We always hire Jumping Castles for the kids birthdays. It keeps all the kids entertained which means we get to enjoy ourselves too. We'd seen one of their Jumping Castles (Madagascar) at a friends son's birthday party and it looked great. We ended up getting the Scooby-Doo castle with a slide, it looked brand new, and they cleaned it inside and out after they set it up (never seen that done by others). The staff were uniformed and friendly. Not only was it cheaper than the place we used to use but we had it for the whole day (instead of just 4 hours). We'll be using them again, we've already booked them for our works Christmas party.

Approximate cost: $310

We tried Spa-Bark after it was recommended to us by friends at our obedience club. At first, we just thought we'd go over there to keep our friend happy (she'd told us we should go over there quite a few times) and we were getting a good job from our current groomer (or so we thought!). We took over our 5 year old Schnauzer and were wrapped when we picked him up. He had never looked so good! It's the best clip he's ever had by far. Heaps better than our old groomer and cheaper. It's takes us 45 minutes to drive there from our place but I think we'd still go there even if it took us 2 hours. Out the back where they do the dogs looked very clean (again better than where we'd been) and the staff were nice a friendly.
Now we find ourselves telling other people to go to Spa-Bark. Highly recommended.

Meet mates here on occasion for a beer after work. Have had a feed a few times. Good meals, really big. Had the "longneck and parmy" deal. It was a bit of a battle to get through. They don't serve light beer on tap which is a bit disappointing for those who want to have a couple of lights before driving home (you'll have to buy stubbies)

Approximate cost: $20

We had our Wedding reception at Pelican's Landing. The view is one of the best you'll find in Melbourne. Brilliant back drop for our photos. The food the was good. The function room was a good size for us, we had about 70 guests for a cocktail style reception. We also stayed in the Penthouse suite that night, very nice. It was great having everything there so we didn't have to worry so much about timing and transport. Highly recommend.
