I love Banks Thai, it still happens to be one of the best value Thai restaurants in Newtown. The food is yummy and is prepared with little fuss. The decor is a little tired but the food makes up for it. As the weather is starting to get colder I like to get the chilli basil beef as it warms me up.

I would highly recommend this restaurant as it consistently serves great food.

The lamb shank and red wine pie at Black Star Pastry I stumbled upon in my lunch break was absolutely delicious. I fancy myself something of a pie connoisseur (yes really) and this is definitely in my top 3 pies of all time. To top it off, I spent a lovely hour outside in the sunshine drinking a good coffee and enjoying my book. I've been back a few times for the lamb shank pie, but I'm dying to try one of their cakes or pastries which look equally as good. There was a bit of a line each time I've been, but that only goes to show how good the food here really is.

I took my dog, Toby into Petbarn at Lawrence Street Alexandria. He has recently demolished his doggy bed and we needed to get him a new one. I was able to take Toby into the store and try him out on a wide variety of different beds. Some of the shelves were a bit high and the salesman was able to help me get the beds down so that Toby could try them. I have always found the staff friendly and relaxed and it is a pleasant place to shop.

There was a time that it was years between dentist visits. I have been going to Dental Connect for about three years. My Dentist is Dr Ming Ann Ong she is easy going, unassuming and makes you feel at ease and relaxed. She explains what she is doing and has an ability to keep any physical discomfort to an absolute minimum. I now enthusiastically make an appointment every six months. If you have anxiety about going to the dentist then I would recommend seeing Dr Ong.

We have been taking our cat Sufi to petVets for the past 7 years and our dog Toby for the past two years. A couple of months ago Toby had a bad case of colitis and was passing blood. This freaked me out and I was able to speak to James who was patient and reassuring. I was even able to use my iPhone to take some rather unpleasant photos of the little mess that Toby left behind. I sent the photos to James and he was able to make a immediate assessment. I appreciated that he was able to think outside the 'box'. I would thoroughly recommend petVets as they are friendly professional and simply take good care of our pets.
