We went to the new Green Mango in Ashgrove on a week night. The restaurant was quite busy. The food was delicious, and service was very friendly. BYO and reasonably priced meals. We ordered a few entrees and an assortments of mains; the highlights included a jungle curry and one of the stir fries. Vegetarian and gluten free options were available. Will be back.

Got takeaway from these guys on a recent saturday night. The place was packed full of young people and it had an authentic casual american diner vibe.
We ordered a Carolina pack and a chicken burger. The Carolina pack was probably enough food for 2 reasonably hungry people and included bbq ribs, wings and new york fries. The ribs (must order bbq sauce on these) and wings were the highlight - a lot of yummy, unhealthy food. On the other hand, the fries were a bit lacklustre. The chicken burger did the job but definitely far from the best I've ever tasted.
If you're into quantity over quality and comfort food, then check it out.

Went for a sunday morning breakfast . The waiters/waitresses were friendly and bright and the food and drinks were great and delivered promptly. Good coffee (actual chocolate sprinkled on top). Had eggs benedict which was delicious and as you'd expect. Would go back.

A cute little place on Given Tce. The seats out the front would be a perfect place to hang out on a summer sunday afternoon for a few brews with a friend or two.
We ordered several drinks and a few tapas. The drinks included a pinapple/ginger/honey concoction which was delicious and a milkshake. We also got pork belly fries, tacos and chips. The food was yum but a bit overpriced for what we got. Service was ok too.
Would go back on a lazy summer afternoon.

The little dumpling shop on James St is in a great location, close to other restaurants and shops etc.
We ordered 6 dumplings each ($11, for a meal) and a BBQ steam bun each ($3). The dumplings were steamed and flavourful. Green tea was also given to us with our dumplings (complimentary). The ambience was cheap and cheerful. The food was not cheap (by my dumpling standards).
Would go back (but not in a massive hurry).

We were looking something yum, hot and easy at 9 on a week night. We ordered a BBQ chicken pizza (large). The guy serving was nice and friendly. The pizza was quick (about 10 mins). Since we ordered a traditional pizza, it was only $12.95 - cheaper than I had expected. I remember going to a different pizza capers a little while back and thinking it was relatively expensive - we must have ordered a more fancy/ gourmet pizza that time.
I would recommend the joint to people in the area wanting a quick, yum take away pizza

Food is always fresh and delicious. My favourite is the marinated beef salad bowl (large serving), the 'wrap your own' chicken rice paper rolls and the sizzling mongolian beef.
Cheap and cheerful atmosphere.
Great value (BYO also).
