One of the worst things about moving to a new area is finding good reliable services like doctors, dentists, hairdressers and mechanics. I have a very old and much loved Nissan Patrol and not only do they work on it and keep it going for a fair price, they are up front about issues that are not a problem yet. For example if the brake pads have a little wear left they will let you know rather than changing them. They are fairly priced, upfront and reliable and my old girl runs like a dream every time they do a service or fix something.

While there are other Chinese Restaurants in the area that are probably better quality, this has to be the best compromise between quality and price. They are a lot cheaper than some of the others, and are probably 90% as good. This has become our go-to Chinese option.

This is a good, honest and reasonably priced Chinese take away. It's one of those places that is good but not worth raving about.

Teh lunch options are super cheap and very good and we love the veriety and quality of the groceries available. We have not found the huge savings we expected though, except on the non perishables when bought is very large quantities. We will keep our membership mainly for the range of groceries that are not available anywhere else (such as a great veriety of asian and American food) and for the very cheap petrol, but it does not quite make it to the wow we were expecting. I have no doubt that for businesses and very large familes this would be a different story.

This is one of the only chinese restarants in Bundaberg worth eating at in my opinion, and it wins overall as it is by far the nicest atmoshphere. The food is always very well prepared and tastes amazing, and the service is usually very good. I have seen them struggle a little on very busy nights, but we still got our table and food in a reasonable timeframe. As with any business my main concern is my kids, and they are welcome here. One staff member even crawled along the couch playing tiger with my son (on a quiet night), and later in the evening when he got a little too excited and knocked over his rice all over the floor, she was not at all upset. This is not the cheapest chinese around, but it's definately worth it.

Approximate cost: $16-$20

This place is awesome. The decor and the staff are quirky but so genuine and nice. Our kids were welcomed with smiles and good china picked especially for them (they serve on an eclectic mix of fine china including willow, noritaky, shelley etc just to name our china on the day). We had a small shared lunch anticipating the massive slab of cake you get for $13. The lunch was wonderfull, fresh and well presented and even with our preperations to leave room for the cake, the four of us could not finnish it (all the cake options also taste amazing by the way). My wife loved the hot chocolate and I had the licorice tea that came in a little house shaped teapot (again a nod to the 4 and 6 year olds eating with us). This is not a cheap place to eat (although if we had bought 4 small cake slices anywhere else it would likely cost more and lead to less cake. we will definately be back again and again.

Approximate cost: $30

If you need a good, honest and reliable mechanic (and who doesn't) you will not be disapointed here.
These guys were always very professional and well organised as well as being honest. If something could wait a little then they would tell you, and when something did need repair or replacement they always gave the option of higher quality or lower cost parts. We had a classic Mustang as well as an XR6 and family wagon serviced by them and they knew how to deal with the lot. They are one of the few things I miss since leaving Bundaberg as we are yet to find a mechanic as good in Brisbane.

I was so pleased that this chain came to Brisbane. I was a huge fan in Japan and they have reporduced it perfectly here. The rice patty buns are a little tricky to eat, but so nice as a change from bread, and the teryaki burger is to die for. try it for the experience and i think most people will come back again for the taste. Being Japanese the ordering is very organised and even when very busy i have found them fast and efficient.

This review is for Poet's Cafe, Montville QLD

I have a soft spot for poets as we had our wedding reception there. For this type of event I'd give it 5 stars but as a cafe it is only the location that earns it a 4th star. The coffee and service are fine, if not amazing, but the cost is just too high for the basics. Definately worth a visit though, if you are tourist heading through.

Approximate cost: $6+ for coffee

I am not ceoliac, so there are other cafes I tend to prefer simply due to the price, but if one of your party needs Gluten free options this place cannot be beaten. One gluten free friend has told me she considers this to be the best gluten free cafe in the Brisbane area. Prices are overall a little higher than most places, but the range of gluten free options and the taste of thier gluten free cakes, makes up for this.
