Have eaten inside the restaurant for lunch and dinner and also experienced their takeaway.
Lunchtime is definitely better value as most of the dishes are around $9.90. The service is fast but the staff offer no personality or enthusiasm and only 'appear' to speak basic english. The food is fresh and usually of a consistent quality. Once you are finished dining inside the restaurant you are usually encouraged to leave by way of the staff cleaning your table immediately and then hovering around you. We have always felt a little rushed out the door and are given stares if we dont move on fast enough. They also tack on an extra charge of .50c if you want to pay with your credit card, which is promptly added to your bill.
The dinner menu varies a little from the lunchtime one and averages around $16+ for the same size portion as lunch. Again, the quality is good, food is fresh and service is fast and the restaurant is usually kept very clean and tidy.
Takeaway is of the same good quality and is ready within 10 minutes so a great option if you are in a hurry and dont have time to sit and enjoy your food in the restaurant.
This restaurant is very popular with the local Uni students so finding a table can be a challenge sometimes, so takeaway can be a really good option.

I frequently have lunch at the Secret Garden, including their great take-away rolls and hot foods.

The outside garden area at the rear of the cafe is like a small oasis in the middle of a busy area. The surroundings are just lovely and it's a great place to catch up with friends for coffee and cake or a nice lunch.

They have a great range of hot foods as well as freshly made rolls and sandwiches.

The freshly squeezed orange juice is a real favourite with my kids.

The meals are all well presented and most come with salad and chunky fries. The service is prompt making it the perfect spot for busy Mums to relax after the kids go back school after the holidays.

This review is for Ozshut Roller Shutters, Malaga WA

verified email - 28 Jun 2013

We recently had shutters installed on the windows of an old house. They came up with a really good price as the house is on a busy road and they REALLY wanted the advertising.

The guy who came out to measure them prior to installation incorrectly measured one of the openings so that it would only shut half way. The installer, who was very pleasant and professional took it away with him and brought it back two days later and fitted it to the window.

It was the following week before I was given 30 minutes notice for the electrician to come and wire them up which took a couple of hours.

We now have some large cracks in the render around a couple of the windows that wasn't there prior to installation but figured there isn't much you can do about that. Thankfully we hadn't done any exterior painting or repairs prior to the shutters.

It's early days, but so far so good. I only wish I'd found this site and read some of these reviews before I went with Ozshut as it certainly would have made a difference.

Oh, they did try the hard sell thing when I initially had someone out and he wasted over an hour of my time before I sent him packing. He wanted to show me his pie charts and tell me all about his advertising budget, which I really wasn't interested in.

When they called me back I told them I didn't want to hear any of their hard sell rubbish as it simply won't work on me. All I wanted was them to come out and measure the windows, show me the products and give me a price... end of story!

They didn't send the 'advertising manager' back the second time and instead they sent a straight talking guy who didn't waste my time and cut straight to the bottom line without all the hard sell.

I did point out to the sales guy that it would be a shame if I did receive bad service from their company which would force me to write the words 'NEVER USE' across the top of their lovely advertising sign they have in my front yard. A whole lotta people would see it. I think he got the picture.... ;-)

This review is for Coco's Riverside Bar & Restaurant, South Perth WA

I had lunch at Coco's this week for the first time in several months with one of my good friends. Every visit prior to this one has been excellent and I honestly could not fault it.

I'm not sure if they recently changed their chef or were just having an off day, but we were left feeling a little underwhelmed this time.

The entree was lovely, chorizo plate, which we shared. It was well presented and delicious.

We both decided to have the Black Angus steaks (on my recommendation) for our mains and mine was extremely dry, tough and tasteless. My friend ordered hers medium rare and it was cooked all the way through and again very dry, tough and tasteless.

The wait staff forgot to bring out two of the items we ordered and I observed another table being served 4 entire meals that belonged to another table.

The apologies were free flowing and the errors quickly corrected but they were definitely off their game on this visit and it was a very quiet day with very few patrons.

We both ordered the chocolate pudding berry dessert, which was divine but my friend had to again remind them of the coffee she had ordered when they forgot to bring it out.

Coco's is a relatively expensive restaurant so I guess you expect consistently good food and service when you enjoy a lunch by the river as you pay a consistent price regardless of the day they are having.

We recently purchased all new tapware and a bathroom basin for a home renovation and were pleasantly surprised by the range and quality of the goods on display at Bathroom Warehouse.

