Took some business clients for pre-booked after-work nibbles and drinks. The food platters were amazingly good. Everything was excellently tasty, the quantities of food provided was plentiful and it was all ready on time. Precinct has plenty of space and on a week night as it was, it felt a little cavernous, but the renovation they've done on the place makes it a pleasant place to entertain clients

This review is for Argy Bargy, Balaclava VIC

Nice to have another little bar to hang out in on Carlisle Street - and this one is really far away from the madding crowd! A bit younger in clientele than its Carlisle counterparts, Argybargy is a fun and easy place to grab a drink and a cheap pizza (and watch the footy too, if that's your thing!)

Quick service for a big job of removing an old intercom and installing a new one. The work was done without fuss or mess and the disturbance was minimal.

This review is for Moka, Balaclava VIC

verified email - 30 May 2009

Moka does a reasonable breakfast/brunch menu and has a nice courtyard out the back that you can dine in. It's much easier to get a table here than a lot of other cafes on Carlisle Street, but this I would say is largely due to the satisfactory, but not incredible menu. The food is good here, but not great.

This review is for New Inkerman Drycleaners, St Kilda East VIC

New Inkerman cleaned my suit well and turned it around very quickly for me, with a happy smile and no issues. They also returned the contents of the pockets to me in a very trustworthy manner.

This review is for Mother's Milk, Windsor VIC

Mother's Milk is a shopfront bar on Chapel Street in Windsor. It's small and intimate and can be a lovely cosy place to hang out. It has a 'private' room in the back, but it's a bit gloomy and grungy. The loos aren't great, but I've seen worse. Drinks are reasonable and you can sit outside and smoke if that's your thing.

This review is for Las Chicas, Balaclava VIC

verified email - 30 May 2009

Las Chicas is quite probably the most popular cafe on Carlisle Street, and once you manage to get a table there you find out why. The food is of excellent quality. The service friendly and the atmosphere buzzes. But if you're looking for brunch with a group of friends on the weekend you all better be wearing your lucky undies, cos nabbing anything more than a table for two without having to wait for half an hour would be a miracle!

This review is for Harro's Gourmet Pizza Bar, St Kilda East VIC

verified email - 30 May 2009

Harros' Pizzas are delicious. Fresh, healthy ingredients that make you feel like you're not having such a naughty meal as if you were to buy pizza from say, Pizza Hut or Dominos. The restaurant has a funny set up meaning that takeaway customers are left feeling they're in the way, however diners are comfortable. The service can be slow on busy nights.

This review is for Urban Burger, Balaclava VIC

verified email - 05 May 2009

A new outlet in the Urban Burger chain, the Carlise Street store lives up to the quality standard of its counterparts, however the service doesn't match that of the Chapel street branch. Good menu of tasty, fresh burgers with great ingredients - if a little expensive by chip shop burger standards.

This review is for Grill'd, Windsor VIC

verified email - 05 May 2009

The burgers at Grill'd are gourmet, delicious delights. They are very expensive compared to a chip shop burger, or McDonalds for that matter, but the quality of the ingredients and the range of burgers to choose from is superb. A fantastic treat if you're looking to satisfy a good-quality burger craving. The chips are good too!
