While the actual venue and its location are nice to visit, the food there is another thing. I went there for dinner with my partner, and despite the fact that it was so foggy we couldn't see 2 metres outside of the window we were quite disappointed by the quality of the food. I had the kangaroo and my partner had a steak, both were very plain and not very flavoursome. They were presented nicely, but they were by far nothing that you couldn't just cook at home yourself with a bit of effort (and not have to pay $100 for the bill at the end!). We were quite disappointed, even though we had heard neutral reviews about the food in the past. You would be much better off getting dinner somewhere else on the mountain (LOTS of places) and then travelling up there at the end of the night for the view (or having takeaway up there)..

When we first walked into the restaurant we noticed it was quite small and busy, this wasn't an issue but if you are expecting a bigger restaurant this may not be the place for you as it is cafe sized and doesn't have much of an atmosphere. We ordered the standard all you can eat buffet for two. The starters were nice, although some of the waitresses could not tell us what was in some things, and being allergic to seafood I had to be very careful even after asking for no seafood, fish sauce, etc. Sure enough I got fish cake in my entree and wasn't told that it was seafood (looks more like tofu if you don't know what it is) and it was only after smelling it and asking a few more times that we established it was in fact fish cake and i had to pick it out as well as the food around it.. That was slightly disappointing, but apart from that everything else was fine. It's nothing exceptional, just your pretty average Korean BBQ, I wouldn't go back there in a hurry but if you're hanging out for that sort of food then I wouldn't not recommend it.

This Asian grocery has everything you need! I usually go to the groceries in Box Hill because they are always well stocked but this place is much closer to home and has everything - if not more - than all of the other Asian groceries I've ever been to! The in-store butcher is also very handy! The service here is also very good, the owner is sooo friendly and offered us samples of cake when we came in. All of the staff are helpful and friendly if you ask them where something is. I have often found this an issue in some other Asian groceries, especially when you can only speak English. I highly recommend this business and will definitely be going back regularly!

I went here for a banquet with a group of 9 people (including myself) to be sorely disappointed! It was a busy night, however the restaurant was not completely full. It took 20 minutes before we were even approached to ask if we wanted to order (didn't even come up before hand to ask if we wanted drinks) and even then we had to get the waitress' attention. First round of food was chicken and sweet corn soup, this took 50 minutes to arrive after ordering, then some fried won tons next, another 45 minutes. At this stage we were getting rather frustrated and then had to wait another half an hour until our mains came out, and then they had mucked up the order so they had to take one of the dishes back to change it (another 20 minute wait for that one). We were not impressed at all with the lack of service and extreme waiting times, we also were overcharged for drinks that we didn't even order. Never going there again.

When I read on here about the spring rolls I didn't realise how big they actually were! They fill up an entire small brown bag (the ones you get with dim sims in them etc).. They're about the size of a large hot dog! If you're eating for two, definitely get one and share it. Takeaway there was fast and good, they package everything separately so you can add the sauce etc when you get home so everything doesn't go soggy. Wasn't the best Chinese I've ever had but it was still good for the quantity and price. Definitely going there again.

The staff here don't really seem to be able to understand their customers' requests on hair styles etc. The staff aren't very friendly, they never introduced themselves to me (or my friend who also had her hair done at the same time) and got annoyed at me when I asked her to dry my hair a specific way (clearly the hairdresser thought she knew what she was doing and that I didn't) when in the end it turned out horrible because she didn't listen to me and I had to go home and re-do my hair!

I ALWAYS come here to get my nails done. I get french acrylics and every time they come out looking perfect. There is one young girl there that isn't as good as the rest of the staff, but she's just as good as doing anything else apart from acrylics. I've had her twice, once for a full set and the other for a refill and both times she was a bit rough but the end result was fine. The prices are very reasonable, and about the same if not cheaper than most other places around where you won't be completely satisfied. They also do normal manicures and pedicures, and have this huge foot spa with a really comfy looking chair, but I've never actually used it. The service is always REALLY quick, it's never taken me longer than one hour (even to get my nails re-balanced). They don't rush either, they're just really good at what they do. You don't generally have to make an appointment either but sometimes on Friday if you want to get a re-balance or something a bit more time consuming its best to call up or go in at least an hour before to give them a bit of notice, otherwise they might make you wait for a while.

The owners there are very friendly, its a family run business with the husband and wife running it. I love to go in there and just have a chat =) they make awesome chicken skewers and will even give you really tasty satay sauce for them if you ask! (A lot of places don't these days, which is sad). I'd definitely recommend it!

This review is for Red Salmon, Wantirna VIC

verified email - 05 Jan 2008

Personally I find Red Salmon quite pricey for what you get. A small main course for around $20. When you can go elsewhere and get a really interesting meal with large portions for half the price, I wouldn't bother coming back. I've been there twice with friends, we also shared some dips and had the same problem - three dips instead of four with a sticky balsamic vinegar counted as one. I ordered a hot chocolate and it came out almost room temperature, I wasn't too happy about that but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to wait 5 minutes for another one (the service was slowish because it was at a busy time).

Cameo cinemas have 6 cinemas plus an outdoor cinema that show blockbusters and also art house films. The feel of the place is very unique as it has been around for a long time and newly renovated.
