I filled up here last time I was at the coast and the service was very friendly. Good to see the little guy still around with all the supermarket branded petrol stations around. Price was about the same as them anyway and I didn't have to buy groceries to get it!
I remembered reading about this place on WOMO and called in on the way home last night. Yes, Phylos, the salt and pepper calamari is certainly delicious. The fish was okay (nothing to write home about) but the chips were lovely and crunchy. I would definitely go again if in the area.
My daughter started at this school a year ago. It has just about every culture on the planet and they make for a lovely little school with a role of 130. I have yet to see any bullying and it's like one big family where all the kids from Prep to Grade 7 know and look out for each other. In her last school there used to be one or two teachers on playground "duty" but here they are out playing handball with the kids. The principal is lovely as are all the staff. Unfortunately because of the multicultural aspect they have trouble attracting new students but once they start there are very few that leave. I highly recommend it.
I just read the last two reviews and was horrified. The police are extremely short staffed and crime is at such a high level now that they have no choice but to make "break and enters" a low priority especially when they have got people high on goodness-knows-what pointing guns at them. They have my utmost admiration and respect. I had a break-in at my house when I was living in Sydney and also a drug bust in the house next door and the officers and detectives could not have been more professional and understanding.
I grabbed a coffee from here this morning. The coffee was good but the service was terrible. The person that took my order was rude and I had to wait 15 minutes for a takeaway coffee. She didn't appreciate being reminded twice by me that I was still waiting. Table service might be better.
Stayed here last night and tonight as well. It's quite a basic room but very clean and neat and came with what turned out to be a very substantial breakfast. Bed's not too bad and bathroom has a good shower. For a basic hotel it's pretty good.
Approximate cost: $140 per night
We had lunch here today and it was delicious. I went for the salmon risotto while my colleague had the ploughmans (which came with a bowl of soup?!) but it looked delicious. The coffee was good, too. Real hearty winter tucker!
Approximate cost: $15
It's not an easy website to get around in a hurry but I've used it several times to book a weekend getaway and it's great value if you keep a look out.
I was recommended this sports centre by my O.T. I'm in a wheelchair and they have pools that are easily accessible so it was a real relief to get back in the water. It's a huge complex and lovely and clean. Staff are very helpful.
I have only tried their hot chocolates and had to get it to go as I was in a hurry but it was delicious. Not too sweet and nice and hot on a cold windy Melbourne day, it really hit the spot. I want to go back and explore the chocolates on offer
