I had my first baby at Jessie MacPherson. There were some wonderful midwives and nurses, and I found the food surprisingly good (although at the time I probably would have eaten anything!). We had a private room after the first night, and were lucky enough to have one of the large ones (some of them are just a normal size) - it was the size of a hotel room, which was just fantastic for accommodating more than two visitors at a time! People go to Jessie Mac because that's where people are transferred to if they have complications, so I felt comfortable in that regard.

We had our ceremony and reception at Roselyn Court. The venue is lovely, the function room was perfect, the food was good, and we had a fantastic time.
The issue that marred our event, however, was that despite the staff telling us there was only every one ceremony per day at their venue, on the actual day we discovered they were squeezing another one in. They kind of hinted at this, but were not completely honest and gave us nowhere near enough time to take in the resulting changes to our reception. We'd been assured our guests could stay in the Chapel for the pre-dinner drinks - it was winter and we had some elderly relatives so we were very keen for this part to happen indoors with seating. Due to the other ceremony, or guests were shifted out into the gardens, and were even eventually joined by the guests from the other wedding! It was cold, there were no seats, and it started raining so they then had to let our guests into the reception room while we were still trying to have photos taken in there.
The staff looked after us well for the rest of the evening (we presume to try and keep us happy) and the whole event really was fantastic. We were just disappointed that a) they weren't honest enough to tell us (let alone ask our permission!) that they would be moving our guests outside despite confirming many times they would be indoors, and that b) whilst we sent two letters thanking them for their service but expressing our disappointment with this issue, we didn't receive any reply whatsover. Made us feel as if our concerns didn't matter now that we'd paid them our money and they were done with us!

The shop looks fantastic and the prices are excellent. We bought quite a few 'big ticket' items when expecting our first baby and felt we got excellent value compared to other stores. The staff were friendly enough, but each time we have been there has been some sort of issue - staff struggling with the computer system, with setting up a layby, confusion re products we were enquiring about, staff disagreeing about things (in front of us), a staff member sending us around to the pick up location at the rear of the store but leaving us sitting there 15 minutes because she hadn't told anyone else we were there... The range of products and the prices are appealing, but the problems we've had on every visit have been unfortunate.
