Daniel did a very good job replacing a noisy, dripping downpipe with PVC, cleaned up after himself, and was very polite and friendly.

I used Kitchens for the Trade to renovate my kitchen. This included designing the new kitchen layout for benches, cupboards/drawers, splashback etc, removal of the old kitchen, and installation of the new kitchen, including coordinating the tradies for the electrical and gas work, and the glass splashback and stone bench top installation.

I was very pleased with their design service provided by Lee, because my house is old and non-standard, so I needed to design all cabinetry to fit the space rather than being able to buy pre-made standard sizes. I also wanted a company that would organise all the additional tradespeople required for the job, as I didn't have time to do this coordination, so I was pleased that Lee and his team could also do this for me. The actual workmen were all pleasant and hard-working, and got the job done in the minimum of time. The price was excellent as I was on a limited budget, and the kitchen was extremely good value, and all options I wanted were itemised in the quote. For the price I paid, the quality is also very good, although if you want the very high-end finish then you might need to pay a lot more. But if you want a very good quality kitchen at an excellent price, with a company who does all the work for you, I would highly recommend Kitchens for the Trade.

I had my old TV antenna bracket replaced with a new one. The office was very professional when I phoned them, and the technician arrived promptly at the time arranged. He worked out that the old TV antenna pole was attached to the roof by a couple of rotten bits of wood (explaining why my reception was so bad when it was windy), replaced the bracket with a new one and got the antenna lined up for optimal signal strength. The price was as quoted ($100 incl parts), the job was done well and the technician was very pleasant, so I would definitely recommend this company to others for antenna installations.

I have used Lauren's blinds to fit and make all the roman blinds, holland blinds and curtains in my home. Jenny and Lauren came around to my home (in Northcote) with all their samples, provided expert advice, did all the measuring, and then came back to install the blinds and curtains when they were all made, and they look fantastic! This is a family-run business, and has a personal touch that you don't get from many places nowdays. The quality and workmanship of the blinds and curtains is excellent. In fact, after getting them made, I went back a year later and got a few more blinds, and they also made all the curtains and blinds for my parents place. Highly recommended!

I have used Aaron twice to fix burst water pipes in my house. These jobs required lots of crawling under the house and awkward work, and Aaron did it all with a pleasant demeanour and professional approach (including once in the rain). In one case, the work Aaron had to do was caused by a previous poor plumbing job, and he explained to me his choice of materials and why he thinks they're the best for the job. Aaron has always been able to come on the day that I phoned, calls an hour before arriving to confirm, and also provides a professional receipt. I have tried a number of different plumbers, but will never use anyone else now that I have found Aaron, who is so professional, reliable and also very pleasant.

I used Champion Glass and Mirrors to replace frosted glass panels with clear glass in my French windows. The glazier was pleasant, came when he said he would, and offered me a good price. However, I was disappointed to see at the completion of the job that he had reused the same wood beading that originally held in the panes. Some of the beading got damaged or splintered in its removal, which meant that I had to try and fill in all the cracks and splinters in the beading, which was quite a bit job. I would have appreciated being offered the opportunity to install new beading, and would have been happy to pay extra for it, but the glazier did not do this, so ended up with a lower quality finish than what I expected.

I had John tune my very old Wertheim piano, which was quite out of tune and which other piano tuners thought would be too difficult to tune. John did an excellent job at a very good price, and he managed to tune the piano up to concert pitch. I will keep using John as a piano tuner as he was very reliable, polite and did a great job.

I have had Des do a number of small electrical jobs for me, including installing power points, isolator switch for my hot water system and fixing my 3-in-1 bathroom light/heater. Des is always happy to do these small jobs, he comes when he says he will, and does an excellent job at a very good price. I always phone Des for my electrical jobs, and would highly recommend him.
