After a break of three years and three years of absolutely terrible haircuts and colours I returned to Ceasar's Hands. The break was only due to my work schedule making it impossible to attend appointments in the city. I was in despair with the condition and cut of my hair and after just one visit my hair not only feels but looks amazing again. Cesare just knows how to tame my unruly mop of strong, thick and wavy hair and understands that thinning scissors and/or a relaxing perm are not the answers. It will take a few more visits before my hair is back in good condition but I am so happy to be back in Ceasar's Hands.

Situated in a renovated pub. We were seated next to a lovely open fire which was warm and cosy on a wet windy night. The menu was provided on a piece of paper similar to a place mat and specials were on a chalk board. The food described on the menu sounded nice and what was delivered to the tables around us as we sat an waited for our meal to arrive looked good too. Unfortunately we never actually ate anything there. After 50 minutes of watching others who had arrived and ordered well after us being delivered their meals I approached the counter (much top my daughters mortification). The pleasant young man who had taken our order looked us up on the computer and I could see that no order was entered next to our table number. He hummed and hawed, went out to the kitchen, came back and asked what we'd ordered and went off to the kitchen again.
When he arrived back he said our meals would be arriving "soon". I asked how long "soon" was as we had already been waiting over 50 minutes. He was unable to give me a time frame as there were three other orders in front of us! I reminded him that actually by now we had been waiting the longest of anyone in the restaurant for some food and that perhaps our order could be moved to the front of the queue.
At this point the bar manager interceded and offered us a couple of free drinks. I declined as we had already drunk a jug and a half of water as well as a soft drink each and were beginning to feel fluid over loaded. We decided to leave without dinner and went somewhere else where we could be and were served in a timely manner.
At no time did the waiter admit he had made a mistake. At no time during the 50 minutes we sat there did anyone come and check on us to see how our order/ evening was progressing. Over the course of the 50 minutes two of the other staff looked at us in a puzzled manner but none came to ask us if we had ordered or received our meals.
The situation was dealt with very poorly by the staff on duty at the time. A disappointing experience and one we will not repeat.

Approximate cost: $25 - $35

I had two haircuts by two different stylists at this salon and will not be going back. The last cut was one of the worst I have ever had in my life. I have very difficult, coarse, curly hair and it was cut into a style that was just never going to work for my hair type. I spent the next 2 weeks searching for someone who could redeem something from the severe undercut and frizzy mess I was left with. As a consequence I have ended up with much shorter hair than I would normally like (but have in that process I have found a hairdresser I will return to forever). The colour I was given did not suit my skin tone and made me look sallow. The staff are pleasant, the salon is nicely set out but there is no waiting area in which to sit. I also felt very pressured to buy products which I told the stylist I had used in the past and that had not suited my hair.

After moving to Melbourne 18 months ago I have finally found a hairdresser who can cut my very coarse, thick, curly, difficult hair! I went in looking like a woolly sheep and came out looking so glamorous my partner didn't recognise me and my mother walked straight past me at the airport! Ces spent a long time just playing with my hair, twisting it to different lengths and shapes before deciding on a cut. He explained that initially it would be shorter than he would like as he was constrained by the last very bad haircut I was given. It is an easy care funky style that makes me look younger and takes no time at all to do in the morning - just dampen, shake and go. I love it and have never had so many wonderful confidence boosting comments about my new look. Yesterday I went back for my second visit and Ces adjusted the colour slightly as he wasn't happy with the way it had evolved (I still loved how it looked but he is a perfectionist). I walked out feeling just as happy as after the first visit. At last I have found my hairdresser!
