Decided to try this fish & chips based on recent reviews (unfortunately, I am yet to find an outstanding fish and chips take away in the Western suburbs of Williamstown and Newport. The chips were very small and slightly over cooked. The batter fell off the calamari rings. Nicely cooked dim sims. Over all, nice tasting food but a little too greasy. Service was prompt and attentive.

The catalogue dated 8/12-24/12 advertised surf sliders for $8 but when I attended the South Morang store the staff member said that they only had 2 pairs left on the shelf (both a size 10, one for male and one for female). When I got home, I rang the Preston store to check for stock availability. The staff member said that they too had sold out. Found this a little hard to believe especially when both stores sold out upon catalogue commencement. Staff at Preston said they weren't getting anymore in. I drove all the way to South Morang, wasted an entire morning.

I catch the train daily and have found the train cancellation frequency appalling. There is certainly room for improvement. The morning and evening trains are jammed packed with people with little room to move. People are anxious to get to work/home on time so they cram and push as much as they can to get into limited spaces. Also there is not much to hold onto if you are left standing in a crowd. Cancellations are particularly annoying and frequent. Commuting to the city daily with a zone 1+2 ticket is very expensive and not worth the value for money.

Traditional looking Fish & Chip Shop. Down falls are the sausage meat patties used for the burger. At $7 a hamburger you would expect real beef mince not a substitute. Chips were good. Prices are a little more expensive than outer suburbs. Overall quality needs improvement.

Bus drivers are always friendly and ready to greet (with the exception of one or two). Buses rarely arrive on time which means I have to leave home 1/2 an hour earlier so I don't get to work late. Particularly annoying when you see 4 buses in a row and then none for 15 minutes. (Bus route 200, 201, 203, 205)

Totally nauseating when you see the pizza maker handle money and then go straight onto kneading the pizza dough without washing his hands. Staff at this pizza restaurant eat their own meal and then go straight into the kitchen area without washing their hands. Basic hygiene rules do not exist here. Health, hygiene and keeping customers safe is very important. Please wash your hands before handling food and after handling money. Will not be back.

My experience was as follows - In the 10 minutes I had to wait for my pizza, I saw 3 customers come in, order and pay. The pizza maker did not leave the front counter to wash up. He merely stepped aside and proceeded with food preparation. The other staff member ate his dinner and then went straight into the kitchen area without washing his hand. He was not prompted to wash his hands either. Gloves (or tongs) is a good idea. Not sure what has happened on other occasions but my experience was no exaggeration.

Terrible display of customer service at this News agency & Lotto in High St Thomastown, Senior male staff was arrogant and lacked the ability to provide decent customer service. This news agency needs all the customers it can get as it is already running on skeletal stock and clearly relies on locals to buy its tattslotto and newspapers alone. Staff shouldn't be scaring potential new customers away by being rude and unwilling to listen. Will never go back again, as even (on a different occasion) selling a simple stamp has proven too difficult for this business.
