My favourite panache restauraunt out of those I've visited and also the one I've visited most because of the great movie money deals they offer through being located next to Readings Cinemas. Wonderful place to enjoy lunch either before or after a movie. I keep planning to try one of their sweet crepes however give in instead to having my old favourite choices of either the seafood or the chicken kiev crepe. Nice simple food that is great tasting. Could do with a different salad selection but otherwise it's all good

As with all panache restaurants I've visited the food is tasty and there is always something there that I want to order. I find that Panache in Geelong West is very squashy in terms of layout which makes it less pleasant than I'd prefer however it's still my choice when dining in Pakington Street.

My recent movie visit involved a gold class experience as part of a birthday gift. The small cinema and comfortable seats always make that part of watching a movie with gold enjoyable and there is great service. On the downside the menu available in gold is outrageously expensive. It would be so much more enjoyable if they would add some lower priced items to their collection. Once they used to have small icecream tubs available which was perfect now you need to pay around $15 for an icecream sundae instead. It was incredibly good but I do think there should be cheaper options. The other negative is that there are no toilets for the gold class area requiring a longer walk if needing to use these facilities while watching a movie. Overall village is good for gold class however I'd go somewhere else to watch a movie rather than use the other cinemas at Village Geelong

Readings is a book lovers delight which means for me it is always a wonderful adventure and exciting place to visit. There is great variety with the books, and I also enjoy looking through their dvd collection. In particular I was excited to find a dvd tv series that was new to me ( Inspector Alleyn Mysteries). There was another series I wanted to buy that wasn't on the shelves however a staff member spent considerable time searching after seeing mention that one copy was meant to be in the store. He was able to locate this and was then continued to be polite and friendly when I ended up purchasing the other series instead. Really nice place to just relax, browse and enjoy

This review is for Port Campbell Takeaway, Port Campbell VIC

Arriving in Port Campbell mid-afternoon my friend and I soon found that many of the cafes there were no longer serving lunch. Thankfully we found that the Port Campbell Takeaway was and everything went well as we placed our orders.

Then began the long wait. We encountered several mixups with our meal and some upset customers who because of the first mixup thought they were paying for my milkshake (they hadn't). In the end after dealing with a rude staff member, I had a really tasty meal but left feeling bad because my friend never got his food.

This review is for Apostle Whey Cheese, Cooriemungle VIC

I have always preferred camberbert and brie to blue cheese until the day we stopped at Apostle Whey on the way home from seeing the 12 Apostles. Presented with an amazing array of tasting tidbits I found that one of their blue cheeses - Bolte's Bonanza was to change how I felt about cheese. Such an incredible experience and a very creamy blue cheese. I've been so thankful to also find a local stockist since my visit.

The visit to Apostle Whey was unscheduled and came about after seeing the sign on the way home. We arrived late in the day after a busload of tourists had just left and yet we were still given great service and made to feel very welcome. I'm not sure if I'll be in that area again but I'm very glad to have made that visit

This review is for Halls Gap Zoo, Halls Gap VIC

The first time I was preparing to visit Halls Gap i was amazed to find they had a zoo there. When I arrived I was thrilled to find we could purchase small bags of food to feed several of the animals including deer, wallabys, sheep and goats. My suggestion to anyone visiting is to wear old clothes and to carry water with you and some tissues for wiping your hands ... those deer sure make a mess as they lick the food from your hands and cover you in layers of dust. Messy but such wonderful fun. Make sure also that you keep some of your food for the animals you meet further along the path otherwise you'll be tempted to give it all to the deer who hover at the entrance gate to the zoo.

On my first visit there weren't that many people there so the animals were very eager to eat and it was nice and quiet wandering around. The second visit was a warmer day and more people and my friend and I both found that the animals were less interested in food (probably having already been overfed by many others). There was also a giraffe at the zoo on my second visit, I really hope there are opportunities in the future for feeding the giraffes and that the second giraffe arrives soon. The viewing area for the giraffe is slightly disappointing given how wonderfully displayed the other animals appear however it was still such a precious find to find a giraffe in Halls Gap of all places!

Zoo entrance is expensive but understandable when you consider the costs that must be involved in running such a wonderful place.

This review is for Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne VIC

I went to the Queen Vic again recently hoping to find a small purse. After looking at what felt like hundreds of different stalls and seeing many of the same things a number of times I ended up buying a bag from one stall but never did find that small purse. I did buy some baclava from one shop which was delicious.

I also noticed an extremely long line of people at one point in the outside area and at first thought it was for the toilets. Then I realised it was for the ATM! I guess there were a lot of people who realised that many stall holders don't take anything other than cash, it really was the longest line I'd ever seen for an ATM though.

The deli section of the market is definitely my favourite. Purchased some very nice falalfels from one store and hope to return next time I'm in Melbourne for more

This review is for The Quarry Restaurant, Halls Gap VIC

The food was expensive and it took a long time to be served even though there were only about three other people in the restauraunt on the night I was there. That said, the food was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal of chicken with a delicate creamy sauce and what really delighted me was the apple pie to follow. Excellent food and just what I wanted in the cooler weather

This review is for Ralphy's Family Byo, Halls Gap VIC

verified email - 31 Jan 2013

Arrived at Ralphy's and placed our order only to find that we weren't able to eat at the tables because it was too close to closing time which was disappointing. As it was it was probably better that we took our food to go. After a long wait we received our food and it was very ordinary and not at all tasty.
