I took my son to Donut King for a donut and cappucino. The cappucinos were great, nice and hot and just lovely. The donuts were out of this world. We sat and had some real quality time, undisturbed and in a nice quiet environment. It was great. We both enjoyed it, so much that we didnt want to leave. The service was very good. The guy who made the cappacinos asked exactly how we wanted them, which adds a lot to the enjoyment if you get exactly what you want. Lots of businesses could take a lesson from that. Ask your customer what they want, give them choices. Anyway it was a memorable experience, as simple as it sounds. But made memorable by the good service.

I love being in this shop. I dont know if it is all the beautiful sparkly things or the great sales team who always make me feel welcome. I could live here. Sure I have spent an innumerable thousands of dollars here, but that is testament to the great service and quality of the products for sale. I always feel "at home" in Bevilles Northland, even though I am standing the whole time usually gazing at diamonds set into gold. Nothing ever is too much trouble, even toward closing time and the staff are both helpful and knowledgeable, giving good advice. Truly more than a jewellery shop, it is a whole experience.

With a young son, Ive been to a lot of video/games/DVD/entertainment shops and I can honestly say that this is the best one I have come across. OK its quite a distance out of the way for me now, but I go there just cos its such a great business. It has the games I want to buy for my son and the service that is second to none. The guys there will go out of their way to help you and answer any questions or solve any problems you might have. The store is usually pretty busy but isn't that a great indication of how well they treat people and what great service they give. The guys are usually joking amongst themselves and with the customers, making a sometimes long wait a real pleasure. The products are good value too.

This review is for Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Melbourne VIC

This is truly one of the best legal firms in the country. Yes, I used to work for them before I left the workforce to have a child, but they are brilliant whether I worked there or not. Most solicitors appear to have a concern and consideration for their clients and not all of them really do. Mallesons Stephen Jaques not only have a sincere caring for their clients but a great knowledge and ability to use that knowledge to do a great job for their clients.

While employed with them I also used their services to purchase a property. I believe they did the same quality work for me that will do for anyone and the quality was top grade. There were no problems or issues and everything went smoothly, not because it was an easy transaction, but because my solicitor did everything well.

Just a quick look at their website and you can see the awards and accolades they have won by being the best in their field. They are an unusual law firm - an honest one.

Hairhouse Warehouse is a total hair experience. Not only do they do really good hair cuts and hair styles, but the products they use (and dont they always make your hair look perfect?) are obtainable in the store. I havent let them cut my hair ... yet, but I use their products. The products are on the shelf waiting for me with all the necessary tools to keep my hair looking great. The staff are good there too, always prompt and knowledgeable and they are full of great ideas.

This review is for Target, Doncaster VIC

So I walked into Target about 20 minutes before closing time, just wanting a few men's t-shirts. There is a lady at the entrance to direct you where to go. Great. Score 1. I go to where she indicated and there they are, just like she said. There is a huge range and after shopping unsuccessfully in a couple of other stores I am well pleased at the range. Score 1. Fifteen minutes later the loudspeaker crackles something about closing time and finalising purchases. Im not finished but getting anxious as I need these shirts today. A staff member approaches me. OK groan, I know Im going to be asked to leave and I prepare the "Just two more minutes" speech. The staff member asks if she can help me. What?!? I tell her what Im after and she directs me a bit further into the store to a big display of the shirts Im seeking. "How about these ones?" she asks. Too anxious to be concerned I take a few of the ones I want and start to make my way to the checkouts, thanking her for her help. At this my son says "I need a belt". I tell him the store is closing and the saleslady says the belt rack is over one aisle to my left. I stop to buy a belt and go to the checkout. Its only in the checkout queue that I realise what great service I have just been given. Perhaps Target staff is more interested in its customers than in getting away on the dot. The shirts were also of a better quality and cheaper than ones I had found in Target's competitors.

This review is for Bendigo Bank, Doncaster East VIC

When the public decided they had had enough of the mainline banks, along came Bendigo Bank. Starting out as a Credit Union didn't stop Bendigo Bank from reaching great heights. I really like Bendigo Bank but its a little bit further away from me than the mainline banks and so I dont use my account much. I do like the staff there, they are always pleasant, helpful and very knowledgeable. Just the way a good bank should be. Bendigo Bank is far above the other banks in service, quality of products and value for money. The only drawback is the relative isolation of the bank branch store.

This review is for Riot Art & Craft, Doncaster VIC

I just love Riot Art & Craft in Doncaster. The variety of the stock they sell is always amazing and Im sure every Riot Art & Craft has great service, but I cannot tell. Doncaster Riot Art & Craft has great staff with great service. I figure the girls love their jobs as they always seem happy and are fighting each other to help us find what we want. Im surprised at the variety of products too, as they seem to have everything to do with art and craft. Just walking around there can give you ideas for projects you never would have thought of. And if that is not enough, the staff can give you lots of ideas too.

This review is for 3 Shop, Doncaster VIC

verified email - 28 Dec 2008

I went into the 3 Shop over two years ago wanting to enquire about a mobile phone. The service was great. I asked heaps of questions and the knowledgeable staff member gave me all the answers. There were a few she didn't know, so she rang up to find out. So happy was I with the service, the product and the available plan that I signed up on the spot and ... have never looked back. OK so 3 are not always perfect and need to be kept in line. 3 do not have the best coverage possible, nor do they have all the best state of the art phones. But they have a degree of service that I did not find anywhere else. The sales staff went a long way to make me happy and they did that. I have been in mobile phones stores where the staff seem to want to make themselves happy, but that is another story. I was impressed with 3 Shop and remain with 3 still today even though my contract expired some time ago. I will go and get a new contract with 3 so I can experience that same quality of service again.

This review is for Doncaster Veterinary Hospital, Doncaster East VIC

verified email - 28 Dec 2008

I found a possum in the garden that had been attacked by a cat. Naughty cat. The poor creature was very distressed, but not so distressed that it wouldn't let me pick it up in a towel. I took the animal to the Doncaster Veterinary Hospital as it was the closest one. Due to the nature of the problem I was half expecting to be turned away as I couldn't pay a big bill for the care of a wildlife creature.

I was very surprised that not only did the Vet take the animal and treat it, but that payment was not expected and then the service in such an occasion was lovely. I was treated like a valued customer. I was made to feel like I had done a good thing by bringing the damaged animal there and allowing them to treat it. I was very impressed with both the service and the standard of treatment. If I had pets, which I don't, I would not take them anywhere but Doncaster Veterinary Hospital.
