When on our honeymoon my wife and I got hooked on Gelato, so much so, when we returned to Mackay we enquired of the Gelatissimo Franchise for Mackay, but it had sold. We were happy that Mackay was still getting Gelato. Since it opened we regularly head here after dinner in the city. There are plenty of flavours for everyone to choose and is always displayed nicely. Staff are friendly and serve everyone efficiently even when they are busy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cool dessert.

My brother got married in Airlie Beach and he had grooms men in Mackay, NSW & WA so decided to use Roger David for the guys suits. The plan was we just had to go to our local store, get sized and pay then collect a week later. Sounded easy. My brother paid for his and arranged for me to collect his in Mackay. I went in and got sized and was told to pay when I collect my clothes. A week later I got a phone call from RD Mackay to say me brothers clothes were ready to collect. I went in only to be told I couldn't collect it as the whole layby wasn't paid for. (What layby, there was no mention of a layby at all). I then proceeded to get onto the store manager where everything was organised and found out that the order was a layby and everyone had to pay before anyone could collect anything. Now none of us lived near a RD store (I was 40min the closest). We all had to go pay, then the clothes could be sent to the stores.
Mackay got in a pair of pants for me to try, but I couldn't take them when I got my shirt as It was the pair on the layby down Brisbane. Once we finally got all the pants and shirts, i advised my bro to try his... Shirt was WAY too small. So another 2 trips to RD to get this sorted.
All up I had to go 2x to be sized, 2x to pick up bro's clothes, 1x to pay, 2x to try on my shirt and pants, 2x to pick up my clothes and another 3x to get my bro's correct shirt. Thats 12 visits to collect a pair of pants and shirt for my bro, and the same for me.
We started organising about 4-5 months out from the wedding and correct shirt was 1 week before the wedding.

The worst part was if I could explain to the manager what was the frustrating part, it would have been fine. But she would not even let me speak. Would not listen and wouldn't let me say anything. Would NEVER rely on Roger David for a wedding.

When ever we go to Airlie, we usually go early and have breakfast here. The food is great and a decent size. Wish they didn't take the breakfast steak off the add ons but. Love the food and its just across the road fro mthe beach and Weekend Markets.

My wife and I usually come here for our birthday lunch as they send vouchers for reward member's birthday. This makes it a little more affordable as some of the meals are a tad expensive. We have spent over $100 between the 2 of us if you go 3 course. Service is usually good but sometimes it can be a tad slow. Food is consistent and love the salt and pepper calamari.

Every time I go here there is a huge wait and yet the chicken tastes like its old so must just be poor service that makes it slow. Staff need training and the restaurant and toilets need cleaning. Floor is always greasy and you cant wait to leave.

Had heard great things and went here with a friend for a farewell party dinner. Was set up on the deck which was nice overlooking the river, but there was a live band set up inside. The music was quite loud so we couldn't really talk much which was the point. The meals are tiny yet expensive so spent a lot more than we would have liked and left feeling very hungry. Staff were friendly but it was an ordeal to order as they would take 1 order than go leaving the rest of the group wondering if they were coming back.

We had our wedding here and leading up to the day, we got a few lunches to check the food. Every time the food was great and on the night of our wedding the staff were great. We were really looked after and the best part was how reasonable the prices were. Was not somewhere we thought of first, but once we had a look we were happy.

I love going to Sizzler as I know I will leave full, unlike many restaurants in town. The food isn't 5 star but is reasonable quality and there is mostly plenty of it. Prices are getting a tad expensive but it is good that people can select what they want.

This is my preferred fish and chips shop in Mackay. The fish is fresh and the chips consistent. If you order chips for 4 people, that's what you get every time. The oil appears to get changed regularly unlike many other places in town. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.

My friends often pick Coffee Club for meetings but we have had very rude staff at times. If something is wrong, staff jump to its the customers fault. The food is usually good but don't expect to get food under 1 1/2hr before the kitchen closes.