We found Larry to be very helpful and he gave us good prices when we asked for a further discount. So remember to ask!

We visited numerous showrooms and stores before visiting this one and managed to find everything we wanted in the one store, making the experience easy and problem free.

Two items had to be ordered and we were told they would take five days to arrive instore and we were called on that fifth day to notify us they were ready to collect.

From the outside it looks like a shed but don't let that put you off as it has an enormous range on display. Far more than we found anywhere else.

We recently purchase a large quantity of fencing and had custom made gates built by Aussie Fencing.

We found them to be very competitively priced for a first class product. We did our homework and compared various companies and products and found Aussie Fencing to be of a very high standard.

We found everyone from their instore staff through to their delivery driver to be very helpful and courteous.

This company performed what we believed to be (and paid for) a thorough termite inspection and report on a property we were purchasing. The property is very old and we were understandably concerned about old or active termite damage and conveyed this to the company who arranged this inspection as part of a 'package' for pre-purchase home inspections.

I made special note via email of the areas that I was particularly concerned about and was assured that the inspector would thoroughly investigate those areas.

It was only AFTER we had parted with our hard earned money that they supplied a report which was full of disclaimers basically supporting that their report wasn't worth the paper it was written on.

All in all they stated that their inspection was inconclusive as they could not gain access to the roofspace (despite two manholes inside the property), they could not gain access to the underfloor as they are not permitted to touch anything covering man traps and they could not gain access to the perimeter of the property due to vegetation (which were basically weeds) so could not conclude whether there was any evidence of termite activity.

They did however state that there was no live termite activity in the garden or outbuildings.

It was suggested that an additional sum would secure a more thorough inspection (which is what I believed we had already paid for) on the property and that I would be advised to do so. It was at this point that we realised what a sham this whole thing was.

We hesitantly proceeded with the purchase totally blind on whether the place was infested with termites or not.

Immediately following settlement we contacted a reputable termite inspector who came straight out to the property and conducted a full and thorough inspection. He (amazingly) managed to perform a full inspection of the roofspace (via the manholes) and also underfloor. Not only did he crawl around under the house but he also has an electronic device which can detect the movement of termites and any old damage that may be present.

Thankfully, we did not have any live termites or old damage inside the property - a thought which had certainly caused a lot of sleepless nights leading up to settlement.

Within minutes of inspecting the outside of the property, he did locate a live and well established nest in a tree trunk in the back yard. This wasn't something that could have possibly appeared overnight. He also found numerous points with old termite damage and activity which had also not been observed or noted on the previous report.

It really made us wonder whether one, they actually inspected the correct property and two, what they were actually doing whilst they were supposedly inspecting the property.

I only wished that I hadn't trusted the company who was personally recommended to me to arrange this initial pre-purchase inspection.

I would honestly recommend people to do their homework as I managed to find a truly honest and reputable guy to perform the second inspection. Don't trust these all inclusive companies who offer to do all the pre-purchase inspections because you really don't get what you believe you are paying for.

This review is for Beacon Lighting, Cannington WA

We recently purchased a whole house full of lighting, ceiling fans and exterior lighting as we are renovating an old property.

We initially found it difficult to catch anyones attention inside the shop but on our second visit, we believed we had found a very helpful young lady. Unfortunately, our order was messed up and it meant 6 trips back to the store exchanging wrong lighting and picking up lights that had to be ordered and then re-ordered.

It meant that we wasted a lot of time and money trying to get the correct lighting that we believed we had been given in the first place. Not to mention the cost of the electrician to come back to install the correct lighting that went back numerous times.

Whilst we were initially happy with the price and products, the inconvenience and additional cost of being given the run around was really unacceptable. 6 visits to the store to correct their mistakes is simply ridiculous.

Other staff members happily assisted us to correct the errors but it didn't take away from the time and money wasted.

I would definitely think twice before going there again.

This review is for Eco Insulation , Malaga WA

I recently had Eco Insulation remove some old rotten insulation batts and give the roofspace a thorough cleaning to remove 80 years worth of dust and debris. They then installed new 3.5 pink batts throughout the entire area - I was pleasantly surprised to see that this included a specially cut batt to sit on top of the manhole cover to provide full coverage inside the roof.

This was all arranged without any fuss and was completed on the same day. All rubbish and debris (and there was a lot) was bagged and immediately removed from the property upon completion of the job.

They provided a great price and top quality service.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to either replace old batts or instal new ones.
