This grocery store began quite small and has evolved and adapted with what customers wanted, becoming a carefully thought out grocery store. It is now one of the few stores in Geelong to stock many of your South African favourites, and the manager is even happy to get you nicely marbled biltong, not the dried out stringy pre-packed stuff you can buy elsewhere. There is also the broad range of spices expected at an indian grocery store. The manager himself is really friendly and helpful, if in the area, paying him a visit is worthwhile!
I love the atmosphere of Misschu. It is lively, with lots of chefs on the go and great music. The noise and bustle gives this little restaurant a great atmosphere. The menu mainly consists of many canpes and smaller dishes designed to share. This is great as you can try a range of dishes. It is quite a sweet Asian cuisine, but this isn't an issue for many.
One of my favourites is the peking duck pancakes. These are lovely pockets of delicious peking duck!
Another plus is the ability to order takeaway online at any time and pick it up at your preferred time. It is ready to go when you want it, which in such a busy venue is great!
Will definitely be going here more often.
I had my first set of acrylic nails done here, and at the time thought it was standard service, however since attending other nail salons I have discovered they were particularly rough, and not very friendly. I was pleased with the result but the service left a lot to be desired. I was also unhappy with the way they removed the acrylic, flicking it up with another tip. This left my nails scratched and chipped.
I hope this was a once off, however I will not be attending this salon again.
I went and saw Chris with a scoopon deal and am so glad I did! He has a wonderful manner and the salon is nice and personal. My cut really suits me, and he gave me the nicest coloured highlights. I will definitely be going back.
Almost always happy to fit you in straight away, while I was there they had a steady flow of customers. It cost $20 for a manicure and polish, and the staff are all really lovely. It was one of the better nail bars I've been to.
Approximate cost: $20 manicure
I got takeaway from here on a Friday night and they were quite busy. There was a half hour wait and the food was a bit oilier than I like.
In saying that, the fish as really tasty and they have a nice range on their menu. Their packs are good too, and their salads look good (I haven't tried one myself). I am going to give them another go, they are definitely worth that, and I would recommend them if in the area.
I have only ever taken away from this restaurant and have enjoyed the food every time.
I particularly enjoy the beef with crispy noodles, however al, of their dishes have had lovely flavour. It is Malaysian and Chinese, and has clean authentic flavours.
Approximate cost: $10-$25
Two of us went on a Tuesday night, which is an all you can eat night. It was $29 for the food, excluding some dishes.
The food came quickly and was really yummy! The prawn dishes were particularly nice, and well cooked.
We plan on going back often!
Approximate cost: $35pp
