It's very difficult to fault a place who sells a huge variety of yummy ice-cream and additional treats to add in except if you employ bad staff.

I've been here several times and on most occasions the staff has been great. There was on occasion when a young staff member clearly did not want to be there but on the next visit I was lucky enough to have the owner/manager who was lovely and very chatty. She gave me a frequent use card and a calendar after she learnt I frequented at least once per fortnight.

Worth a visit. Try the lemon sorbet to cleanse the palette or for a richer (after dinner) flavour, the Bailey's ice-cream.

Had lunch here today. This is our 3rd visit, the past was breakfast & lunch. Breakfast was Eggs Florentine and it was divine.

The food is always consistent and the service today was fantastic. It's Good Friday and there was plenty of staff waiting on us. Further, they didn't charge an extra fee for the public holiday which surprised me as many businesses take advantage of this. I was happy to tip them on this occasion for their great service.

I had the seafood pizza and it was lovely. Presentation and taste was faultless. I did rate my meal 3 star though as the pizza was $16 (7") and I've had a much larger size with more substance for that at similar establishments. However, it was enough to fill my belly and the taste was lovely. I had a sneak peek at some other meals around the tables and they all looked very nice especially the bruschetta, I'll be ordering that next time!

I'd certainly go back again (for dinner next time) as its the kind of place where you'd rarely fault the service or food and these sorts of establishments are getting rarer these days.

Approximate cost: $20

I use to buy the packaged bagels from Woolworths (can't remember the name) but they are about $4 for a pack of 4. Before I became a bagel expert I found them nice but one day, Woolworth's started stocking the packs of Glick's bagels for $2.99 (pack of 4). Oh my, had I wished I'd found them earlier! So much more appealing inside and fresher, not to mention cheaper. I am addicted to the white/poppyseed top with either honey or vegemite pending my craving each morning. After all the bagels I have tried, Glick's have come out the favourite. Recommended.

This review is for M & M's Rug Shop, Bentleigh East VIC

I found their website and selected a few style rugs of interest. I visited their store over a weekend to see the rugs in person and was fairly happy. I was in no rush to purchase at this time. A few days later I emailed for pricing on the style I liked as I hadn't actually taken note of cost during my visit and was sent an individual breakdown of each size and price. I replied and asked if a discount could be offered for multiple purchases and from memory it was about 5%.

A week or so later I took my email with me and went to the store in anticipation of buying all the rugs (4 in total) however when I got there I noticed the price 'she' (the owner or manager I think) had quoted me was higher than the price tags. As she wasn't around at the time, just a man at reception and a younger guy on the floor, I selected the rugs I was looking at and ask for a price to buy them today. The final price came just over $200 less than my quote and if I paid cash, an extra $90 discount. So, happy with this price I said I'd like to proceed.

Almost immediately a lady comes out from behind the back office and asks me if I am 'my name'. I say yes. She instantly accuses me of coming into her store to try and get a cheaper price than our email quote. I explained my reason was due to seeing them tagged lower than the email and that is in fact her dishonesty, not mine. She continued to belittle me in front of customers stating how cunning I was and how dare I not say who I was - we had only exchanged 2 emails.

I ended stating I was mortified by her dishonest quote via email which was ultimately discounted as full price anyway, not to mention her outburst. No doubt she realised her wrongdoing and reacted. If it were my business, I would have hidden out the back until I received the sale and then vented to my staff - but then again, I wouldn't be that dishonest and rude! I was hoping for integrity in this business and good customer service and I left thinking to myself 'typical rug business'. Needless to say I did not get my rugs.

Picture this scenario: You ring Myer and ask how much the new perfume is from 'such and such'. They say $89. You go into the store the next day and see it with a tag of $79. Would you go up the counter and say, excuse I called yesterday and quoted $89 so I am happy and willing to pay that amount.

I rest my case.

This review is for The Pancake Parlour, Chadstone VIC

It was hugely disappointing. For an establishment who specialise in pancakes I was surprised at the appearance and taste. Ours were overdone, not far off having a burnt flavor – very dark in colour with spots of pan residue. The presentation is average; I mean they could at least garnish them with a strawberry or something? Not just a dollop of butter. The flavour of the coffee (i.e. flat white) is very average. The only time I saw the staff were when they delivered our meals. Upon paying I was hoping to be asked how our meals were but of course this did not happen so I wasn't able to express my dissatisfaction. There was no thank you after payment. Overall, not what I expected and I doubt I will ever return. I sent feedback via their website but I am yet to receive a response.

I go to Red Poppy at least once or twice per week. Their buns, cakes and kids biscuits are great! There is always a huge selection so I am never disappointed. Recently, the fresh strawberry and cream cake I sometimes buy for a morning tea had sold so they made me one up on the spot - fantastic service. If you need a quick lunch, their sandwiches are lovely and fresh, made on the spot. They already have some great little Christmas treats coming out. If you are looking for consistency, freshness and good pricing without having to pay for all the frills of a boutique bakery then I highly recommend.
