Dined here with family. We all enjoyed high tea, two of us with champagne. What a gorgeous location and the food was exceptional. I was so surprised when I couldn't eat it all. We even had the pleasure of watching a kookaburra fly in to take a customers sandwich. Our table had quite a chuckle.

There are a lot of stairs to get down to the gunners barracks, so if you have a family member with walking difficulties, mention this when making the booking as there is a boom gate to enter for access to the front door, however no parking so you will need to take your car back to the top.

Went on a girls lunch, there was 6 of us. The waitress was wonderful, very attentive. Our meals ranged from fish and chips, salt and pepper squid, corn cakes and crab prawn and snapper cakes, although I don't think there was any prawn or crab in my cakes. The meals were delicious and large portions. We were all very full after. We ordered two platter desserts, similar to a high tea experience and these were also yummy.

Upon getting the bill, we noticed we had been charged $30 corkage. We all threw in our share and I took the payment to the counter. I mentioned to a staff member I thought the corkage charge was a little too much and I was passed over to the manager.

The manager told me he believed that was a fair charge when customers brought in their own wine. Note that is $5 per person. I explained to the manager we brought in 2 bottles and purchased 4 from the restaurant. The manager then went on to say, well in that case we should have mentioned it to our waitress (who had left for the day prior to us getting the bill - and we didn't know of the charge until we received the bill). The manager didn't offer to make a refund, so I asked him what he would have decreased it to. After a bit of umming and ahhing he said $10, so I said that's great we'll have $20 back, which he did return to me, but I had to ask for it.

But it gets better, the manager had our bill in hand and noticed we had used the Entertainment Book discount which came to 19.95 and went on to say, that the restaurant also had to take into account customers who use this discount when dining. I said to him isn't that the incentive to get customers to dine in your restaurant, but he followed that with an explanation of how they wouldn't make much of a profit when customers bring in their own wine and use their discount cards - For goodness sake, we spent $277.00 so I can't see their loss today.

So, basically the food was delicious, was of a good size and the service was very good, however my experience with the manager made the visit quite dissappointing and I would hesitate dining here again.

Approximate cost: $277.00

This is only a small store with a small amount of seating inside and a little more outside. I ordered a Latte and must say it is definitely one of the best coffees I have had. The female staff member was chatty and smiled and made me feel really welcome in the store.

I discovered this business at a school fete many years ago. I found them again at the Wahroongha Village Fair. They grow their own Olives and along with selling olives they also make Oils. I purchased the Herb and Garlic Infused Olive Oil and their Balsamic Vinegar. I have tried other Balsamic Vinegars and have never found one as nice as River Flats. They also make a really nice Dukkah

I found these candles at the Wahroongha Village Fair. Their candles are made of natural vegetable wax and the scents are delicious. I was so indecisive about my favourite I asked a man also enjoying the scents and he picked the one I thought the nicest. At the markets they were charging $25 per candle or two for $40, so I bought four. I chose Frangipani, Cassis and Eucalyptus.

Approximate cost: $25.00

I have been ordering my fruit and vegetables from this business for some time now. I place an order fornightly on their website however you can choose whether to be a regular customer or a here and there customer. They send an email to remind me to place and order. The order is delivered to my door early morning so when I wake it is there. The delivery in foam boxes and ask for them returned wash time an order is placed. They even send a reminder text to put the box out for collection. I have tried other home delivered grocers where I specify the amount I want to spend and they fill a box to that value. With Incredible Fruits I choose the fruit and vege I want. They compare their prices each week with those at the supermarket and although I think some items are more expensive the quality is sensational. They service the Northern Beaches only.

We have been going to Emelia's for many years and always order the Rolls which are huge. We always order a Nachos Roll, Soya Roll and mushroom roll. The Nachos Roll is definitely my favourite. They're cheaper when taking away as eat in is starting to get a little expensive.

I buy sliced white bread everyday from this bakery. The first time I purchased it my husband said "Wow that was so soft" and my daughter returned from school and said "That was the best bread" They run out by about 3pm as it is made fresh daily. The cost of a loaf is $2.65 and today I bought bread rolls as well 6 for $3.00. They also sell coffee and cakes and their coffee is nice, but I have had the odd coffee that has tasted quite bitter. The staff are friendly and always welcoming. If there is only one staff member serving and they make coffee the wait can sometimes be a little frustrating.

This fast food outlet advertises itself as Asian Fast Food Chain. They sell hot dishes with rice as well as sushi and entree snacks. I had a Spring Roll and a Curry Puff, but I have had Sushi in the past which is really nice as well. The staff are always quick to offer assistance when you approach the counter.

All the butchers are a great bunch, very friendly. They know many of their customers by name. They smoke their own hams and the smell is fantastic. The meat is of exceptional quality. The price is a little more than most butchers but it is well worth it. They sell great sausages too. And they have a loyalty card program, which is great for a small business.
