't seem to have any shame at serving frozen packet food, seriously? The only thing fresh was the tiny selection of green veg and the fish heads. There was no chicken there either. The restaurant is upstairs, and I had no warning of this on their site, if I would have known this I would definitely not have gone. There are many stairs to get to the restaurant and if anyone is like me with bad knees your screwed as there is no elevator. One of the worst parts of the nights was once we got upstairs we were all hit by a heatwave, hot pots produce steam and in an upstairs environment, well heat rises, so yes it is very hot, too hot. When it came time to leave we found that we couldn't even get out, it is so tiny an entrance way. If anyone stands at the counter to pay, no-one can get in or out. Quite frankly, the whole set up is very very poor and Im shocked it passed council planning. Other than that, I found the service to be excellent, the staff were all very lovely and helpful. If only those lovely staff were in another restaurant I might have had a nice dinner. I want people to be aware of how poor this restaurant is, don't get stuck going there because you bought some restaurant voucher on a deal website, because you will highly regret it.

I have long heard of the high quality of the food here, and they deserve every raving comment on their cooking, its simply amazing! You will never taste bakery style foods with such fine flare, as this. Gourmet style bakery honestly. I have also long heard of bad service at this busy little store, many saying staff were simply rude. On my visit to the store I had quite the opposite, to the extreme. I was served by a very cool looking young man, friendly. When I opened my purse to pay I realized that I didn't have any hard cash on me, it was all in the bank. How embarrassing! I asked the young man where an ATM was and basically there wasn't one nearby. He then said that he would sort it out for me. He asked how much little coin I had in my purse, I was way short. He said to me, "that will do" took the money and gave me my food. It wasn't a great deal of money that he let me off, but the shock was that he simply did. He didn't make a big deal out of it and removed my embarrassment. Not to mention I was so hungry that I could have gone back to my car empty handed and started chewing on the seat covers. I was truly grateful and super impressed by the friendly service that all of the staff gave me. The female staff were also so nice toward me, of course they heard what was happening. I felt so welcome there and would recomend this little shop to all. The pies are so amazing, never eaten anything like it before, so unique and delicious.

This review is for Breadtop, Parramatta NSW

I want to start by stating the fact that YES the food is pretty damn good. It is the service that I have issues with. I went to Bread Top just yesterday at closing time. I asked the only person there, a young female. if they discount their donuts at the end of the day, to which she replied NO and then walked off on me. She busied herself cleaning up. I wasn't finished talking to her and wanted to buy products, so I called her back, astonished that she even walked off in the first place. I asked for the last remaining man shaped donut, and then walked over and picked up a coconut tart, telling her that I wanted this one too. She put them on a tray and walked away. After some 5 mins of waiting for her to return with our sweets in a bag, I noticed that once again she was working packing up. So again I called her, she comes, I say to her is there a problem? which she didn't understand because she had next to no english speaking/understanding skills. Ok she didn't get that so I will re-phrase it, where is our food I asked? she just stood there looking at me with a blank stare, I then realized that she once again did not understand me. Ok lets try this another way, my order? again blank look, another, my shopping?, still nothing, no recognition of the language I am speaking. She was pulling faces at me to show that she was struggling to understand me, all she said was "huh" over and over. Ok now this is getting ridiculous, so I speak slowly and clearly, where is my food? where is my donut and cake? I want the cakes? NOTHING BUT BLANK STARE? are you serious??? unbelievable. Oh ya, I forgot, in between asking her in many different ways, every time she didn't understand she walked off and went back to packing up. WHAT THE HELL! Is there a camera hidden somewhere, when is the camera crew of that new prank tv show, going to jump out and say surprise! I called the girl for something like the 6th time, I WANT TO PAY FOR MY DONUT, I AM HUNGRY, MAY i PLEASE HAVE MY CAKES? you guessed it, she stood there for a moment saying HUH? pulling stupid I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR SAYING FACES. By now I was more than flabbagasted. I have NEVER experienced such service, how is a young woman like that, who obviously doesn't speak ANY english, and understands nothing but pointing at food, get a job in Sydney, Austalia in an english speaking country serving english speaking people??? If someone would have told me this story I would never have believed it, but its true, it happened to me and my daughter. I hope that her boss just happens to read this, I know they are ALL asian workers, that is fine, but to put someone on front counter serving the public, and not understanding any english whatsoever, is sheer ridiculous, I couldn't even ask for a cake. What did she do with my cakes? I still do not know, she took them out the back on a tray and never returned with them, incredible!! I stood there for approx 20 mins trying to buy one donut and one little coconut cake. I think I will be telling this story to my grandkids for it is so ridiculous! I ended up leaving without my cakes, and to make it worse, I had purchased 7 take away chinese meals for my families dinner that very night. I put them down on the counter while I was being served. This young woman held me up so long that behind my back, someone managed to sneak up behind me and steal my families dinner. What a shit day. I went home hungry to a hungry family, no dinner, no cakes, all because of one idiot! My recomendation, if you want to try the food as it is good, don't speak, just smile and point then watch where she takes it, have your money ready so she knows exactly what you want. Don't turn your back on any of your shopping, because the thieves there have no decency, they will steal your families food from within 6 inches of standing next to you. From one very peed off sort of customer, not really as I never got my food.
