We payed for a 1 bedroom villa and were placed in a 2 BR villa, including a spa, although we didn't use the second room. The apartment was larger than I expected. Although not particularly modern, the decor was okay. There were two pools and a toddler pool within the same area. As is common, the pools were not quite warm enough for a really enjoyable swim (in October). There was no play equipment, which we possibly should have checked for before going there.

The beach at the edge of the property is nice, although when I was there, no good for running on - the sand was quite soft and grainy. The gym was basic. The location is a bit out of town, but luckily it was conveniently located near the rainforests and big banana that we wanted to go to and also a shopping centre not too far away.

Within 5 minutes of sitting out at a table on the grass, I had decided I wanted to move to Nambucca heads. The view of the inlet is beautiful. I ordered the pumpkin burger (Called Missabotti madness) and the wedges to share. The food was amazing!! The combination of olive tapenade and pesto - wow!! Wedges were crisp and some of the best I've ever had.

Approximate cost: $15-20

I'll start by saying the food here is really cheap - similar to what you expect in a food court for lunch. The place was reasonably busy, but there was only one guy working - meant to be making drinks, taking orders (meant to be table service, but wasn't), taking payments and seating people. Wan't his fault, there just needed to be more staff on. Another large table kicked up a fuss, which meant they ended up being served food before us, even though they arrived after us. The loco burger was apparently good and came served with chips (not on the menu).

The tacos and burritos were watery and bland. I ordered the vego burrito and taco, which apparently included refried beans, but looked and tasted a lot more like 4 bean mix. Both of the veggie dishes were very very bland because of this. I did not need to order both - I thought the burrito would be small because of the price, but was reasonable in size. The meat taco was watery and also bland.

Approximate cost: $10

I had looked at a review elsewhere and thought we definitely had to try this place. Firstly, we arrived to find $4 parking fee / hour, which is a little strange since it is easy to find free parks in Byron Bay centre and this is out of town. I ordered the tofu burger, which probably should have been called the "sweet chilli sauce burger"....! It was okay, but I would never order it again. The teriyaki chicken burger was apparently good. The food was also a couple of $$ more expensive than you would expect for the type / style of food.
We did see a brush turkey and a lizard at one of the outside tables.

Approximate cost: $20 - 25

This review is for Replenish Massage, Byron Bay NSW

This massage was amazing! Far better than all but one other massage I have ever had. This guy obviously knows his stuff, but I found him arrogant and overbearing. I had gone in for a nice massage while on holiday, and he wanted to fix all of my problems. The only other problem was that he left frequently to attend to the phone or front desk.
Having said that.... the massage was so good I would definitely go back if I was in the area! There was at least one other masseuse there and I did not experience what they were like. The price is also very reasonable and I think makes up a little for the fact that he had to leave during the massage

Approximate cost: $65 / 60 Min

We ordered the Malai kofta, vege delight, naan, rice and samosa. The meal was really yummy. The service was good. The prices were slightly more than we are used to paying for indian. We received a loyalty card which entitled to a free chicken or vege dish after a certain number of visits (can't remember how many). The Vege delight dish was nice, but contained beans (legume variety) - the menu mentioned chickpeas, not beans, and I don't particularly like beans in this kind of dish.

We rented a great, modern 1 BR apartment for 5 nights while in the gold coast. There is a nice lake nearby, with a running / walking track around it and lots of bird life. The gym is basic, but does actually have free weights, which is much better than most accommodation places. The pool was just a little cool, but on a hot day, it would be okay.
The location is good in Varsity lakes with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, but not particularly convenient for getting to the beach, theme parks and into the hot-spots around the gold coast.

I chose this restaurant because of the slightly different gourmet pizzas. The pizzas have a thin base. We had pizza #5 (pumpkin, fetta, onion jam, rocket and pine nuts) and loved it. We also ordered the pizza bread (a thin base with minimal toppings) with pesto and parmesan, but weren't at all impressed with this. It might be okay on a traditional base.
We also had arancini balls (amazing!) and tempura chicken (great!). Nice decor in the restaurant too.

This restaurant is a step above most of those in the outer east - the decor, service, food and prices. The food is yummy, while a bit fancy, not ridiculously pretentious. I have been to this restaurant a couple of times and enjoyed it each time. For us, this is a celebration or special meal kinda place.

The food and atmosphere is nice. It can be a little noisy sometimes. I have been there are few times and have enjoyed it. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a nice night out
