Love this place. You will get some of the funniest most appealing different relevent and dynamic cards here. Service is great and the variety just worth the time. Prices are up tempo but is a card is the way you convey your thoughts then this place will not disappoint
As hot chicken goes, there is a lot of stiff competition as businesses learn to up their product lines. I do not live in this area yet so I have had another chicken shop to compare and I must say that chicken wizard, while freshly cooked and cleanly presented and very edible, did not live up to my local who make their chicken to be succulent and tender and not over salted. I had the chicken caesar salad and with a hot breast piece, no chips and the meat was dry to the bone. Lovely skin and definitely edible but not juicy. My daughter had a massive chicken burger with all the trimmings and again much of it was overcooked. I like this business as they are long term goers but we can all learn new tricks
I am really surprised no one has reviewed this place. It has write ups galore in major places eg; Sydney Morning Herald. You cannot get a depth of broth as your base as good as this. It takes days of making to get to the stage where you just can't get enough of this soup for your PHO. We took away our first Beef broth and were given most ingredients in separate containers to make up to the strength we desired. ie; chilli flakes and herbs like corriander. One dollar extra to take away the goods. If you sit and imbibe you will find a very slick operation as turnover is the main intention for this very well run business. Clinically clean to a fault and great turnover so ingredients are not lightly to be aged. The taste is better than what you get in Vietnam as my daughter says and she lived in Vietnam for 3 yrs. Lots of Beef Pho and some chicken selections but go there and prove me wrong. Very busy so not the atmosphere for fine dining but well set up and fast service. Highly recommended for quality all round
Approximate cost: $Av; $11
I can hear you saying, " WHERE? " About 10 klms from Millthorpe or take the Blayney turn off and head out along the back road. We were looking for an egg farm but not open. So we meandered into this iconic bit of history that stand with its VB sign on the tin roof. The bike culture know this place well with the dirt parking area and the outside seat under the tree. We embibed, not of the alcoholic type though and got a very friendly greeting and some local knowledge for our efforts. Just a bit of OZ that is worthy of a look and a pint of more than amber fluid
I am not an overly enthused person when it comes to these big supermarkets. My local coles leaves me wishing I had never been to the place but dropped in while in the waterloo area a few times and have been so impressed by the service and freshness and prices of fresh goods here that I had to write and drown my criticisms. I go early sunday mornings so maybe they are good for this time only but all round I have had such pleasant service that I wonder if they are all on highs but I will say in all honesty that it has been a pleasure thus far and wish they could export this culture to their other stores
Used to live in Bathurst when this business first opened. Wish I could have taken it with me when I left but lucky Bathurst. French in all techniques and simply quality and class beyond what you get except in France. Now in Keppel st in a little cream and green front st cafe where you can sit and enjoy the fare in comfort. Pies are just to die for, pure real beef steak, no jelly extra flavourings, just gentle small offerings of veg in them and pastry that is light. Quiches and lemon curd tarts with that little pinch of bitter rather than sugar, chocolate profiteroles OH YUM and little custard delights that just tinkle your fancy without sinking you. What a delight to be found here. All success to this magician of the oven
Approximate cost: $4 upwards for each item
I am giving this the "all stars treatment because it is great for those who love quality and perfection. If you want a cheap meal then do not go here. You make a trip from Sydney early morning and feel like a breakfast in a quiet corner of an old home so sympathetically kept and cleaned. NOT ON!!!!!! Just lunch most days except weekends when they do dinners in the evenings. However we sat down for a cuppa and some fine fare for morning tea. What a creative genious this business is with their cakes and deserts. We could not stay for lunch but looked at the daily changing menu and found ourselves drooling. We took away a coconut covered ball of white sponge cream chantilly and devoured it later that day. $4.50 for this but the lemon meringue mini pie at (not so minny) was $7 but oh so good just to look at. This is class and in a village of such simple beauty, it is just a "HAVE TO COME BACK" because their reputation stands by them even if we had to take small offerings. Service was friendly careful to observe our needs and very knowledgable about the food make up.
Dropped in early to this little village facility with a friend who lives out that way. No one else in town served breakfast so we approached the counter of the Newsagent/bread shop/small grocery area/local crafts and arts come visitors corner and ordered the proverbial bacon and scrambled eggs. What a yellow egg does to ones sense of well being. We had toast and butter on the side and two cups of tea for $24 and were satisfied and ate heartily. Just a big open table in a corner of the store so nothing fancy but just good honest food and service. Would go back again just to look out the window and to find quiet
Went into this story for a dash board cover. Very little for my needs but I have an old car to fit so expected. Staff is light on but the service was helpful. A woman can get lost with selection and technical knowledge but these people handled me well and I was satisfied with price service and goods
Between Broadway and this Harris Farm there is considerable difference in quantity of goods especially dairy eg; cheeses. I have chosen to go outside of the main supermarkets and source much of my bread cheeses fruit/veg nuts biscuits and meat from these stores. Sometimes the prices are a bit above some other green grocers but the specials come with extra good freshness and there is a real desire to stand behind the ozzie farmer which I like. Selections of meats is small but a great eye fillet yearling piece will set you back $19.99 kg which is so much cheaper than major stores. I find my eyes looking at things I never viewed before because it is small enough to do so yet filled with labels and foods that are different. Staff are pleasant and always ask if I need help and are ready to give it when I need it. I like the newsletters which tell me of the seasonal offerings and where they come from. Always worth a try for a good solid shop. Parking at the door in the covered car park.
